We knew this is the first week where we don't have a midweek game, so I think the whole group probably needs a couple of days just to get away from everything and recover. "It'll do them good to have a couple of days to themselves with their families and give them a chance to recover mentally as much as physically." Spurs have now failed to win at home in their last five league games - an unwanted feat not managed since 2008. While seven wins in 19 league games means they are a point nearer to the relegation zone than they are to the top four. Yet Postecoglou still believes his side can achieve something in the league this season. The Aussie, whose team are through to the Carabao Cup semi-finals and still in Europe, added: "I just feel that at some point we'll get a relatively healthy squad and when we do that we'll be able to perform at a high level consistently and we've already shown this year we can beat anyone. "There's a chance there you can go on a run. "But at the moment that's secondary to the first bit, we have to try to get some support for the players - both mentally and physically and in terms of numbers to give them the opportunity to play at their best." Meanwhile, Rodrigo Bentancur is now banned for Saturday’s hosting of Newcastle after a needless foul in stoppage time on Rodrigo Gomes earned him his fifth yellow card of the season. Had he waited a week, the cautions picked up in the first half of the campaign would have been wiped. An update on two of the Vancouver Canucks’ top players, though maybe not the most positive. When speaking to the media on Sunday, head coach Rick Tocchet revealed that neither forward Elias Pettersson nor captain Quinn Hughes will be joining the team on its upcoming road trip. He said that Hughes is “week-to-week” with an upper-body injury, while Pettersson is expected to return to the lineup in a week. Tocchet says neither Hughes nor Pettersson will make road trip to Calgary & Seattle. Says Pettersson is a week away and Hughes is ‘week to week’ #Canucks Both players were noticeably out of the lineup when the Canucks took on the Seattle Kraken . They will miss the road trip, which will see Vancouver visit the Calgary Flames on New Year’s Eve, before visiting the Kraken on Thursday. Pettersson was hurt during the Canucks’ last game prior to the break. In a 4-3 victory over the San Jose Sharks , he was reportedly banged up in the second period before leaving the game entirely after just one shift in the third. Tocchet said after the win, “I don’t think it’s too bad.” It hasn’t been reported what exactly Hughes hurt that could cause him to miss an extended period of time. The 25-year-old was a game-time decision for the game against the Sharks with an undisclosed injury. He registered 24:45 of ice time in the victory, recording two assists in the win. Both players have been fairly healthy over the past couple of seasons. Each has appeared in all 34 of Vancouver’s games this season, with both playing the full 82-game schedule during the 2023-24 campaign, including each of the team’s 13 games in its run to the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Pettersson played 80 games in both the 2021-22 and 2022-23 seasons, while Hughes missed four games two years ago, playing 76 games the season before that. So far, Hughes leads the Canucks with 42 points, scoring eight goals and 34 assists. He ranks second in the NHL in scoring among defensemen, only trailing Colorado Avalanche star Cale Makar. Pettersson is second on the Vancouver roster behind Hughes with 10 goals and 18 assists for 28 points. The Canucks (17-10-8) hold the first Wild Card spot in the Western Conference and are fourth in the Pacific Division, nine points behind the first-place Vegas Golden Knights . Apple’s investment in the UK over the last five years has now surpassed £18 billion, with the technology giant’s engineering teams in the country doubling in that time, the iPhone maker has said. The US tech giant said it now supported 550,000 jobs in the UK through direct employment, its supply chain and the economy around its App Store – with app developers having earned nearly £9 billion since it launched in 2008. Apple said its engineering teams were carrying out critical work on the firm’s biggest services, including key technology within Apple Intelligence, the iPhone maker’s suite of generative AI-powered tools which are expected to launch in the UK for the first time this week. Elsewhere, the firm said its growing TV empire, spearheaded by its Apple TV+ streaming service and production arm, had also helped boost its investment in the UK with Apple TV+ production in this country tripling in the last two years, the company said. “We’re thrilled to be growing our Apple teams here, and to keep supporting the extraordinary innovators, creators, and entrepreneurs who are pushing the boundaries of technology in so many ways.” The Chancellor Rachel Reeves said companies such as Apple were “intrinsic” to the UK’s prosperity by boosting jobs. “This government is laser focused on creating the right conditions for growth to help put more money in people’s pockets. “That’s what underpins the Plan for Change and is what has driven £63 billion worth of inward investment in the UK through our first international investment summit. “Companies like Apple are intrinsic to the success of our nation’s prosperity – helping deliver jobs, innovative technology, and boost infrastructure.”Atlanta Medical Institute Celebrates Over 1 Million Pounds Lost and Unveils Exclusive Semaglutide Offer 11-25-2024 08:56 PM CET | Sports Press release from: ABNewswire Atlanta Medical Institute Atlanta Medical Institute celebrates helping over 50,000 patients lose over 1 million pounds in the past decade.
