UConn head coach Dan Hurley insists he's not overvaluing Wednesday night's game between his 25th-ranked Huskies and No. 15 Baylor in Storrs, Conn. Sure, it comes on the heels of the two-time reigning national champion Huskies (5-3) responding to losing all three games during the Maui Invitational with a blowout victory over Maryland Eastern Shore on Saturday. UConn, which had won 17 consecutive games entering the Maui tournament, fell 23 spots from No. 2 to nearly out of the Associated Press Top 25 poll released Monday. "I think it's such a long season and we're eight games in," Hurley said when asked about facing the Bears. "Our performance in Maui shocked the college basketball world and the sports world, and obviously a lot went on there." "I don't think it's a must-win game in Game 9 of the season, but it's an opportunity to play in Gampel (Pavilion), where we play great and are very comfortable, and we know we're gonna have a great crowd." "We also know we're playing a top-level team, so it's a big game for us and it's a big game for them." Wednesday's game signifies the start of a tough stretch in UConn's schedule. The Huskies will visit Texas on Sunday and challenge No. 7 Gonzaga in New York on Dec. 14 before beginning Big East play on Dec. 18 against Xavier, which fell from No. 22 to out of the poll on Monday. But let's go back to Saturday's 99-45 dismantling of the Hawks. Jaylin Stewart started in place of the injured Alex Karaban (head) and joined Liam McNeeley by scoring 16 points to put UConn back in the win column. Solo Ball contributed 12 points, Aidan Mahaney had 11 and Tarris Reed Jr. (10 points, 12 rebounds) and Jayden Ross (10 points, 10 rebounds) each recorded a double-double. "This experience they're getting, (Stewart), Jayden Ross, Solo Ball, these guys are going to keep getting better and better," Hurley said. "Jaylin Stewart has flashed. That Memphis game (in which he scored 16 points on 7-of-9 shooting), he flashed a lot in that one. "... These sophomores are just going to keep getting better and better. That's why I do think we do need the grace and support of our people here at UConn. Because they're going to be such different players in January and February." On Tuesday, Hurley told reporters that Karaban would remain out for Wednesday's game. Coming off a split in the Bahamas, Baylor (5-2) bounced back from a 77-62 setback to then-No. 11 Tennessee on Nov. 22 with a decisive 91-60 victory over New Orleans last Wednesday. "I know we're all a little tired," Bears coach Scott Drew said. "Whenever you come back from the Bahamas and a trip like that, the first game, you can be playing in mud. And I think the guys did a pretty good job, for the most part." Jayden Nunn drained six of his seven 3-pointers in the first half and finished with a season-high 23 points to power Baylor past the Privateers. Robert Wright III scored 18 points, Jeremy Roach had 17 and Miami transfer Norchad Omier recorded his third consecutive double-double after finishing with 12 points and a season-high 13 rebounds. --Field Level MediaTory Baroness who said offensive racial remark faces three-week suspension

The decision by Tesco, Musgrave and the BWG Group came after a woman who said Mr McGregor raped her won a civil claim for damages against him. Nikita Hand, who accused the sportsman of raping her in a Dublin hotel in December 2018, won her claim against him for damages in a case at the High Court in the Irish capital. In a statement, a spokesman for Musgrave said: “Musgrave can confirm these products are no longer available to our store network.” The network includes SuperValu, Centra, Daybreak and Mace. A Tesco spokesperson said: “We can confirm that we are removing Proper No Twelve Whiskey from sale in Tesco stores and online.” A spokesperson for BWG Group said: “The products are no longer listed for distribution across our network of Spar, Eurospar, Mace, Londis and XL stores, including Appleby Westward which operates over 300 Spar stores in the south west of England.” It is understood that other retail outlets including Costcutter and Carry Out will also stop stocking products linked to Mr McGregor. He and some of his business partners sold their majority stake in the Proper Number Twelve Irish whiskey brand. He was reported to have been paid more than £103 million from the sale to Proximo Spirits in 2021. On Monday, a popular video game developer decided to pull content featuring the MMA fighter. The Irish athlete has featured in multiple video games, including voice-acting a character bearing his likeness in additional downloadable content in the Hitman series. Mr McGregor’s character featured as a target for the player-controlled assassin in the game. IO Interactive, the Danish developer