arki sport betting 23-year-old Adam Rissetto says he has been trying to get a picture of the Triangulum Galaxy - a spiral galaxy 2.73 million light-years from Earth "for a long time" and has finally completed his mission. Adam, who last year graduated from Teesside University with a degree in photography, usually heads to a secluded spot named Summerhouse on the outskirts of Darlington for maximum darkness. Adam Rissetto, 23. (Image: ADAM RISSETTO) After waiting for hours for the sky to clear on November 11, he was finally able to get his chance to see the Triangulum Galaxy, which was discovered in 1654, at 10pm. He said: "I did have a passion for photography before I went to university - and started by doing both Astrophotography as well as wildlife. "I don't get pictures like this very often as we usually have terrible weather! I was still happy with this and went on to post it as a work in progress." Adam's picture of the Triangulum Galaxy. (Image: ADAM RISSETTO) Adam went on to explain how getting pictures like this really works - as it's not as simple as just pointing the camera up and getting the perfect shot. Using a hoard of equipment including an equatorial mount to track the subject, pictures are taken over a matter of hours and are then collated together to make the final product. This time, the Triangulum Galaxy shot was taken after just an hour of tracking as the cloud meant he was unable to get a clear view for long. Another picture taken by Adam - this time of the North America Nebula. (Image: ADAM RISSETTO) However, despite Adam saying it is "not his best" - he received a load of praise and good feedback when he posted it on social media not long after. He added: "It's awesome to get such nice comments, I never expect any praise as I just enjoy sharing my work. "I never see anyone else doing what I do - so it's quite nice to be one of the only ones."The International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants on Thursday for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, his former defense minister and a Hamas military leader, accusing them of war crimes and crimes against humanity. The announcement came as health officials in the Gaza Strip said the death toll from the 13-month-old war between Israel and Hamas has surpassed 44,000. The warrant marked the first time that a sitting leader of a major Western ally has been accused of war crimes and crimes against humanity by a global court of justice. The ICC panel said there were reasonable grounds to believe that both Netanyahu and his ex-defense minister bear responsibility for the war crime of starvation and the crimes against humanity of murder, persecution and other inhumane acts. Israel’s war has caused heavy destruction across Gaza, decimated parts of the territory and driven almost the entire population of 2.3 million people from their homes, leaving most dependent on aid to survive. Israel launched its war in Gaza after Hamas-led militants stormed into southern Israel on Oct. 7, 2023, killing some 1,200 people, mostly civilians, and abducting another 250 . Around 100 hostages are still inside Gaza, at least a third of whom are believed to be dead. Here’s the Latest: UNITED NATIONS -- The U.N. humanitarian chief for Gaza is warning that the delivery of critical food, water, fuel and medical supplies is grinding to a halt throughout the territory and “the survival of two million people hangs in the balance.” Muhannad Hadi said in a statement Thursday that Israeli authorities have been banning commercial imports for more than six weeks and at the same time thefts from humanitarian convoys by armed individuals have surged. “In 2024, U.N. trucks have been looted 75 times –- including 15 such attacks since Nov. 4 alone –- and armed people have broken into U.N. facilities on 34 occasions,” he said. Last week, one driver was shot in the head and hospitalized along with another truck driver, Hadi said. And on Saturday 98 trucks were looted in a single attack which saw the vehicles damaged or stolen. The Gaza humanitarian coordinator said bakeries are closing because of lack of flour or fuel to operate generators. “Palestinian civilians are struggling to survive under unlivable conditions, amid relentless hostilities,” Hadi said. He demanded the immediate improvement of security and conditions throughout Gaza to allow the safe and unimpeded delivery of humanitarian aid “through lawful means.” Israel says it puts no limit on the supplies permitted into Gaza, and it blames the U.N. distribution system. But Israel’s official figures show the amount of aid it has let in has plunged since the beginning of October. The U.N has blamed Israeli military restrictions, along with widespread lawlessness that has led to theft of aid shipments. WASHINGTON — The White House fundamentally rejects the International Criminal Court’s decision to issue arrest warrants for senior Israeli officials, press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said Thursday. She said the Biden administration was “deeply concerned by the prosecutor’s rush to seek arrest warrants and the troubling process errors that led to this decision.” The Biden administration has increased its warnings and appeals to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to do more to spare civilians in airstrikes and other attacks, and to allow more aid to reach Gaza. However, a 30-day Biden administration deadline came and went earlier this month for Israel to meet specific U.S. targets to improve its treatment of Palestinian civilians in Gaza trapped in the war. U.S. demands included that Israel lift a near-total ban on delivery of aid to hard-hit north Gaza for starving civilians there. KHAN YOUNIS, Gaza Strip — The three children were playing outside a cluster of tents housing