INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — The Indianapolis Colts drafted Anthony Richardson to be their franchise quarterback. On Sunday, they saw how he might be deployed most effectively. Richardson threw only 11 passes in Indy’s 38-30 victory over slumping Tennessee , becoming just the third player since 2000 to produce 38 points with fewer than 15 passing attempts. But the second-year quarterback and running back Jonathan Taylor executed the game plan perfectly by combining for 38 carries, 308 yards and four scores. “My job is to pass the ball, deliver the ball, so whenever there’s an opportunity to do so, I’m expected to complete passes, regardless of how long I’ve gone without throwing a pass,” Richardson said. “I’m just trying to do my job the best way I can.” While his stats have not improved dramatically since he regained the starting job, Richardson has made significant progress. Three boys who went missing Wednesday evening were found early the next morning after an intensive search. Parker County Sheriff's deputies were contacted Dec. 18 around 8:30 p.m. that three juveniles had gone missing in the area surrounding Deere Lane in northern Parker County. “We received the report and took immediate action knowing the juveniles were on foot, without cell communications, that nightfall had already set in and temperatures were dropping to concerning levels,” said Authier, adding the description of the juveniles ages 9, 10, and 11, were disseminated to area agencies en masse by “Be On The Look Out" alerts through telecommunications. Several departments responded to the area, including Reno-Briar Fire Department, Tarrant County Sheriff's Office, Texas Department of Public Safety Safety Aviation Unit, Lt./Pilot Lacey and Sgt./TFO Gunnels and troopers, Parker County ESD firefighters and Search One K-9 Units. Parents of the children reported the boys got off of a school bus together and went to the home of one of the boys. They were last seen together on foot, between 5:30 and 6 p.m., further reporting it was unusual for the boys to wander off without returning. Law enforcement officers and emergency personnel met sheriff’s deputies to canvass the neighborhoods, going door-to-door, searching businesses, woods, creeks, property, buildings and surrounding areas. Sheriff’s deputies reported the terrain was rough and did not allow for equipment to continue into the depth of the woods. Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office also lent their drone to cover the area where four-wheelers were unable to continue and Texas DPS launched their helicopter, using infrared technology to canvass the area by air. Authier said without their assistance, the search would have taken much longer, and resources could have very well been depleted. He also attributed the collective response from surrounding agencies to the safe recovery of the juveniles within hours. “The helicopter pilot and crew relayed constant radio communications with the drone, K-9 unit and ground team,” said Authier. “We are pleased to state the boys, although cold and [with] sustained minor scratches from walking through areas filled with brush, were located at 3:06 a.m., in the 1000 block of South Reno Road, otherwise in good health.” The boys told law enforcement officers they were exploring a nearby creek and were unfamiliar with the wooded area when they became lost, but they kept together. Once the pilot spotted the boys with his on-board FLIR (Forward Looking Infrared) system, he directed sheriff’s deputies to their location through the brush via radio communications. Emergency medical personnel also evaluated the juveniles, who were released to their parents. “We would like to thank every agency, telecommunicator and team member who responded to assist in the search,” said Authier. “Multi-agency cooperative response and effort are required, particularly in search-and-rescue missions which are of such vital standing.” Texas DPS Capt. Saben Emery also commended the law enforcement officers and first responders involved in the search efforts of the juveniles. “There’s no greater reward in this job than finding missing children,” he said in an e-mail to the sheriff's office. “And with temperatures near freezing, minutes matter. Lowe, who had a triple-double Monday against VMI, led the Panthers with eight rebounds and six assists. While Pitt made its first five shots of the second half, LSU (4-1) missed its first 12 until Cam Carter scored on a layup with 13:14 left in the game. Pitt scored in a variety of ways to seize a 40-28 lead that included one of Lowe’s four 3-pointers, dunks from Austin and Corhen, 2-point baskets from Leggett and Damian Dunn and Austin’s two foul shots. LSU cut the lead to 43-38 with 10:52 left, but Lowe answered with consecutive 3s in a span of 61 seconds. Eventually, Pitt’s lead ballooned to 51-40 when Lowe hit a 2-point jumper, concluding a run of eight points in a row by the sophomore point guard. The Tigers responded, however, and only trailed 58-54 with 5:26 left. Early in the game, strong defense — or poor shooting — kept the score low, with the teams combining to miss 23 of their first 33 shots. Pitt came into the game shooting 51.3% from the field and averaging 88.2 points, but the Panthers ended the half trailing 28-27 while shooting 31.3% (10 of 32), with six turnovers. They also lost the rebound battle in the first 20 minutes 24-18. Pitt grabbed an early lead and held it through most of the first half, thanks in part to 3-point shots from Austin, Lowe, Brandin Cummings and Leggett in a span of six minutes. After its early shooting slump, LSU recovered from its largest first-half deficit (18-10) and got consecutive 3s from Jalen Reed and Jordan Sears. Lowe made a steal late in the first half, drove to the basket and set up Corhen with an alley-oop dunk and a 25-20 lead. Later in the half in a half-court offensive set, Lowe and Corhen combined for a similar basket, but LSU took its 28-27 lead at intermission when Lowe complained to officials after a turnover and was given a technical foul. LSU’s Carter made one of two foul shots for the Tigers’ halftime margin.