and publisher of Hitman, said in a statement: “In light of the recent court ruling regarding Conor McGregor, IO Interactive has made the decision to cease its collaboration with the athlete, effective immediately. “We take this matter very seriously and cannot ignore its implications. “Consequently, we will begin removing all content featuring Mr McGregor from our storefronts starting today.” Last Friday, the High Court jury awarded damages amounting to 248,603.60 euros (around £206,000) to Ms Hand. Mr McGregor made no comment as he left court but later posted on social media that he intended to appeal against the decision.Christine Van Geyn: Trudeau shouldn’t tie online harms bureaucracy to child protection laws
Info-Tech Research Group's newly published blueprint provides technology service providers (TSPs) with practical strategies to become trusted partners in the cyber insurance industry, bridging critical service gaps and driving operational efficiency across the entire cyber insurance lifecycle, from risk assessment to claims management. TORONTO , Dec. 10, 2024 /PRNewswire/ - As AI-driven threats escalate and cybersecurity vulnerabilities evolve, the cyber insurance industry faces mounting pressure to adapt to a rapidly changing risk landscape. Insurers are raising eligibility requirements, leaving organizations struggling to meet heightened expectations while balancing cost, coverage, and effective risk management. To address these challenges, Info-Tech Research Group's newly published blueprint, Launch Cyber Insurance Support Services , provides technology service providers (TSPs) with a strategic framework to help their clients meet rising requirements and navigate the complexities of the cyber insurance lifecycle. This resource equips TSPs with practical strategies to position themselves as indispensable partners throughout the cyber insurance lifecycle. By offering tailored advisory and cybersecurity services that meet the needs of both policyholders and insurers, TSPs can bridge service gaps while optimizing processes such as risk assessment, claims management, and policy renewal. "Today, the cyber insurance industry stands at an inflection point, recognizing that previous approaches to security were ineffective and unsustainable," says Justin St-Maurice , principal research director at Info-Tech Research Group . "Insurers now demand robust due diligence and comprehensive security controls, meaning only organizations with mature security postures will qualify for coverage. As the bar for insurance eligibility continues to rise, customers around the world are scrambling to meet these new requirements." Info-Tech's blueprint emphasizes the critical role of TSPs in bridging the gap between insurers and policyholders. While insurers focus on assuming calculated risks, TSPs can mitigate these risks by providing proactive strategies and cybersecurity enhancements that meet rising industry standards. Acting as strategic intermediaries, TSPs are uniquely positioned to align, ensuring robust security measures are in place to prevent breaches, minimize losses, and maintain insurability. By aligning their services with both insurer requirements and customer needs, TSPs can drive operational efficiency while supporting critical processes throughout the insurance journey. Info-Tech's resource outlines the following seven key stages in the cyber insurance lifecycle, detailing how TSPs can deliver value at each step: Risk Assessment – Perform detailed cyber risk quantification and vulnerability identification to assess exposure and ensure alignment with requirements. Policy Selection – Translate risk assessments into financial terms and recommend policies that meet risk-transfer needs. Underwriting – Prepare comprehensive documentation, support onsite audits, and advocate for the organization's cybersecurity posture to insurers. Implementation and Maintenance – Continuously monitor, audit, and test cybersecurity controls and perform regular penetration testing to maintain compliance. Incident Response – Coordinate incident response with insurers by providing regular updates, avoiding duplication of effort, and ensuring all entitled services are used. Claims Management – Provide detailed claims documentation, resolve disputes through technical evidence, and validate compliance with policy requirements. Policy Renewal – Assess the effectiveness of modernized cybersecurity practices, review insurance usage, and renew policies based on current risk and innovation. The evolving threat landscape and increasing complexity of insurance requirements have created a unique opportunity for TSPs to expand their influence. By aligning their services with insurer standards and providing tailored support to policyholders, TSPs can reduce breach risks, streamline processes, and establish themselves as indispensable players in a growing market. Through the actionable strategies outlined in Info-Tech's blueprint, TSPs can not only meet but exceed these expectations, strengthening relationships and fostering trust across the cyber insurance ecosystem. Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has advised Osun state governor, Ademola Adeleke, not to be distracted by his critics but to remain focused in his development plan. The former president who inaugurated 2.7 kilometre old garage-Lameco road in Osogbo, Tuesday, as part of activities marking the second year in office of Adeleke, praised Adeleke for surprising people that he is not just dancing but also performing. Obasanjo posited that Adeleke’s achievement is not only for the people of Osun alone, but for the entire Yoruba race. He said, “Ile-Ife, the cradle of Yoruba race is in Osun State, so the development of Osun is in the interest of the entire Yoruba race. Ignore what your predecessors have failed to do. Focus on moving Osun to greater height and you will be doing good for the Yoruba people globally. “I decided to be here against all odds because of the successes Governor Adeleke achieved within two years. The governor has disappointed critics. He has shown that he is not only a good dancer but also a good performer.” Earlier, Governor Adeleke disclosed that his administration is committed to delivering on his agenda to reviving the state economy through infrastructure development. He said, “To revive the state and deliver on good governance, my administration launched out with a five-point agenda. We targeted specific areas of needs of the people which form the major components of the clearly defined agenda. The goal principally was to address the aspirations and immediate needs of our people. “Our administration has constructed over 120 kilometers of roads across the state. Several inter- state and intra-city roads completed are to be commissioned during this 16 days anniversary. Two major flyovers are also progressing to completion at Osogbo while works are progressing at the Ile Ife Flyover and Ilesa dualization. “I have redirected our efforts and plan at the completion of Iwo-Osogbo road. We have added the dualisation of Odoori – Adeeke road inside Iwo to be executed in two phases. The first phase will reach Post -Office and Oluwo Palace while the second phase will take off from Post Office to Adeeke Junction. “For the second half of our government, I reassure all sons and daughters of Osun State that the government under my leadership will complete all ongoing projects. We will continue to address the infra and social needs of our people. We will strike a balance between hard and soft infrastructure.”

The 39th US president also carried out more traditional presidential duties, including meetings with western European leaders during his time in London while the Cold War was still ongoing. The sparring during question period in the legislature is largely driven by Opposition MLAs grilling government ministers, and with the B.C. Conservative party's rapid rise to Official Opposition, its MLAs will now get to set the tone. But even before his first legislative session begins, some of the heat is instead on Leader John Rustad for some of his choices appointing critics to their Opposition portfolios. Rustad is also on the defensive as the governing party reacts to the news that two of Rustad's MLAs will keep their seats on local councils, essentially doing two jobs. Anna Kindy, a Campbell River-based physician and addictions specialist, has been tapped to be the party's health critic. The NDP pounced on the appointment, pointing out Kindy has opposed COVID-19 vaccine mandates. "She's somebody who is a vaccine-skeptic who has previously spread misinformation about vaccines. She's donated to the Freedom convoy," said Amna Shah, the NDP MLA for Surrey City Centre. Kindy argues she's not anti-vaxx but believes people should not lose their jobs if they choose not to get a medical procedure. "I believe in bodily autonomy," she said. "I think the Freedom Convoy came as a pushback to mandates that were actually in some sense unreasonable. Do I regret doing this? No, I don't." Kindy objects to the NDP characterizing her as far right, saying the governing party is using the term to divide people. "In terms of my association with the far right, it's ridiculous," she said. "I'm not right-wing. I'm not left-wing. I'm just who I am. I look at every issue for itself. I think labels are dangerous." "Voters are tired of the rhetoric," Kindy says, adding it distracts from the real issues like persistent emergency room closures and unacceptable cancer wait