The Winnipeg Jets have placed Dylan Samberg on injured reserve with a broken foot. Samberg suffered the injury in the second period of Winnipeg’s Saturday matchup against Nashville, blocking a Steven Stamkos slapshot with his skate and immediately leaving the ice. A WALMART employee got lucky when she won a million-dollar lottery ticket after her holiday shift - and she wasn't even supposed to be working that day. The retail worker was in the right place at the right time when she stopped by the store's California Lottery vending machine while leaving her shift. Rebecca Gonzalez wasn't initially scheduled to work on Labor Day at Walmart in the City of Industry, which is about 20 miles east of Los Angeles, but she got a last-minute call from the store. She reluctantly agreed to work a short shift on her day off, she told the California Lottery. “It was Labor Day and they only needed me for three hours,” Gonzalez said. “I wanted to obviously be home with my family because we planned to barbecue.” READ MORE ON LOTTERY WINNERS Despite working three hours on what was supposed to be her vacation, Gonzalez decided to make the best of it by buying a lottery ticket during her shift. INGLEWOOD, Calif. — When Saquon Barkley glanced up at a SoFi Stadium replay of his latest huge run for the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday night, he happened to see a graphic indicating he had 173 yards rushing — only 16 shy of what he knew to be his career high. “I said, ‘Aw, I wish I never saw that,'" Barkley said with a grin. “That's just the devil talking, that's how I look at it. ... I'm a big believer that if it happens, it happens. Just let it come to you.” Barkley decided to continue to run for his teammates, not for records. A few carries later, both his personal best and several additional superlatives fell right to him with his second massive touchdown run on a historic night. Barkley ran for scores of 70 and 72 yards in the second half and finished with an Eagles-record 255 yards rushing in Philadelphia’s seventh consecutive victory, 37-20 over the Los Angeles Rams. Barkley racked up the ninth-most yards rushing in a game in NFL history largely thanks to his huge TD runs bookending the second half. After a Thursday collapse, Indian equity markets rebounded strongly on Friday helped by buying trends across sectors with IT and bank heavyweights throwing their weights around. Individually Reliance Industries (RIL) was the single biggest contributor to their surge. While the S&P BSE Sensex settled at 79,117.11, up by 1961.32 points or 2.54%, the broader Nifty closed at 23,907.25, higher by 557.35 points or 2.39%. Here's how analysts read the market pulse: Commenting on the day's action, Rupak De, Senior Technical Analyst at LKP Securities said that Nifty is back to its 200-DMA after a strong Friday recovery, indicating an improving trend. Additionally, the 50-stock index has broken out of a few days of congestion on the daily timeframe, he said. "The RSI has entered a bullish crossover near the oversold zone, suggesting positive momentum. The sentiment appears favorable for a meaningful rally in the short term, as long as the index stays above 23,600,” De said.
