kijiji lloydminster Israel’s attorney general has ordered police to open an investigation into Benjamin Netanyahu’s wife on suspicion of harassing political opponents and witnesses in the Prime Minister’s corruption trial. The Israeli Justice Ministry made the announcement in a message late on Thursday, saying the investigation would focus on the findings of a recent report by the Uvda investigative programme into Sara Netanyahu. The programme uncovered a trove of WhatsApp messages in which Mrs Netanyahu appears to instruct a former aide to organise protests against political opponents and to intimidate Hadas Klein, a key witness in the trial. The announcement did not mention Mrs Netanyahu by name and the Justice Ministry declined further comment. Earlier on Thursday, Mr Netanyahu blasted the Uvda report as “lies”. It is the latest in a long line of legal troubles for the Netanyahus, highlighted by the PM’s ongoing corruption trial. Mr Netanyahu is charged with fraud, breach of trust and accepting bribes in a series of cases alleging he exchanged favours with powerful media moguls and wealthy associates. He denies the charges and says he is the victim of a “witch hunt” by overzealous prosecutors, police and the media. Meta Description: Amazon founder and tech titan Jeff Bezos saved nearly $1 billion in state taxes by relocating from Seattle to his billionaire bunker in Florida. For most people, deciding where to live comes down to factors like affordability and access to employment. Then again, billionaires like Amazon founder Jeff Bezos aren't most people. Although Bezos has the money to live wherever he wants, many people suspect finances played a role in his decision to relocate to the infamous "billionaire bunker" in 2024. Keep reading to learn why that move may have saved Jeff Bezos almost $1 billion in taxes. Like many billionaires, Jeff Bezos' life has become the subject of intense public speculation. Almost every move Bezos makes becomes news and his announcement in late 2023 that he would relocate to Florida is no exception. Bezos announced the move on his Instagram page, listing several motivating factors, including being closer to his parents and his fledgling aerospace company, Blue Origin. Don't Miss: Maker of the $60,000 foldable home has 3 factory buildings, 600+ houses built, and big plans to solve housing — you can become an investor for $0.80 per share today. If there was a new fund backed by Jeff Bezos offering a 7-9% target yield with monthly dividends would you invest in it ? Bezos moved from Seattle, where he had lived for many years, to Indian Creek Village in early 2024. Indian Creek Village is an exclusive community outside of Miami known as the "billionaire bunker." Business Insider describes this as more than just a swanky gated community. It is its own city, with only 89 residents and a police department whose sole job is keeping nonresidents out. Indian Creek Village is a private island and the only way in is to cross a bridge patrolled by its Police Department. The same department has a fleet of boats and aggressively patrols the surrounding waters. Even Before Bezos moved in, Indian Creek Village was home to an ultraexclusive crowd that included Tom Brady, Ivanka Trump and Carl Icahn. It's even rumored that the Emir of Qatar has a place there. See Also: Unlock the hidden potential of commercial real estate — This platform allows individuals to invest in commercial real estate offering a 12% target yield with a bonus 1% return boost today! This explains why most of the media attention revolved around the sheer size of Bezos' acquisitions. He didn't just buy one place on the island; he bought three. According to an article in the Robb Report, Bezos spent almost $250 million on them. Ownership of the three properties gives Bezos control over 7.5% of Indian Creek Village's 40 residences. It's not hard to imagine why Indian Creek Village's combination of exclusivity and privacy would appeal to someone like Jeff Bezos. However, astute financial observers began to speculate on another reason for Bezos' abrupt move from Washington to Florida. Forbes magazine has reported that Bezos has sold nearly $13.6 billion in Amazon stock since moving to Indian Creek Village. Washington’s capital gains tax law taxes capital gains over $250,000 at 7%. Florida, by contrast, doesn't tax income or capital gains. Forbes estimates Bezos would have owed about $954 million to the state of Washington if he had still been living in Seattle when he sold his Amazon stock. Looking at it that way, spending $250 million on property saved Jeff Bezos $700 million. Read Next: Wondering if your investments can get you to a $5,000,000 nest egg? Ameren Corp. stock underperforms Thursday when compared to competitorsBy DEVNA BOSE One of the country’s largest health insurers reversed a change in policy Thursday after widespread outcry, saying it would not tie payments in some states to the length of time a patient went under anesthesia. Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield said in a statement that its decision to backpedal resulted from “significant widespread misinformation” about the policy. “To be clear, it never was and never will be the policy of Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield to not pay for medically necessary anesthesia services,” the statement said. “The proposed update to the policy was only designed to clarify the appropriateness of anesthesia consistent with well-established clinical guidelines.” Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield would have used “physician work time values,” which is published by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, as the metric for anesthesia limits; maternity patients and patients under the age of 22 were exempt. But Dr. Jonathan Gal, economics committee chair of the American Society for Anesthesiologists, said it’s unclear how CMS derives those values. In mid-November, the American Society for Anesthesiologists called on Anthem to “reverse the proposal immediately,” saying in a news release that the policy would have taken effect in February in New York, Connecticut and Missouri. It’s not clear how many states in total would have been affected, as notices also were posted in Virginia and Colorado . People across the country registered their concerns and complaints on social media, and encouraged people in affected states to call their legislators. Some people noted that the policy could prevent patients from getting overcharged. Gal said the policy change would have been unprecedented, ignored the “nuanced, unpredictable human element” of surgery and was a clear “money grab.” “It’s incomprehensible how a health insurance company could so blatantly continue to prioritize their profits over safe patient care,” he said. “If Anthem is, in fact, rescinding the policy, we’re delighted that they came to their senses.” Prior to Anthem’s announcement Thursday, Connecticut comptroller Sean Scanlon said the “concerning” policy wouldn’t affect the state after conversations with the insurance company. And New York Gov. Kathy Hochul said in an emailed statement Thursday that her office had also successfully intervened. The insurance giant’s policy change came one day after the CEO of UnitedHealthcare , another major insurance company, was shot and killed in New York City.