times. "When you look at someone who is on the wait list for cancer surgery for months, they don't want to hear rhetoric; they want solutions," she said. UBC political scientist Stewart Prest says Rustad is sending a statement with his critics' picks. "So essentially, Mr. Rustad, with these appointments, is saying that the party is going to welcome a broad array of people on the right side of the political spectrum," Prest said. Rustad has also created a new portfolio called parental rights and sports, to be led by Mandeep Dhaliwal. The parental rights movement has opposed sexual orientation and gender identity policies, or SOGI, in schools. SOGI 123 is not a curriculum to help teachers address discrimination and bullying, create supportive and inclusive environments for 2SLGBTQ+ students and acknowledge varying genders and sexual orientations. The B.C. Conservatives campaigned on ending SOGI in schools, saying parents should have more of a say in what's taught to their children. "It's one of the issues why the [former] education minister [Rachna Singh] was defeated by Mandeep Dhaliwal in Surrey [North]," Rustad says. In April, Rustad proposed a private members bill that would force publicly funded sports teams to use "biological sex" to classify participants, effectively banning transgender athletes. The bill was quickly voted down. Meanwhile, Rustad is also facing criticism this week for allowing two B.C. Conservative MLAs to keep their local government positions The new MLA for Langley Walnut Grove, Misty Van Popta, will stay on as a councillor in Langley Township. Misty Van Popta, a Township of Langley councillor, appears with B.C. Conservative Party Leader John Rustad in October 2024. Van Popta won the provincial riding of Langley-Walnut Grove but says she will remain on Langley council. (Misty Van Popta/Instagram) Korky Neufeld was elected for the BC Conservatives in Abbotsford West and will stay on as a school board trustee in Abbotsford. The NDP and the Canadian Taxpayers Association's B.C. branch say taxpayers should not be paying the same politicians twice. Darlene Ratchford is an NDP MLA who resigned from her council position in Esquimalt. "Being an MLA is a full-time job. It's double dipping. It's not right," Ratchford says. Rustad says he would have preferred that the MLAs resign from their local roles. "If they do want to stay on local government, ultimately it's their decision to do that." Rustad says he's recommended that the two MLAs donate the salaries from their local government positions. CBC News asked Neufeld and Van Poptka if they intend to do that but has not yet heard back.

Iron Mountain Incorporated Upsizes and Prices Debt OfferingArticle content No surprise that No. 97 is leading the NHL in points, or very close to the top. Happens every season, right? Like the brightest star coming out at night. But it’s not Connor McDavid . It’s currently Kirill Kaprizov. Now, McDavid, who has won the Art Ross trophy five times, could still reel in the Minnesota Wild winger by Christmas — he’s picked up 100 places in the points race, the last few weeks—but Kaprizov is second with 33 points in 18 games, one back of Colorado’s Nate MacKinnon, the reigning Hart trophy winner. He went into the Edmonton Oilers game Thursday with 13 goals and 20 assists, also plus 17. Kaprizov, who certainly is in the MVP conversation, leads or co-leads the NHL in points-per-game (1.83), has 27 primary points and 19 even-strength and has more three-point games, six, than scoreless ones, three. He’s on pace for 150 points, but if you ask the 27-year-old Russian if he likes the test of going against McDavid, who has 24 points, frankly a megastar who lives in another orbit, he demurs about that stuff. But his coach John Hynes doesn’t. He says there’s a “He’s good, I’m good” factor. “The top guys, in my experience, it’s about the competitive level. There’s a respect there to be able to test themselves,” said Hynes. “That’s why the guys at the top of the league are extreme competitors, they like the challenge of playing each other.” “Like I saw where MacKinnon was disappointed that (Alex) Ovechkin wasn’t going to be playing (in the Avs-Caps game Thursday) because he’s out,” said Hynes. But, Kaprizov downplayed the mano-o-mano aspect. “I like playing against everyone,” said Kaprizov. “He’s a star, one of the best players in the league, but every team has star players.” What does he wish he had that McDavid has? “He’s one of the best players, how I say, in the world, he’s fast, good hands. Everything,” he said. But Kaprizov can wheel, too. “No, I’m slow,” he said, with a laugh. He’s far from that. “I don’t like to talk about my game. You guys can talk about it. I don’t like to say something good or not so good. I just