TO boost the popularity of Web3 in the mainstream market, its creators must also help to simplify complex technologies and champion new concepts like digital asset ownership for their audiences. Increasingly, the occupation is seen as a legitimate and rewarding career path, requiring strong creative and business expertise. “In web3, there are the builders, there are the gamers, and there are the creators. Creators are especially important because they are the front-facing people who keep the gaming space alive. They provide not just entertainment but also educational value,” said “YellowPanther,” co-founder of Gaming Grid and official ambassador to the Yield Guild Games (YGG) Play Summit, who was named the GAM3S.GG 2024 Content Creator of the Year during the recent GAM3 Awards held in Manila. “Yellow Panther” said the launching of more games will present several opportunities to develop more creators. With more games launching, there are so many opportunities to be a creator. For interested parties, he said all a budding creator needs is to start posting and stay consistent, hoping that the next piece of content “might just go viral.” “Creators drive awareness and engagement and play a pivotal role in shaping the narratives and communities that fuel the Web3 gaming industry’s growth,” said Wolves DAO marketing director Sam Steffanina. “Bringing this group of creators to Manila wasn’t just about content production; it was about East meeting West and seeing firsthand the Philippines’ impact on Web3 gaming and shaping the industry’s future. Supporting YGG’s mission and amplifying their vision made this event impactful for everyone involved, solidifying why WolvesDAO prioritizes initiatives like these.” Built on blockchain technology, Web3 is decentralized as it distributes power and control away from a central authority. As a result, it fosters a more democratic and resilient system that’s resistant to hacking and manipulation. As for the ownership, Web3 users can determine who can access, use, or monetize their data without relying on third parties. Transparency and accountablity are guaranteed as all transactions are publicly recorded on the blockchain. Moreover, Web3 is permissionless as users can communicate freely without asking for permission from a central authority. Web3 will expand the reach of the internet to include everyone, regardless of location or device. Other benefits of Web3 include: fewer intermediaries, efficient searching and information linking, personalized web surfing experience, uninterrupted services, better marketing, tokenization and monetization, effective supply chain management, incentives for collaboration, interoperability. Sir Keir Starmer has been warned by a trade union not to impose “blunt headcount targets” for the size of the Civil Service but Government sources insisted there would be no set limit, although the number “cannot keep growing”. Departments have been ordered to find 5% “efficiency savings” as part of Chancellor Rachel Reeves’ spending review, potentially putting jobs at risk. The size of the Civil Service has increased from a low of around 384,000 in mid-2016, and the Tories went into the general election promising to reduce numbers by 70,000 to fund extra defence spending. Any reduction under Labour would be more modest, with the Guardian reporting more than 10,000 jobs could be lost. A Government spokesman said: “Under our plan for change, we are making sure every part of government is delivering on working people’s priorities — delivering growth, putting more money in people’s pockets, getting the NHS back on its feet, rebuilding Britain and securing our borders in a decade of national renewal. “We are committed to making the Civil Service more efficient and effective, with bold measures to improve skills and harness new technologies.” Mike Clancy, general secretary of the Prospect trade union said: “We need a clear plan for the future of the civil service that goes beyond the blunt headcount targets that have failed in the past. “This plan needs to be developed in partnership with civil servants and their unions, and we look forward to deeper engagement with the government in the coming months.” A Government source said: “The number of civil servants cannot keep growing. “But we will not set an arbitrary cap. “The last government tried that and ended up spending loads on more expensive consultants.” The Government is already risking a confrontation with unions over proposals to limit pay rises for more than a million public servants to 2.8%, a figure only just over the projected 2.6% rate of inflation next year. Unions representing teachers, doctors and nurses have condemned the proposals. In