James Gunn Talks ‘Creature Commandos’ and ‘Superman’: “David Corenswet Is Going to Freak Everyone Out”After a move higher of almost 30%, shares of Williams-Sonoma, Inc. WSM are trading a little lower on Thursday. This is mostly because of two dynamics. One is profit-taking. The second is remorseful buyers taking advantage of the move to exit their losing positions at breakeven. This is why it is our Stock of the Day. The shares gapped higher after the company posted strong earnings . A “gap” occurs when a stock closes at one price and opens the next day at a price that is much higher. As you can see, that was the case with Williams-Sonoma yesterday. The closing price on Tuesday was $137.24. The opening price on Wednesday was $172.02. Because there were no trades in between these two levels, there is a blank space or “gap” on the chart. Investors bought aggressively because not only did the company report earnings that were better than estimates, it also raised its operating margin guidance. This was probably more important than the earnings beat. In the quarter, the operating margin was 17.8%. This means that for every dollar of sales, the company earned 17.8 cents. Going forward, Williams raised its operating margin guidance to a range of 17.8% to 18.2%. If operating margins are increasing, it means the company is becoming more efficient. But the move higher has stalled out. There are two reasons for this. The first is profit-taking. Whenever a stock makes a large move higher, there are traders and investors who will take advantage of the move to lock in profits. The second reason is “buyer's remorse.” As you can see on the chart, the stock made a large move higher in May and formed a peak around the $172.50 level. Some of the investors and traders who bought at the peak came to regret their decision to do so after the price plummeted. They have held onto a losing position ever since. Now that they have a chance to exit their positions at breakeven, they are placing sell orders. These orders and the orders from the profit takers have, at least for now, made the rally stall out or maybe even end. There is a chance the stock will head lower. Calii Love, the once admired, Instagram-worthy salad bowl chain is expected to return to King Street West this winter. Widely known by locals for its aesthetic poke bowls and nutritious smoothies, the restaurant is going back to its roots and reopening its formerly shuttered locale near Peter Street. First opened in 2016, Calii Love earned loads of attention on social media when artist Sarah Skrlj unveiled her “Angel Wings” mural on the side of the building. Instagram was set ablaze with selfies and pictures coinciding with the hashtag #caliiwings before the restaurant closed in 2021. A post shared by Charlotte Sumian-Hubener (@charlottesumian) Since then, the mural has been vandalized and fenced off while its paint has chipped away. It is currently undetermined if the painting will be fixed up in conjunction with the store’s reopening at 367 King St. W. While Calii Love’s Instagram page suggests the revived location will open in the winter of 2024, a sign on the outside of the building notes it will return in the winter of 2025. Either way, customers could be dining inside once again over the next several weeks. Calii Love currently has one other location down the street at First Canadian Place, which is closed on weekends, according to its website . The chain previously had restaurants in Union Station, Yorkville and at Yonge and Eglinton streets — but those three have all since been shuttered. TorontoToday attempted to reach out to the owners at Calii Love for information on its opening day and whether the mural will be making a comeback, but the restaurant did not provide a reply in time for publishing.

Report: Murder Suspect in Brian Thompson's Death Had Document in His Possession 'Railing on Health Care Industry'As U.S. goalkeeper Alyssa Naeher looked ahead to the next Women’s World Cup in 2027, she calculated what that would look like at her age. Now 36, she already has a World Cup title and won an Olympic gold medal this year in France. She considered the mental, physical and emotional toll of a new cycle and decided it was time to step away. “Honestly, I think I’ve been somebody that has given everything I’ve had to this team. I don’t do anything halfway. It’s kind of, if you can give 100% to it, then keep going,” she said. “With that in mind, I kind of just felt like this was the right time coming off of the Olympics, having the year that we had, entering into a new cycle, a new stage for this team.” Naeher is the latest veteran to announce she’s stepping down from the national team as the next generation takes over under coach Emma Hayes. Among those who have wrapped up their soccer careers in the past couple of years include World Cup winners Megan Rapinoe, Alex Morgan, Kelley O’Hara and Ali Krieger. Naeher will be with the team for two more matches in the coming week. The Americans play England at Wembley Stadium on Saturday and then the Netherlands in The Hague on Tuesday. While she’s leaving the national team, she’ll play one more year for her club team, the Red Stars in the National Women’s Soccer League. Naeher said she’s excited about the next generation of goalkeepers. In addition to Naeher, Mandy Haught of the NWSL’s Utah Royals and Phallon Tullis-Joyce of the Women’s Super League’s Manchester United are on the roster for the upcoming matches. Other goalkeepers who have been on recent rosters include Casey Murphy and Jane Campbell. “I think the beauty of goalkeeping is that it’s not really a one-size-fits-all kind of position,” she said. “The more that you can understand — that’s going to be the challenge any young goalkeeper coming up, is really taking the time to understand what your strengths are and make them really, really elite and separate yourself.” Naeher spoke on Wednesday from London after announcing her retirement on social media Monday. Naeher made her senior debut with the national team in 2014 and was a backup to Hope Solo at the 2015 World Cup, which the United States won. She became the team’s regular starter following the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics and was on the squad that repeated as World Cup winners in 2019. Naeher won a bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021 before the U.S. earned gold this year in Paris. She made a key one-handed save in stoppage time to preserve the Americans’ 1-0 victory over Brazil in the Olympic final. For her career, Naeher has appeared 113 games with 110 starts, 88 wins and 68 shutouts. She had four shutouts over the course of the Olympic tournament in France. “I hope that I can be remembered as a good teammate, as a competitor, as somebody that was looked on as someone that could be relied upon on the field and supported those players around me,” she said. “I think it’s just been a really special team to be a part of. And I’m very proud of what we have been able to accomplish over the years.”