displaced people in the Gaza Strip when an Israeli airstrike killed them, along with six other people. It’s become a grim, near-daily ritual more than 13 months into the Israel-Hamas war, which local health authorities said Thursday has killed over 44,000 Palestinians. Israel carries out frequent strikes against what it says are militants hiding in civilian areas, and women and children are nearly always among the dead. Wednesday’s strike killed Hamza al-Qadi, 7, his brother Abdulaziz, 5, and their sister Laila, 4, in a tent camp in the southern city of Khan Younis. Areej al-Qadi, their mother, says they were playing outside when they were killed. “All that’s left of them are their notebooks, their books and a blood-stained jacket,” she said as she broke into tears. “They were children who did nothing.” The Israeli military did not respond to a request for comment on the strike. Gaza’s Health Ministry said Thursday that 44,056 Palestinians have been killed and 104,268 wounded since the start of the war, which was ignited by Hamas’ Oct. 7 attack into Israel. Palestinian militants killed some 1,200 people that day, mostly civilians, and abducted around 250 people. The Health Ministry does not say how many of those killed in Gaza were fighters but says women and children make up more than half the fatalities. Israel, which rarely comments on individual strikes, says it has killed over 17,000 militants, without providing evidence. Hours after the ministry announced the latest toll, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, his former defense minister and a Hamas military leader. Mahmoud bin Hassan, the children’s father, said he buried them on Thursday. He asked when the international community would take action to stop the war. “When the entire Palestinian population has been killed?” he said. NEW YORK — Human Rights Watch applauded the International Criminal Court's arrest warrants issued Thursday against both Israeli and Hamas officials. The warrants “break through the perception that certain individuals are beyond the reach of the law,” the associate international justice director at Human Rights Watch, Balkees Jarrah, said in a statement. The New York-based rights group earlier this month released a report saying Israel has committed war crimes and crimes against humanity in the Gaza Strip, including massive forced displacements that amount to ethnic cleansing. JERUSALEM — Israeli prosecutors have charged a former aide to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu with leaking classified documents to international media, apparently to protect the Israeli leader from criticism as a hostage deal was collapsing. Eli Feldstein, a former media adviser to Netanyahu, was charged Thursday with leaking classified information with the intent of harming state security and obstruction of justice. The leaked documents are said to have formed the basis of a widely discredited article in the London-based Jewish Chronicle — which was later withdrawn — suggesting Hamas planned to spirit hostages out of Gaza through Egypt, and an article in Germany’s Bild newspaper that said Hamas was drawing out the hostage talks as a form of psychological warfare on Israel. Critics say the leaks were aimed at giving Netanyahu political cover as the case-fire talks ground to a halt. Some have accused Netanyahu of resisting a deal in to preserve his governing coalition, which includes hard-line members who have threatened to bring down the government if he makes concessions to Hamas. The leaks came at a time of public uproar over the deaths of six hostages who were killed by their Hamas captors as Israeli soldiers were closing in. The indictment said the leaks were meant “to create media influence on the public discourse in Israel in regards to the handling of the hostage situation, after the news of the murder of six hostages.” The indictment identified two other Netanyahu aides as being connected to the scheme, but only Feldstein and an unidentified reservist in Israeli military intelligence were charged. Netanyahu, who denies the accusations, has not been identified as a suspect in the burgeoning investigation. Israeli media say if convicted, Feldstein could potentially face life in prison. JERUSALEM -- The Israeli military has launched an investigation into the death of a 70-year-old Israeli man who entered Lebanon with Israeli forces and was killed in a Hezbollah ambush. Investigators are trying to determine, among other things, who allowed Zeev Erlich into the combat zone with the forces and why he was permitted to enter. According to Israeli media reports, Erlich was not on active duty when he was shot, but was wearing a military uniform and had a weapon. The army said he was a reservist with the rank of major and identified him as a “fallen soldier” when it announced his death. Erlich was a well-known West Bank settler and researcher of Jewish history. Media reports said Erlich was permitted to enter Lebanon to explore a local archaeological site. The army said a 20-year-old soldier was killed in the same incident, while an officer was badly wounded. The army announced Thursday that the chief of staff, Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi, has appointed a team of experts “to examine and strengthen operational discipline and military culture” following the incident. It said its commander for northern Israel, Maj. Gen. Ori Gordin, would launch a separate “command inquiry,” while Israeli military police conduct a separate probe. Such investigations can lead to criminal charges. BEIRUT — At least 29 people were killed Thursday in Israeli strikes on different towns and villages across Lebanon, according to Lebanon’s Health Ministry and state-run media. In eastern Lebanon, Israeli airstrikes killed 26 people in six