the face of the union backlash, Downing Street said the public sector must improve productivity to justify real-terms pay increases. The Prime Minister’s official spokesman said: “It’s vital that pay awards are fair for both taxpayers and workers.” Asked whether higher pay settlements to staff would mean departmental cuts elsewhere, the spokesman said: “Real-terms pay increases must be matched by productivity gains and departments will only be able to fund pay awards above inflation over the medium-term if they become more productive and workforces become more productive.” TUC general secretary Paul Nowak said: “It’s hard to see how you address the crisis in our services without meaningful pay rises. “And it’s hard to see how services cut to the bone by 14 years of Tory government will find significant cash savings. “The Government must now engage unions and the millions of public sector workers we represent in a serious conversation about public service reform and delivery.”FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) — Wade Taylor IV scored 19 points, Zhuric Phelps hit a go-ahead 3-pointer during an 11-0 run and finished with 12 points, and 22nd-ranked Texas A&M beat Texas Tech 72-67 on Sunday in the first meeting of the former conference rivals since 2012. Phelps' 3 with 7 1/2 minutes left made it 54-52 and put the Aggies (8-2) ahead to stay. His step-back jumper after hard contact with Tech's Kevin Overton capped the game-turning spurt. The Gators (6-5, 4-4 Southeastern Conference), who topped LSU last week, beat ranked teams in consecutive weeks for the first time since 2008 and became bowl eligible. The late-season spurt provided another vote of confidence for coach Billy Napier, who is expected back for a fourth season. Ole Miss (8-3, 4-3), which entered the day as a 10-point favorite, lost for the first time in four games and surely will drop out of the 12-team playoff picture. The Rebels ranked ninth in the latest CFP and needed only to avoid stumbling down the stretch against Florida and lowly Mississippi State to clinch a spot in the playoff field. But coach Lane Kiffin’s team failed to score in three trips inside the red zone and dropped countless passes in perfect weather. UMass (2-9) played its first game under interim coach Shane Montgomery, the offensive coordinator who retained his play-calling duties after replacing fired coach Don Brown on Monday. Jalen John led the Minutemen with 107 rushing yards and a touchdown. Georgia extended its streak of consecutive home wins to 30, the longest active streak in the Football Bowl Subdivision. No. 10 TENNESSEE 56, UTEP 0 KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Nico Iamaleava threw for 209 yards and four touchdowns to lead No. 10 Tennessee to a victory over UTEP. The Volunteers (9-2) overcame a sluggish start to roll up the impressive win. Both teams were scoreless in the first quarter, but Tennessee found its rhythm. Grad student receiver Bru McCoy, who hadn’t caught a touchdown pass this season, had two. Peyton Lewis also ran for two scores. Tennessee’s defensive line, which had no sacks in last week’s loss to Georgia, had three against the Miners. UTEP (2-9) struggled with two missed field goals and three turnovers. Tennessee’s offense came alive with 28 points in the second quarter. In the final four drives of the quarter, Iamaleava completed 11 of 12 passes for 146 yards and touchdowns to Squirrel White, Ethan Davis and McCoy. No. 11 MIAMI 42, WAKE FOREST 14 MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. Ward completed 27 of 38 passes, plus ran for a score. He broke two more single-season Miami records, both of which had been held for 40 years by Bernie Kosar — most passing yards in a season and most completions in a season. Ward now has 3,774 yards on 268 completions this season. Kosar threw for 3,642 yards on 262 completions in 1984. Demond Claiborne had a 100-yard kickoff return for a touchdown for Wake Forest (4-7, 2-5). Claiborne also rushed for 62 yards for the Demon Deacons, and starting quarterback Hank Bachmeier was 8 of 14 passing for 86 yards and a touchdown. No. 13 SMU 33, VIRGINIA 7 CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) — Kevin Jennings threw for a career-high 323 yards and two touchdowns and ran for another, and No. 13 SMU clinched a spot in the Atlantic Coast Conference championship game by routing Virginia. Isaiah Smith and Jared Harrison-Hunte each had two sacks to help the Mustangs (10-1, 7-0, No. 13 CFP) extend their winning streak to eight. They would earn an automatic bid into the expanded College Football Playoff by beating 11th-ranked Miami or 17th-ranked Clemson in the ACC title game on Dec. 7 in Charlotte, North