Taoiseach Simon Harris wants the new Government to be up and running within weeks. “My conversations with the Tánaiste are confidential but I am satisfied that there is a way forward here, subject to being able to get a serious policy framework agreed in the coming weeks,” he said. “I do think it’s important that we get a new Government in place for January.” Separately, the Social Democrats will decide tomorrow whether or not to continue with Government formation talks.