different towns in Baalbek province, the health ministry and the National News Agency said. In Tyre province, southern Lebanon, three people were killed in an Israeli strike, the health ministry said. The health ministry Wednesday said that over 3,550 people have been killed in the 13-month war between Hezbollah and Israel, the majority following Israel’s escalation in late September. The European Union's foreign policy chief has underlined that the arrest warrants issued by the International Criminal Court against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Hamas officials are a legal and not political matter, and that they are binding on all 27 EU member countries and other signatories to the ICC to implement. “The tragedy in Gaza has to stop," Josep Borrell told reporters during a visit to Jordan. “It is not a political decision. It is the decision of an international court of justice, and the decision of the court has to be respected, and implemented.” “This decision is a binding decision on all state parties of the court, which include all members of the European Union," he added. ANKARA — Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s ruling partyhas welcomed the decision by the International Criminal Court to issue arrest warrants against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamn Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, calling it a judgement made for the sake of “humanity.” Omer Celik, spokesman for the Erdogan’s party, said on the social media platform X that Netanyahu and Gallant would “eventually be held accountable for genocide.” Celik also criticised Israeli officials who described the ICC decision as antisemitic. Turkey is among the most vocal critics of Israel’s military actions in Gaza and has submitted a formal request to join a genocide case that South Africa has filed against Israel at the U.N.’s International Court of Justice. Dutch foreign minister Caspar Veldkamp, whose country hosts the International Criminal Court, has confirmed The Netherlands would arrest Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu if he arrived on Dutch soil. “The line from the government is clear. We are obliged to cooperate with the ICC ... we abide 100% by the Rome Statute,” he said in response to a question in parliament Thursday. Other European officials were more cautious. In France, a spokesman for the Foreign Ministry said he supported the International Criminal Court's prosecutor but declined to comment when asked more specifically if France would arrest Netanyahu if he were to step on French soil. “Today, combating impunity is our priority. We ratified the ICC Statute in 2000 and have consistently supported the court’s actions. Our response will align with these principles,” Christophe Lemoine told reporters at a press conference. Lemoine added that the warrants were “a complex legal issue ... It’s a situation that requires a lot of legal precautions.” In Italy, the foreign and justice ministries didn’t immediately respond to emails seeking comment about whether Italy, an ICC member which hosted the Rome conference that gave birth to the court, would honor the arrest warrant. Premier Giorgia Meloni hosted Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in March 2023 and has strongly supported Israel since Oct. 7, while providing humanitarian aid for Palestinians in Gaza. JERUSALEM — Israel’s mostly ceremonial president, Isaac Herzog, has called the International Criminal Court's arrest warrants against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu “a dark day for justice. A dark day for humanity.” In a post on X, he said the international court “has chosen the side of terror and evil over democracy and freedom, and turned the very system of justice into a human shield for Hamas’ crimes against humanity." Israel Katz, Israel’s new defense minister, said the decision was “a moral disgrace, entirely tainted by antisemitism, and drags the international judicial system to an unprecedented low.” He said it “serves Iran, the head of the snake, and its proxies.” Benny Gantz, a retired general and political rival to Netanyahu, also condemned the decision, saying it showed “moral blindness” and was a “shameful stain of historic proportion that will never be forgotten.” Hamas has welcomed the decision by the International Criminal Court to issue warrants against Israeli President Benjamin Netanyahu and his former defense minister Yoav Gallant, calling it an “important and historic precedent” after what it said was decades of injustice at the hands of a “fascist occupation.” The statement did not refer to the warrants issued for the militant group’s own leaders. Hamas called on all nations to “cooperate with the court in bringing the Zionist war criminals, Netanyahu and Gallant, to justice, and to work immediately to stop the crimes of genocide against innocent civilians in the Gaza Strip.” DEIR AL-BALAH, The Gaza Strip — Bakeries have reopened in the central Gaza Strip after being closed for several days because of flour shortages. The shortages appear to have been linked to the looting of nearly 100 truckloads of aid by armed men in southern Gaza last weekend. Associated Press footage showed a crowd of hundreds pushing and shouting outside a bakery in the central city of Deir al-Balah on Thursday. The day before the reopening, the price of a bag of 15 loaves of pita bread had climbed above $13. “In my house, there is not a morsel of bread, and the children are hungry,” said Sultan Abu Sultan, who was displaced from northern Gaza during the war. The amount of aid entering Gaza plunged in October as Israel launched a major offensive in the isolated north, where experts say famine may be underway . Hunger is widespread across the territory, even in central Gaza where