Diversity, Equity and Inclusion has become an important talking point for businesses, schools and brands in recent years. However, some companies - and schools, like the University of Florida - have begun to dial their policies back, after testing them out for a while. Walmart is joining that group. The retailer, which is the largest private employer in the world, announced on Wednesday that it will stop using the term DEI. It has replaced it with "belonging." Walmart has also announced that it will no longer consider race or gender when choosing suppliers. It had leaned into that practice in 2020, during the heat of the United States' discussions on race and equality.
