You've been able to get highly efficient LED lights with the Kelvin rating of your choice for quite some time now. You'd be a fool to waste energy on old technology bulbs. You can light your entire house for the same energy expenditure of two "real light bulbs". Mike, I like you but you're dead wrong here. I'm a solar engineer with a degree in Photovoltaics and Electrical Utilities. Incandescent bulbs use 90% of electricity while supplying 10% of light. It's the inverse for CFL's or LED's. It hurt me to say this because I DO respect you I suspect if you put incandescent bulbs back on the shelf no one would buy them. LEDs are so much better. Don’t create heat, less dangerous, come in different brightness and color and are now “smart” as well. (The CFL bulbs with mercury in them were crap and we all knew it then.) Perhaps it should be up to the market to decide. We need an alternative to LED light bulbs. Not all of us think they are safe. Everyone wants real incandescent lightbulbs again. For Netflix, onboarding the WWE is part of a strategic move to air more live events on the heels of a hugely successful fight between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul that was viewed by more than 60 million people. “Raw” has been averaging about 1.5 million viewers on USA Network over the past month, according to Nielsen. WWE has produced thousands of episodes of “Raw,” since its debut in 1993, with star performers like Seth Rollins, CM Punk and Rhea Ripley. “Raw” and the media rights that come with it, had become a hot commodity before WWE reached a deal worth more than $5 billion with Netflix. In addition to a larger pool of potential viewers, moving to Netflix means the WWE won’t have to worry as much about curse words getting muted or potentially gory scenes or risque or obscene gestures being blurred. And as it has done throughout its history, WWE has promoted the shift to Netflix across different platforms as it seeks to expand its audience. During a Travis Scott concert last month, former professional wrestler and now WWE chief content officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque told attendees from the stage that one of the rapper’s song will be the new “Raw” theme song, and that Scott will appear on the first episode on Netflix on January 6. For 26 single-parent households, thanks to a helping hand via The Singletons , this season feels a little brighter thanks to the nonprofit’s holiday toy drive held at Diamond Children’s Hospital. The Singletons, a Phoenix-based nonprofit, provides essential support to single-parent families coping with cancer. “For 19 years, we’ve worked to lighten the load of families battling cancer,” said Jody Boyd, founder and CEO of The Singletons. “This is our second holiday event in Tucson, and it’s wonderful to see our community grow.” Boyd founded the organization after the loss of her childhood friend Michelle Singleton to breast cancer. “She was a single mom of four children, and I saw firsthand how overwhelming it was,” Boyd shared. “Our programs mirror the ways her friends and family supported her—providing meals, essentials, and a sense of care.” At this year’s event, the nonprofit distributed gifts, meal kits, and household necessities. “Families today are leaving with items ranging from laundry detergent to toothbrushes, plus holiday gifts tailored to their wish lists,” Boyd said. Volunteer-packed meal kits, including comfort foods like enchiladas and mac and cheese, aim to provide quick, nutritious options during hectic days of treatment. The impact extends beyond material goods. Jamie Sanchez, a social worker with Banner University Medical Center, emphasized the importance of these events for the families. “Cancer can be financially devastating,” Sanchez said. “Many parents have to stop working to care for their child, which compounds the stress of meeting basic needs. The firm, which owns Faberge, said more than 200 people linked to illegal ruby mining attacked a village built by the company next to its Montepuez Ruby Mining operation on Christmas Eve. Two people were shot and killed as security forces made up of Mozambican police and military moved to protect the village. Work at ruby mine halted after attack on company village Gemfields, one of the largest miners of coloured gems, said the incident came as groups sought to take advantage of 'the prevailing political unrest in Mozambique'. The country has been gripped by violent protests after an election that opposition parties claim was rigged in favour of the ruling Frelimo party. Gemfields halted operations on Christmas Eve, relocating some of its 500-plus staff. They are now returning, and the firm 'intends to return to normal operations before the end of the year'. Their best hope is for a quick ruling by Monday. “I get the sense from him today that he’s looking at the date the portal closes and trying to give enough time to react before it closes,” Downton said of the judge's timing after the hearing. Campbell peppered attorneys with questions. The judge noted prep schools play against junior colleges, including Pavia's, without starting their NCAA eligibility clock. He also noted junior colleges don't allow redshirt seasons. The judge also said the NCAA has changed its rules over the past 50 years, including allowing freshmen to play and later added the redshirt rule. Campbell sounded surprised when told a player who redshirted this season could play a total of nine games if on the team that wins the College Football Playoff. Pavia filed Nov. 8 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee in Nashville. His request for a temporary restraining order was denied giving him two more seasons of eligibility allowing a redshirt season “to avoid additional harm.” His lawsuit also asks that Vanderbilt, or any other college, not be punished for complying with orders from the court. Attorneys Tamarra Matthews Johnson and Max Warren argued for the NCAA that Pavia had done exactly what the organization wants athletes to do earning a bachelor's degree at New Mexico State before being a graduate transfer to Vanderbilt earlier this year. They also argued Pavia easily can seek another degree without playing football. Warren disputed the idea of irreparable damages noting Pavia can receive economic damages at trial without an injunction. Warren also questioned the lawsuit's timing with Pavia quoted that this was his last year of college football. “His best opportunity to earn a living is playing college football ...,” Downton said in court. “This is his chance.” Pavia did not get an offer from a Football Bowl Subdivision school coming out of Volcano Vista High School in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He went to New Mexico Military Institute in 2020 and led the junior college to the 2021 national championship. He went to New Mexico State in 2022 and won 10 games in 2023.