aid groups have more access. Humanitarian organizations say Israeli restrictions, ongoing fighting and the breakdown of law and order make it difficult to deliver assistance. Israel’s offensive, launched after Hamas’ October 2023 attack, has displaced around 90% of Gaza’s population of 2.3 million people. Hundreds of thousands are crammed into tent camps with little in the way of public services and are reliant on international food aid. NICOSIA — The president of Cyprus says the European Union must play a bigger role in the Middle East as it can no longer stand by as an observer. President Nikos Christodoulides said the 27-member bloc needs to establish closer ties with countries that bolster regional stability like Egypt, Jordan and the Gulf states. “The conflict in the Middle East is taking place on the EU’s doorstep, in an area of vital interest to the bloc’s interests, where any escalation or regional spillover will have significant consequences on its security and stability,” Christodoulides told an Economist conference in the Cypriot capital. Christodoulides said EU member Cyprus for years has tried to get this message across to Brussels. The island nation earlier this year was the staging ground for a maritime corridor delivering some 20,000 tons of humanitarian aid to Gaza. The EU is wracked by members’ divisions over how peace should come about in the Middle East THE HAGUE — The International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants on Thursday for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, his former defense minister and Hamas officials, accusing them of war crimes and crimes against humanity over the war in Gaza and the October 2023 attacks that triggered Israel’s offensive in the Palestinian territory. The decision turns Netanyahu and the others into internationally wanted suspects and is likely to further isolate them and complicate efforts to negotiate a cease-fire to end the 13-month conflict. But its practical implications could be limited since Israel and its major ally, the United States, are not members of the court and several of the Hamas officials have been subsequently killed in the conflict. Netanyahu and other Israeli leaders have previously condemned ICC Chief Prosecutor Karim Khan’s request for the warrants as disgraceful and antisemitic. U.S. President Joe Biden also blasted the prosecutor and expressed support for Israel’s right to defend itself against Hamas. Hamas also slammed the request. The death toll in the Gaza Strip from the 13-month-old war between Israel and Hamas has surpassed 44,000, local health officials said Thursday. The Gaza Health Ministry does not distinguish between civilians and combatants in its count, but it has said that more than half of the fatalities are women and children. The Israeli military says it has killed over 17,000 militants, without providing evidence. The Health Ministry said 44,056 people have been killed and 104,268 wounded since the start of the war. It has said the real toll is higher because thousands of bodies are buried under rubble or in areas that medics cannot access. The war began when Hamas-led militants stormed into southern Israel on Oct. 7, 2023, killing some 1,200 people, mostly civilians, and abducting another 250 . Around 100 hostages are still inside Gaza, at least a third of whom are believed to be dead. Most of the rest were released during a cease-fire last year. Around 90% of Gaza's population of 2.3 million people have been displaced, often multiple times, and hundreds of thousands are living in squalid tent camps with little food, water or basic services. Israel says it tries to avoid harming civilians and blames their deaths on Hamas because the militants operate in residential areas, where they have built tunnels, rocket launchers and other military infrastructure. JERUSALEM — A rocket fired from Lebanon killed a man and wounded two others in northern Israel on Thursday, according to the Magen David Adom rescue service. The service said paramedics found the body of the man in his 30s near a playground in the town of Nahariya, near the border with Lebanon, after a rocket attack on Thursday. Israel meanwhile struck targets in southern Lebanon and several buildings south of Beirut, the Lebanese capital, after warning people to evacuate.None

Jerusalem: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu 's legal team has requested a 15-day postponement for the start of his testimony in his ongoing criminal trial, Israeli media reported on Sunday. The team argued that despite its best efforts, it will not be ready by the scheduled date of December 2, the report said. The request followed an earlier one by the team for a 10-week delay, which the court rejected on November 13, citing that Netanyahu had already been given five months to prepare for the trial since the date was set in July. The team said since the court's rejection, it had been working intensively with Netanyahu for preparation, including holding daily late-night meetings, but will still not be adequately prepared to begin testimony as scheduled, according to the media report. The International Criminal Court's recent issuance of an arrest warrant for Netanyahu on charges of "crimes against humanity and war crimes" between at least October 8, 2023 and May 20, 2024, has further complicated its ability to prepare, the team said. The trial, which began in early 2020, involves three separate cases in which Netanyahu is accused of accepting bribes, fraud and breach of trust. Netanyahu, Israel's longest-serving Prime Minister, has denied any wrongdoing, calling the trial a politically-motivated "witch hunt", Xinhua news agency reported. After more than a two-month pause due to the Israel-Hamas conflict, Netanyahu's trial resumed in early December 2023. If convicted, Netanyahu is expected to face severe penalties, including imprisonment, which would make him the first incumbent Israeli Prime Minister sentenced for criminal offences.Erik Pratt scores 20 as Milwaukee defeats North Central College 92-57