play,” said Kaprizov, 27. But, he one of the starriest athlete in the Twin Cities area. He gets recognized, out for dinner, or out getting a coffee. The attention is polite and welcome. “I don’t care (about posing for cellphone photos, autographs, chats). I was this way when I was younger, too. I wanted pictures of players, or the signings. It’s nice when kids know you,” he said. “There were players on my team, growing up, players you would not know, but it was important for me to see them out in the life, not just on TV.” Now, everybody wants to see Kaprizov, who was drafted in the fifth-round in 2015 but didn’t come over to the NHL until 2020. He is a dog-on-bone, wanting-the-puck player, coming out of traffic with it. Big shot, clever, worker. Not McDavid quick, but quick enough, with a skating style like Sidney Crosby, like Doug Weight had here in his Oilers days. Where did he learn that? “Playing for Ufa, from (teammate Teemu) Hartikainen. I think he played in Edmonton,” said Kaprizov, of the big-body Finnish winger who was an Oilers sixth-round draft pick in 2008, a very good AHL scorer who got into 50 NHL games before he left North America far too soon and returned to Europe where he’s been a star in Russia, and now at 34, playing in Switzerland. Former NHLer Wes Walz, who had 54 goals in 56 games for the WHL Lethbridge Hurricanes in his last year of junior, played 607 games in the show, was an assistant coach in Tampa for the Lightning, and now works on the Wild broadcast, was once a checking centre and knows a special talent when he sees one. “Kirill can score off the rush. But where he does his damage is down below the dots. He reminds me of Crosby, with his footwork below the goal line,” said Walz. “You watch him in a puck battle and he’ll come up with the loose puck and you’ll think how did he just get six feet of separation? What just happened? It’s his footwork, the skating thing. It’s not next-level skating, but it’s different. It allows him to win pucks all over the ice. He does play a 200-foot game.” Walz appreciates all the stars because he used to have to try and check them, and he especially likes the stars who aren’t one-trick ponies — all offence, all the time. Walz loves MacKinnon’s game as he tromps through the neutral zone and he plays both ends, but a quarter of the way through the schedule, Kaprizov has shown to be great with the puck and very sound without it. “I know Nathan MacKinnon is leading the league in scoring but he’s plus-two. You watch Kirill in his own zone, on the wall. As a former player you don’t get impressed with a lot but when you watch this guy play, it’s very inspiring,” said Walz. Walz was a teammate of Marian Gaborik, the first superstar for the Wild. He was a dynamic talent, but Kaprizov is a cut above with 108- and 96-point seasons. Gaborik’s high in points was 83. “We had a game-breaker with Marian but this is a different level. Marian had straight-line speed, powerful, kind of reminded me of a Pavel Bure,” said Walz. “But Kirill hounds the puck, second and third opportunities.” It’s so hard to get a superstar on an NHL team, and not just be a worker-bee group. Kaprizov doesn’t kill penalties — no sense blocking a shot and breaking a bone — but he’s sound enough defensively and reads the offensive tendencies so well that he’s also on the ice in the last minute, protecting a one-goal lead. Like McDavid, like Leon Draisaitl here. Kaprizov is one of the 10 best players in the NHL. “You guys here haven’t had to worry about that (star power). We knew how we had to play in this organization for years. We knew the best two offensive players were on the other team every night. You wouldn’t see them most of the night, you would be checking the hell out of them, they would get half a chance and you lose 3-1 or 3-2. Now, Kirlll is the game-breaker,” said Walz..” Walz always played hard and responsibly. But when the surpremely gifted ones have that worker gene, too, look out. “What I didn’t know about Kiril before coming over from Russia was his desire to be great. It’s like what you guys watch every day. There’s a lot of great players who don’t have that desire. He’s the first guy on the ice, you have to kick him off after practice. Some nights he plays 23-24 minutes.” “He has that goofy gene where he can do something at the end of a shift, kind of reminds me of Leon where you’re thinking he can’t get much done here after an 80 seconds on the ice, and all of a sudden he’ll protect the puck and get to the middle of the ice,” said Walz.
Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Additional superintendent of police (ASP) rank officers are on visit to Cambridge University to learn international level policing system, officials said here on Thursday.