SUMMARY (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); 30,000 Public Workspaces Exposed: CloudSEK identifies massive data leaks from Postman workspaces. Sensitive Data at Risk: Leaks include API keys, tokens, and administrator credentials. Major Platforms Affected: GitHub, Slack, and Salesforce among the impacted services. Key Causes: Misconfigured access, plaintext storage, and public sharing of collections. Mitigation Steps: Use environment variables, rotate tokens, and adopt secret management tools. On December 23, 2024, CloudSEK’s TRIAD team identified critical security vulnerabilities and risks from the misuse of Postman Workspaces , a popular cloud-based API development and testing platform. In their year-long investigation, researchers found over 30,000 publicly accessible workspaces leaking sensitive information about third-party APIs, including access tokens, refresh tokens, and third-party API keys, posing severe risks to businesses and individuals alike. According to the company’s report shared with Hackread.com, leaked data spanned organizations across various industries, from small businesses to large enterprises, impacting major platforms like GitHub , Slack , and Salesforce . Critical sectors affected included healthcare, athletic apparel, and financial services, exposing organizations to numerous threats and security risks. Researchers noted that common practices leading to these data leaks include inadvertent sharing of Postman collections, misconfigured access controls, syncing with publicly accessible repositories, and storing sensitive data in plaintext without encryption. (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); These vulnerabilities can lead to severe consequences. The leaked data, which included administrator credentials, payment processing API keys , and access to internal systems, can lead to financial and reputational damage for the affected organizations. Sensitive data exposure within Postman can have significant consequences for both individual developers and entire organizations. Reportedly, top API services like api.github.com, slack.com, and hooks.slack.com have the most exposed secrets. High-profile services like Salesforce.com, login.microsoftonline.com, and graph.facebook.com have also been exposed. A leaked API key or access token can provide attackers with direct access to critical systems and data, potentially leading to data breaches, unauthorized system access, and increased phishing and social engineering attacks. Postman often stores sensitive information like API keys, secrets, and PII for authentication and communication with APIs. To ensure data safety, organizations should use environment variables wisely, limit permissions, avoid long-lived tokens, use external secrets management, and double-check before sharing any collection or environment. CloudSEK responsibly reported most identified incidents to affected organizations, helping mitigate risks. To prevent such exposures, CloudSEK urges organizations to adopt more reliable security measures, such as using environment variables to avoid hardcoding sensitive data, limiting permissions, rotating tokens frequently, leveraging secrets management tools, and double-checking collections before sharing. Moreover, Postman has implemented a secret-protection policy to prevent sensitive data from being exposed in public workspaces following the disclosure of these findings. The policy alerts users if secrets are detected, offers resolutions, and facilitates transitions to private or team workspaces. “ Starting this month, we are removing public workspaces with known exposed secrets from the Public API Network. As we roll out this policy change, owners of public workspaces containing secrets will be notified and have the opportunity to remove their exposed secrets before that workspace is removed from the network,” the company noted. Try the more than $115 million that will be spread across the conferences at the end of the season, all depending on who gets in and which teams go the farthest. According to the College Football Playoff website , the 12 teams simply making the bracket earn their conferences $4 million each. Another $4 million goes to conferences whose teams get into the quarterfinals. Then, there's $6 million more for teams that make the semifinals and another $6 million for those who play for the title. Most of this bonanza comes courtesy of ESPN, which is forking over $1.3 billion a year to televise the new postseason. A lot of that money is already earmarked — more goes to the Big Ten and Southeastern Conference than the Big 12 or Atlantic Coast — but a lot is up for grabs in the 11 games that will play out between the opening round on Dec. 20 and the final on Jan. 20. In all, the teams that make the title game will bring $20 million to their conferences, all of which distribute that money, along with billions in TV revenue and other sources, in different ways. In fiscal 2022-23, the Big Ten, for instance, reported revenue of nearly $880 million and distributed about $60.5 million to most of its members. The massive stakes might help explain the unabashed lobbying coming from some corners of the football world, as the tension grows in advance of Sunday's final rankings, which will set the bracket. Earlier this week, Big 12 commissioner Brett Yormark lit into the selection committee, which doesn't have a single team higher than 15 in the rankings. That does two things: It positions the Big 12 as a one-bid league, and also threatens to makes its champion — either Arizona State or Iowa State — the fifth-best among conference titlists that get automatic bids. Only the top four of those get byes, which could cost the Big 12 a spot in the quarterfinals — or $4 million. “The committee continues to show time and time again that they are paying attention to logos versus resumes,” Yormark said this week, while slamming the idea of teams with two losses in his conference being ranked worse than teams with three in the SEC. The ACC is also staring at a one-bid season with only No. 8 SMU inside the cut line of this week's projected bracket. Miami's loss last week all but bumped the Hurricanes out of the playoffs, a snub that ACC commissioner Jim Phillips said left him “incredibly shocked and disappointed." “As we look ahead to the final rankings, we hope the committee will reconsider and put a deserving Miami in the field," Phillips said in a statement. The lobbying and bickering filters down to the campuses that feel the impact. And, of course, to social media. One of the most entertaining episodes came earlier this week when athletic directors at Iowa State and SMU went back and forth about whose team was more deserving. There are a few stray millions that the selection committee cannot really influence, including a $3 million payment to conferences that make the playoff. In a reminder that all these kids are going to school, after all, the conferences get $300,000 per football team that meets academic requirements to participate in the postseason.