In this article ULTA Follow your favorite stocks CREATE FREE ACCOUNT Beauty products on the shelves at Ulta Beauty. Brian Cassella | Tribune News Service | Getty Images Ulta Beauty on Thursday beat Wall Street's fiscal third-quarter expectations, fending off fears of fiercer competition and slowing demand for makeup and skincare. The retailer hiked its full-year outlook slightly to reflect the better-than-expected results. For the fiscal year, it said it now expects net sales to range from $11.1 billion to $11.2 billion, compared with its previous guidance for $11 billion to $11.2 billion. It said it now expects full-year earnings per year to range from $23.20 to $23.75, up from $22.60 to $23.50. For the full year, the comparable sales forecast ranges from a decline of 1% to flat. The comparable sales metric tracks sales at Ulta stores open at least 14 months along with online sales, Despite the raised outlook, the company expects holiday-quarter comparable sales to decline by the low single digits. In a news release, CEO Dave Kimbell said he's "proud of the progress" the company's made and "encouraged by early signs that our efforts to reinforce our market position and drive improved performance are gaining traction." Here's what the beauty retailer reported for the three-month period ended Nov. 2 compared with what Wall Street was expecting, based on a survey of analysts by LSEG: Earnings per share: $5.14 vs. $4.54 expected Revenue: $2.53 billion vs. $2.50 billion expected Ulta shares rose more than 10% in after-hours trading. Beauty has been a strong category for many retailers, holding up over the past couple of years even as inflation stretched families' budgets and many shoppers pulled back on discretionary purchases. The category's resilience caused companies, including Target , Walmart , Kohl's and Macy's , to expand their offerings of makeup and skincare. Yet Ulta began to hint at potential troubles in April, with Kimbell warning of cooling beauty demand at an investor conference. In recent quarters, Ulta's results have reflected discerning shoppers and heightened competition. The company missed earnings results and cut its full-year outlook in August after a drop in same-store sales. It marked the first time that the retailer missed Wall Street's expectations in about four years. Shares of the company have fallen, too. As of Thursday's close, Ulta's stock is down about 19% so far this year, trailing the S&P 500's approximately 28% gains during the same period. For the fiscal third quarter, the retailer reported net income of $242.2 million, or $5.14 per share, compared with $249.5 million, or $5.07 per share, during the year-ago quarter. Revenue rose from $2.49 billion in the year-ago period. Comparable sales increased 0.6% year over year, as the retailer saw a tiny uptick in traffic and average ticket. Customer transactions across its website and stores grew 0.5% year over year and average ticket, the amount spent by shoppers during those visits, rose 0.1% year over year. On the company's earnings call, Kimbell said the launch of new brands, rollout of digital tools and in-store events helped drive Ulta's better performance in the quarter. For example, he said, Ulta is selling an exclusive line of makeup tied to the release of Universal 's "Wicked" movie. It also added new features for online, including virtual try-on enhancements and new digital buying guides. And it had in-store events, including workshops where customers received coaching from Ulta's stylists on how to get "salon-worthy blowouts" For beauty retailers, including Ulta, the holidays are a critical time of year. Kimbell said the company is "encouraged by our performance through Cyber Monday." Still, he hinted of a still challenging backdrop. He said the company is ready for the shopping season, even as "our insights suggest that economic concerns are driving a greater focus on value." On the earnings call, CFO Paula Oyibo said the company continues to take a "cautious view of the consumer and operating environment" and factored that into its forecast. She said the compressed holiday season, which has five fewer days between Thanksgiving and Christmas, could also hurt sales. Disclosure: Comcast is the parent company of NBCUniversal and CNBC. Each VLAN is a broadcast domain where hosts can communicate directly, while communication between different VLANs is restricted. As a result, broadcast messages are limited to a single VLAN. Content Why VLANs are Needed VLAN vs. Subnet VLAN Tag and VLAN ID Types of VLAN Interfaces and VLAN Tag Handling Mechanisms Usage Scenarios of VLANs Issues with VLANs in Cloud Environments Why VLANs are Needed Early Ethernet networks were data networking technologies based on CSMA/CD (Carrier Sense Multiple Access/Collision Detection) that used shared communication mediums. When the number of hosts increased, it led to serious collisions, broadcast storms, significant performance degradation, and even network outages. Although interconnecting LANs using Layer 2 devices could resolve collision issues, it still failed to isolate broadcast messages and improve network quality. This led to the development of VLAN technology, which partitions a LAN into several logical VLANs; each VLAN represents a broadcast domain, enabling communication within the VLAN as if it were a LAN while preventing inter-VLAN communication and confining broadcast messages within a VLAN. Image: https://www.aipuwaton.com/uploads/%E9%85%8D%E5%9B%BE1%EF%BC%88%E4%B8%BA%E4%BB%80%E4%B9%88%E9%9C%80%E8%A6%81VLAN-1.jpg