The Wildcats (9-4), ranked No. 15 in the FCS coaches poll and seeded 15th, qualified for the playoffs for the first time and will travel to play No. 2 seed and nine-time champion North Dakota State (10-2) on Saturday at the Fargo Dome. The Bison had a first-round bye. Abilene Christian grabbed a 7-0 lead on its second possession when Carson Haggard connected with Trey Cleveland for a 37-yard touchdown that capped a 10-play 97-yard drive. Northern Arizona (8-5), ranked 17th but unseeded for the playoffs after winning five straight to get in, picked off Haggard on the Wildcats' next two possessions but could not turn them into points. NAU went for it on fourth-and-goal at the 1-yard line with 9:30 left before halftime, but Jordan Mukes tackled Ty Pennington for a 4-yard loss. That led to a 46-yard field goal by Ritse Vaes and a 10-0 lead at halftime. The score remained the same until Hicks' big run with 10:16 left to play. Haggard passed 6 yards to Blayne Taylor for the final score with 2:16 to go. Haggard completed 23 of 29 passes for 244 yards with three interceptions. Abilene Christian's defense allowed at least 20 points in every game during the regular season and yielded at least 30 six times. The Wildcats lost their season opener to FBS member Texas Tech 52-51 in overtime. Abilene Christian's last shutout came in a 56-0 victory over Lamar on Sept. 25, 2021. The palm oil industry is a cornerstone of Malaysia’s economy and has not only contributed to Malaysia’s GDP but also transformed rural livelihoods.Lifting the ban on oil palm plantation can bring similar economic benefits to Sri Lanka said Badli Hisham Adam High Commissioner of Malaysia to Sri Lanka at the fourth Palm Oil Industry Association of Sri Lanka, AGM recently. “As one of the world’s leading producers and exporters of palm oil, we have gained significant expertise in cultivation of Palm oil and this sector significantly contributes to GDP and foreign exchange earnings in Malaysia, creating employment and reducing rural poverty. Our smallholders account for nearly 40% of Malaysia’s production, with the industry providing them with a stable income and resources for capacity-building.’ The Malaysian government has pioneered efforts in sustainable palm oil production, including certification schemes like the Malaysian Sustainable Palm Oil (MSPO). These lessons are transferable to Sri Lanka’s palm oil sector, particularly as the country seeks to balance import dependency with domestic cultivation, ensuring economic and environmental sustainability. “I visited the Nakiyadeniya estate, where Palm oil cultivation was introduced in Sri Lanka. ‘‘The dedication to sustainable practices and obtaining Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) certification sets a commendable example for the industry. ‘The plantation’s integration of community welfare through corporate social responsibility (CSR) is equally inspiring.’’ It is worth emphasizing that Sri Lanka’s approach to palm oil cultivation has avoided many of the criticisms faced by the global industry, such as deforestation and habitat loss. By repurposing lands where other crops have outlived their economic lifespan, Sri Lanka has adopted a sustainable model worth emulating.’’ Moreover, Palm Oil offers significant health benefits. Both Malaysia and Indonesia are ready to share our experience and help Lanka’s local industry in innovations and help develop advanced technologies and solutions to address industry challenges. The Palm Oil Industry Association has made remarkable contributions to promoting sustainability, innovation, and growth in Sri Lanka’s palm oil sector. These efforts are especially commendable given the challenges faced globally and locally.

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — President-elect Donald Trump said Saturday he intends to nominate real estate developer Charles Kushner, father of Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner, to serve as ambassador to France. Trump made the announcement in a Truth Social post, calling Charles Kushner ''a tremendous business leader, philanthropist, & dealmaker." Kushner is the founder of Kushner Companies, a real estate firm. Jared Kushner is a former White House senior adviser to Trump who is married to Trump's eldest daughter, Ivanka. The elder Kushner was pardoned by Trump in December 2020 after pleading guilty years earlier to tax evasion and making illegal campaign donations. Prosecutors alleged that after Charles Kushner discovered his brother-in-law was cooperating with federal authorities in an investigation, he hatched a scheme for revenge and intimidation. Kushner hired a prostitute to lure his brother-in-law, then arranged to have the encounter in a New Jersey motel room recorded with a hidden camera and the recording sent to his own sister, the man's wife, prosecutors said. Kushner eventually pleaded guilty to 18 counts including tax evasion and witness tampering. He was sentenced in 2005 to two years in prison — the most he could receive under a plea deal, but less than what Chris Christie, the U.S. attorney for New Jersey at the time and later governor and Republican presidential candidate, had sought. Christie has blamed Jared Kushner for his firing from Trump's transition team in 2016, and has called Charles Kushner's offenses ''one of the most loathsome, disgusting crimes that I prosecuted when I was U.S. attorney.'' Trump and the elder Kushner knew each other from real estate circles and their children were married in 2009. ___ Tucker reported from Newtown, Pennsylvania.SS&C Signs Agreement with Insignia Financial
