Sam Konstas is about to join two cult heroes, a one-Test wonder, Italy’s national captain and a fellow Cranbrook alumni in cricket’s quirkiest groups. And on Thursday, Konstas will add his own twist to the list of Australian Boxing Day debutants, when the 19-year-old becomes the nation’s youngest ever male Test opener. Konstas will become Australian men’s Text cricketer No.468 when he debuts against India at the MCG and the 14th to do so on Boxing Day. In a list as unique as it is diverse, Australia’s Boxing Day debutants range from the nation’s equal-most capped player in Steve Waugh to a one-Test quick in Matthew Nicholson. A young TikToker learning to live with long COVID educates about chronic illnessPrincelings refer to the second generation of the founders of communist China. In a Dec. 14 interview with Chinese-language program “Pinnacle View” on NTD, a sister media outlet of The Epoch Times, Yuan Hongbing, a former Peking University law professor, talked about the letter. He said that Liu Yuan—a retired general and the son of a prominent first-generation CCP leader, Liu Shaoqi—allegedly authored the letter, warning that the CCP would face its demise if it continued on its current path under Party leader Xi Jinping. As the CCP’s first-ranking vice chairman, Liu’s father was once considered the successor of Chinese communist leader Mao Zedong before being purged during the Cultural Revolution. Yuan was Xi’s drinking buddy in the 1980s before Xi rose to power and has also maintained connections with some senior officials. Before Xi came to power in 2012, China followed the path set by Deng Xiaoping’s economic reform policies, which relaxed some state control in the technology and real estate sectors and opened part of the Chinese market to foreign investments. The princelings, of which Xi is a prominent member, became increasingly worried that if China continued on Deng’s path, the Party wouldn’t be able to continue ruling the country with the communist ideology and capitalist market under one roof. They feared this would ultimately lead people to abandon communism, causing China to break away from the CCP’s control. Consequently, Xi made a left turn in his economic policies. The letter warns that it would be a grave mistake for the CCP to expect the Chinese people to support the Party in any circumstance as they did during the late 1950s, when tens of millions died in the Great Famine, as the public’s mindset has drastically shifted. If such a crisis were to occur again, the author wrote, the CCP would face an inevitable overthrow. The author called the CCP’s efforts to unify Taiwan a failure and warned that a potential war with Taiwan would likely devastate much of China’s coastal provinces—its most developed regions—further destabilizing the CCP. The letter offers recommendations, including transforming the CCP into a social democratic party. However, Yuan expressed doubt. “The reality is that the CCP’s oppressive rule has caused immense suffering to the Chinese people—a grave injustice that will not be forgiven,” he said. “The princelings deeply fear that the CCP will collapse amid the widespread contempt of the people. They hope to avoid such a humiliating end for the Party.” Further, Yuan said the international community is “slowly moving away from its policy of appeasement toward the CCP’s regime.” “The era of hoping that the CCP will adhere to international norms or expecting any meaningful cooperation from the CCP must end,” he said. “Coexistence with the CCP is simply impossible—either communist rule will dominate the world or humanity will eventually eradicate the remnants of communism. The Wishfield Journal event is in progress in Infinity Nikki , giving players a new way to gain some Resonance Crystals, which are used to get epic outfits and a fresh new Card background. The second day of this event is called Moments of Travel, and it’s photography-based. You’ll unlock the camera relatively early in the story after visiting the Wishing Tree in Florawish. After talking to the two children there, someone will snap your photo and give you a camera as a gift to thank you for allowing them to submit the picture to a magazine. Not only is this very generous of them, but it also unlocks the photo mode in-game, which is undeniably brilliant. How to complete Moments of Travel in Infinity Nikki To complete day two of the Wishfield Journal event, Moments of Travel, you’ll need to take four specific photos using your new camera, each with certain requirements. The easiest is “Catching the Sunshine”, which requires you to take a photo with the sun in the background. This can be done anywhere during the day as long as the light from the sun is present in the photo. The rest are more complicated, so let’s look at how to complete them. This is possibly the hardest one to figure out, and if you haven’t spent hours aimlessly exploring the map, there’s a high chance that you won’t have unlocked this area just yet. To find the Abandoned Fanatic Wisher Camp, you’ll need to venture far southwest of Florawish until you find a large peninsula sticking out to the west of the map, which is almost entirely taken up by the Camp itself: Unfortunately, there is no fast way to get to this location, especially if you’ve not unlocked any of the southern Warp Spires. You can speed up the process by hiring a Whimcycle, but even then, the journey will take you a while. Either way, make sure to activate any Warp Spires that you come across along the way. Be warned, the entire camp is filled with Esselings to take out, including some with shields that you’ll need to attack from behind. When you’ve dealt with them, you’ll be able to locate the cavern needed for this objective. Don’t waste time looking for an arch in the rock; it’s actually a hole in the ground that you need to find, and I’ve marked the location on the map below: When you’ve jumped down the hole, venture further down the path, and take a picture of the space inside, you’ll be able to check off this objective and get your reward. Thankfully, the Swan Gazebo is substantially easier to find than the hidden cavern for the previous quest. If you have unlocked the Bug Catcher’s Cabin Warp Spire, you can head there and go east. Otherwise, you’re still in for a bit of a trek. The Swan Gazebo can be found on the circular platform on the eastern shore, just south of the Fishing Association that you visited during day one’s Whimstar Collection objectives, flanked by two small peninsulas to the north and south, as shown on the map below: You can be in this photo or not, but it’s a very scenic spot to take some shots and get to grips with everything that can be done with the photo mode in Infinity Nikki. You should have unlocked the Dream Warehouse Warp Spire by this point, especially if you’ve completed day one’s Whimstar Collec tion objectives. However, if you haven’t, the Dream Warehouse can be found to the north of Florawish town. It is the tallest of the three buildings, which poses the problem of getting up to the roof. To get up there, you’ll need to carefully use the ruins to the right of the tower itself to gradually climb higher. This can get frustrating, but keep at it, and you’ll eventually reach the Dream Warehouse Rooftop Warp Spire.