Illustration 1: The Role of VLANs Thus, VLANs have the following advantages: Limiting Broadcast Domains: Broadcast domains are confined within a VLAN, conserving bandwidth and enhancing network processing capability. Enhancing LAN Security: Messages from different VLANs are isolated during transmission, meaning users within one VLAN cannot directly communicate with users in another VLAN. Increased Network Robustness: Faults are restricted to one VLAN, so issues within one VLAN do not affect the normal operation of other VLANs. Flexible Virtual Workgroup Construction: VLANs can divide users into different workgroups, allowing members of the same workgroup to operate without being restricted to a particular physical area, making network construction and maintenance easier and more flexible. VLAN vs. Subnet By further subdividing the network part of IP addresses into several subnets, the low utilization rate of IP address space and the rigidity of two-level IP addresses can be addressed. Similar to VLANs, subnets can also isolate communication between hosts. Hosts belonging to different VLANs cannot communicate directly, just as hosts in different subnets cannot. However, there is no direct correspondence between the two. VLAN SUBNET Difference Used to divide Layer 2 networks. After configuring VLAN interfaces, users in different VLANs can communicate only if routing is established. Up to 4094 VLANs can be defined; the number of devices within a VLAN is not limited. Relation Within the same VLAN, one or more subnets can be defined. VLAN Tag and VLAN ID To enable switches to distinguish messages from different VLANs, a field identifying VLAN information must be added to the messages. The IEEE 802.1Q protocol specifies that a 4-byte VLAN tag (known as VLAN Tag) be added to Ethernet data frames to identify VLAN information. Image: https://www.aipuwaton.com/uploads/%E9%85%8D%E5%9B%BE2%EF%BC%88VLAN-Tag%E5%92%8CVLAN-ID%EF%BC%89-2.jpg The VID field in the data frame identifies the VLAN to which the data frame belongs; the data frame can only be transmitted within its designated VLAN. The VID field represents the VLAN ID, which can range from 0 to 4095. Since 0 and 4095 are reserved by the protocol, the valid range for VLAN IDs is 1 to 4094. All data frames processed internally by the switch carry VLAN tags, while some devices (such as user hosts and servers) connected to the switch only send and receive traditional Ethernet frames without VLAN tags. Image: https://www.aipuwaton.com/uploads/%E9%85%8D%E5%9B%BE3%EF%BC%88VLAN%E9%97%B4%E7%94%A8%E6%88%B7%E7%9A%84%E4%BA%8C%E5%B1%82%E9%9A%94%E7%A6%BB%EF%BC%89-3.png Therefore, to interact with these devices, switch interfaces must recognize traditional Ethernet frames and add or strip VLAN tags during transmission. The VLAN tag added corresponds to the interface's default VLAN (Port Default VLAN ID, PVID). If user intercommunication is necessary, the interfaces between switches must be able to recognize and send data frames from multiple VLANs simultaneously. Depending on the connected objects and how the frames are processed, there are various types of VLAN interfaces to accommodate different connections and networking. Victoria's Secret & Co. Reports Third Quarter 2024 ResultsLONDON , NEW YORK , and SYDNEY , Dec. 22, 2024 /PRNewswire/ -- DAZN , a world-leading sports entertainment platform, has today announced an agreement to acquire Foxtel Group (' Foxtel ') from its majority shareholder News Corp and minority shareholder Telstra at an enterprise value of US$2.2 billion , subject to regulatory approval. The acquisition establishes DAZN as a leader in sports entertainment in Australia – a highly attractive sports market – while also expanding DAZN's global footprint and enhancing the group's standing as the global home of sport. The addition of Foxtel to DAZN brings the Group's pro-forma revenues towards US$6 billion and provides the additional content, expertise, and expansion opportunities to accelerate DAZN's growth trajectory. Foxtel is one of Australia's leading media companies, with 4.7 million subscribers, who will benefit from DAZN's extensive portfolio of sports content, platform technology, and global reach. From its beginnings as Australia's original pay-TV innovator, Foxtel has evolved to become a digital and streaming leader in sports and entertainment and the proposed transaction positions Foxtel for continued expansion as a digital-first, streaming-focused business. Foxtel will maintain its local character, led by the CEO, Patrick Delany , and his world-class management team. DAZN, a sports streaming platform with a truly global reach, is committed to growing the global audience for domestic Australian sports across the 200 territories in which it is available. Under the terms of the transaction, News Corp and Telstra will become minority shareholders in DAZN, enabling them to retain an interest in Foxtel. Shay Segev , Chief Executive Officer of DAZN, said: "Australians watch more sport than any other country in the world, which makes this deal an incredibly exciting opportunity for DAZN to enter a key market, marking another step in our long-term strategy to become the global home of sport. Foxtel is a successful business that has undergone a remarkable digital transformation in recent years, and we are confident that our global reach and relentless pursuit of innovation will continue to drive the business forward and ensure long-term success. "We are committed to supporting and investing in Foxtel's television and streaming services, across both sports and entertainment, using our world-leading technology to further enhance the viewing experience for customers. We are also committed to using our global reach to export Australia's most popular sports to new markets