Carolina. SMU had to get there first, and Jennings led the way again, bouncing back from an interception and a fumble to complete 25 of 33 passes to six different receivers, including TD tosses to Jordan Hudson and Matthew Hibner. Brashard Smith provided a little balance on offense, running for 63 yards and his 13th touchdown of the season. SMU’s defense overwhelmed UVa’s offensive line, sacking Anthony Colandrea nine times and allowing the Cavaliers (5-6, 3-4) just 173 yards. Special teams contributed, too, with Roderick Daniels Jr. returning a punt 48 yards and Collin Rogers making two field goals. No. 24 ILLINOIS 38, RUTGERS 31 PISCATAWAY, N.J. (AP) — Luke Altmyer found Pat Bryant for a catch-and-run, 40-yard touchdown pass with 4 seconds left, sending No. 24 Illinois to a wild victory over Rutgers. Illinois (8-3, 5-3 Big Ten) was down 31-30 when it sent long kicker Ethan Moczulski out for a desperation 58-yard field goal with 14 seconds to go. Rutgers coach Greg Schiano then called for a timeout right before Moczulski’s attempt was wide left and about 15 yards short. After the missed field goal was waved off by the timeout, Illinois coach Bret Bielema sent his offense back on the field. Altmyer hit Bryant on an in cut on the left side at the 22, and he continued across the field and scored untouched in a game that featured three lead changes in the final 3:07. Rutgers (6-5, 3-5) gave up a safety on the final kickoff return, throwing a ball out of bounds in the end zone as players passed it around hoping for a miracle touchdown. Altmyer was 12-of-26 passing for 249 yards and two touchdowns. Bryant finished with seven receptions for 197 yards.
The ITV quiz show was back on our screens tonight (December 11), but some fans were left unimpressed Viewers of The Chase have raised eyebrows at ITV following a dramatic episode that saw an unexpected twist during a high-stakes round. In the episode aired on Wednesday (December 11), Bradley Walsh welcomed a new set of contestants eager to win a substantial cash prize. Among them was Adrian from Oldham, who added a commendable £7k to the prize pot in his cash builder round before deciding to take a bold leap for the £40k high offer. The tension peaked when Adrian stumbled on a question, prompting Bradley Walsh to cheekily ask: "Do you think he gets it wrong?" in reference to chaser Paul 'The Sinnerman' Sinha. To the relief of Adrian and viewers alike, Sinha also answered incorrectly, sparing the contestant from an early exit. However, the tables turned once more as Adrian missed another seemingly straightforward question, which should have sent him packing. In a surprising turn, The Sinnerman also got this question wrong, sparking speculation among fans that the outcome was "scripted". Social media erupted with accusations of a "fix," with one viewer exclaiming, "What a f***ing fix this is," convinced that the sequence of events was orchestrated. Another commented, "That was 100% scripted them asking if they think the Chaser will get it wrong when in fact he gets it wrong. Classic ITV ," reports the Express . A third chimed in, questioning, "Why did the chaser getting that wrong feel scripted?" The team's hopes for a substantial prize were high as they sat with £46k after the first contestant, Elena, added £6k to the pot, only halfway through the episode. Viewers were on the edge of their seats, with one exclaiming: "He's still in! Oh, I can't handle this drama! " Another commented on a slip-up by chaser Paul: "Unexpected own goal by Paul there, easy at home, of course, but Mercury is the smallest and the closest." Tension escalated when Ben, after earning just £2k in his cash builder, controversially chose to go for a minus £7k offer. This decision, which reduced the team's total to £39k, sparked outrage among fans. One irate viewer said: "He shouldn't be allowed any money I would be foaming if he was on my team. -7 seriously?" Another expressed frustration more humorously: "That guy took -£7,000!! I would have pushed him off his stool." Despite the backlash, the strategy paid off for Ben, who successfully returned to the team. However, not all viewers were pleased, with one commenting, " I was praying for the 7k guy to lose. What rubbish." Chaser Paul even weighed in, defending the player's choice: "You had their (the team) blessing, so you took the lower offer. It's a tactical game—you're fine." In the end, the team's efforts were in vain. They were defeated in the final chase and left without the cash. The Chase airs Mondays-Fridays at 5pm on ITV1.Zacks Research Issues Negative Forecast for AbbVie EarningsSyria latest: Syrians celebrate in the streets as Russian media says Assad has arrived in Moscow