around the world, and we will continue to promote women's and under-represented sports. "We're looking forward to working closely with Patrick Delany and his team, as well as News Corp and Telstra as shareholders in DAZN, to realise our ambitious vision for the future of sport entertainment." Siobhan McKenna , the Chairman of Foxtel , said the agreement with DAZN was international recognition of the transformation of Foxtel from an incumbent pay TV operator to a sports and entertainment digital and streaming leader. "Over the last seven years the Foxtel team, with the strong support of News, have achieved an extraordinary turnaround in an intensely competitive environment." Foxtel Group CEO, Patrick Delany , said: "Today's announcement is a natural evolution for the Foxtel Group, having reinvented the company over the past five years as Australia's most dynamic technology-led streaming company. "Kayo and Foxtel provide Australian sports fans with access to the best Australian and international sport and shows, including AFL, NRL and Cricket with 4.7 million subscribers. "We are excited by DAZN's commitment to the Australian market. They are experts in the sports media business and can play a significant role in supporting Foxtel as the business grows its streaming capabilities, bringing a bigger and better service to customers across entertainment, news and sport. They are a perfect match for us as we look toward this next era of growth. "We have been grateful for the support of News Corp while we reimagined the future of Foxtel. In 2019, when we merged Foxtel and Fox Sports we had many people questioning our future. "After launching Kayo later in 2019 and BINGE in 2020, today we are the largest Australian-based streamer of sport and entertainment, we have stabilised our Foxtel base and launched Hubbl to help consumers find all the streamed content they love all in one place. This wouldn't have been possible without the support and encouragement of News Corp." To offer the left a shred of fairness, sure, things did get tough for them following President-elect Donald Trump’s Nov. 5 election victory — especially on X. And in response to the well-deserved gloating from conservatives, Republicans and MAGA alike, many members of the left have ditched the social media platform owned by Elon Musk, who is co-head of Trump’s newly minted . While the general surely saw them migrating to your Instagrams or your TikToks, no other social media platform appeared to benefit from the X exodus more than neophyte platform Bluesky — a Twitter/X clone in just about every way imaginable. Look at the way crowed about this. “#Xodus: Bluesky Hits 20M Users as People Continue to Flee X,” the left-leaning entertainment outlet extolled. Indeed, according to the Reporter, the numbers are undeniable. Bluesky has hit 20 million users, even gaining a million users a day during its peak growth period. The platform saw just six million users as recently as August, 11 million in late October, and 15 million as of Nov. 15. (For comparison’s sake, in early September, Elon Musk that X had 907 million unique visitors and 4.3 billion total visits to the platform the previous month.) Bluesky truly appears to be a haven for blue donkeys, and the numbers attest to that. But there are other numbers that are undeniable, as well, courtesy of Bluesky itself. In the past 24 hours, we have received more than 42,000 reports (an all-time high for one day). We’re receiving about 3,000 reports/hour. To put that into context, in all of 2023, we received 360k reports. We’re triaging this large queue so the most harmful content such as CSAM is removed quickly. — Bluesky Safety ( ) “In the past 24 hours, we have received more than 42,000 reports (an all-time high for one day),” the Bluesky Safety team posted to its platform on Nov. 15. “We’re receiving about 3,000 reports/hour. “To put that into context, in all of 2023, we received 360k reports.” Of particularly notable concern, the safety team added: “We’re triaging this large queue so the most harmful content such as [child sexual abuse material] is removed quickly.” To say nothing of the CSAM content, that whole post is a bit telling, no? A public square is flooded by whiny leftists, and complaints exponentially skyrocket? That should tell you everything you need to know about the modern left in a nutshell. Leftism, at its core, is about division, and that’s why it just doesn’t work. Oh sure, it pretends to be all-inclusive, but inclusivity is the antithesis of intersectionality, and the latter is the primary currency of the left. You’re not black enough, you’re not the right sort of Asian, whatever “LatinX” was ... there’s going to be some aggrieved party within leftist ideology. The entire scam crumbles on itself the instant two parties are treated like true equals. This obviously isn’t to say X doesn’t have content moderation issues of its own (the platform is inundated with porn bots and dubious advertising), but at least it treats its users like adults on a level playing field. Community Notes are an equalizer, not a hall monitor, and add just enough law to an otherwise wild-west social media platform. If you can’t compete with your ideas in that forum, that says far more about you than the platform. Look, Bluesky may very well end up as the premiere social media platform one day. It’s just not going to happen anytime soon, if the best thing the space is known for is that it’s where all the leftist Karens hang out. In a significant media industry move, Rupert Murdoch's News Corp announced the sale of its Australian cable and streaming division, Foxtel, to British sports streaming platform DAZN. The deal, valued at A$3.4 billion (equivalent to $2.1 billion), encompasses Foxtel's existing debt. This strategic transaction will see News Corp retaining a 6% stake in DAZN, a company under the ownership of billionaire Len Blavatnik. The divestment allows News Corp, recognized for its prominent publications like the Wall Street Journal, to steer clear of the challenges posed by traditional subscription models in an age of streaming giants like Netflix. Further, telecommunications giant Telstra will offload its 35% stake in Foxtel, emerging with a 3% stake in DAZN. The acquisition, pending regulatory clearance, is expected to finalize in the latter half of fiscal 2025, meanwhile shares of News Corp and Telstra have reacted positively to the announcement. Many people are wondering if AI can coexist peacefully and productively alongside a broad human workforce with diverse talents, skills, and abilities. I believe that AI isn't coming to — it's coming to take away tasks. 80% of employees' time is consumed by low-value, repetitive, time-intensive, uninteresting tasks, while only 20% gets devoted to the more interesting activities that generate higher value for the organization. What if we could flip that ratio? What if we could free humans to solve, build, and create? That's what I believe AI can do. In the process, this new AI paradigm can unlock the value of an accelerated and more fulfilling career. I strongly believe that what we invent today can lead to a profound impact on the world — changing industries and people's lives. Marie Kondo-ing with AI Thoughtfully deployed, generative and help people find more meaning in their work. It can free you to work on the parts of your job that are more interesting and more valuable — the reasons you got into your profession in the first place. I think the applies: If the task doesn't spark joy, let AI take it from you. Our goal must be to kindle (or rekindle) our joy, to bring out curiosity and creativity, and to reimagine what's possible, now that we're no longer burdened with an assortment of mundane tasks. In a sense, AI can give each of us a job promotion, not be a job replacement. There will be short-term displacement but it will self-correct Of course, the widescale adoption of Gen AI will have impacts and implications, and it would be foolhardy to ignore them. Increased productivity and greater cost efficiencies will inevitably lead to — for example, contact centers with faster resolution times need fewer workers. However, I believe that AI will also in such a macroeconomic picture. Efforts must be made to close wage disparities and potential economic or opportunity gaps. Community colleges should offer guided and hands-on training to ensure AI is accessible to the broadest areas of our workforce. Similarly, technology companies must offer to promote AI's widespread adoption and use. I believe AI can cut the time for this upskilling process in half and foresee a world where nearly anyone can be an app builder and creator or where a junior technician can do senior-level repairs. Decisions should still be made by humans Whether it's conversational search, agent assistants, image creation, or other forms of intelligent automation, AI becomes a supportive foundation that translates into time — time to evaluate, investigate, strategize — and solves problems. AI will give us access to a nearly limitless set of highly accurate, data-driven predictions. Nonetheless, decisions shouldn't be automated. They should remain the sole province of humans, who have a better understanding of tradeoffs, nuances, and strategies. Here are some examples of how humans can work alongside AI: By being able to focus on decisions and outcomes, we unlock new creativity that we can channel to solving bigger and harder problems. With this new era of generative AI discovery, there has never been a better time to transform businesses and work as we know it. Taragi Cheisu and six other groups asked the UN on Sunday to pressure India to arrest those responsible for killing three women and three children in Jiribam. Imphal: A prominent Manipur-based think tank, Taragi Cheisu, along with six other organisations, on Sunday urged the United Nations to pressure the Indian government into arresting those responsible for the brutal killing of three women and three children at Jakuradhor in Jiribam district. In a memorandum addressed to the UN Secretary-General, the organisations demanded immediate action under the Geneva Convention Act, of 1960, and relevant domestic laws. They called for the arrest and punishment of the perpetrators of the "Jakuradhor massacre" and sought the formation of an independent judicial inquiry commission to investigate the killings. The organisations insisted that the inquiry be led by a retired Supreme Court judge and recommended the deputation of a UN special rapporteur to oversee the probe. The memorandum also appealed to the National Commission for Women (NCW) to visit the site and release a detailed report on the killings. It further requested the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) to ensure justice for the victims. Additionally, the groups urged for the repeal of the Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA), citing its contentious role in Manipur. The appeal to the UN was jointly submitted by organisations including the Youth Collective Manipur, Manipur Students Association Delhi, Manipur International Youth Centre, and others. They emphasised the urgency of addressing what they termed a gross violation of human rights. The killings at Jakuradhor occurred amidst heightened ethnic tensions in Manipur. The region has long grappled with violence stemming from ethnic and political conflicts. The Armed Forces Special Powers Act, in effect in Manipur, has been a focal point of contention for years, with activists and local groups claiming it enables excesses by security forces.
