casino plus super ace jackpot What the Options Market Tells Us About ChevronIn their Week 12 win over the Los Angeles Rams, the Philadelphia Eagles played 73 snaps on offense and 64 on defense. Let's just get right to the snap counts, and some notes. Quarterback • 71 snaps: Jalen Hurts • 2 snaps: Kenny Pickett Notes: Hurts didn't have to do much with Barkley running wild through the Rams' secondary,. He finished 15 of 22 for 179 yards and a TD. Running back • 50 snaps: Saquon Barkley • 23 snaps: Kenny Gainwell • 5 snaps: Ben VanSumeren Notes: I've been asked quite a bit recently about Barkley's heavy usage this season, and whether or not he can continue to play at a high level into December and January. Barkley has 250 touches on the season. He is on pace for 386 regular season touches, plus whatever he does in the playoffs. That is a lot of wear and tear to put on a running back in one season, and in the past we have seen running backs around the league have down years after that level of usage. I think the Eagles have tried to get Barkley off the field whenever appropriate, but the reality is that he is their best player right now, and he is winning them games. It's hard to take a player off the field when he is playing at an otherworldly level like Barkley is. Do you lean toward preservation, or the best record possible? The Eagles are trying to achieve both, but winning game is the priority. As the season has progressed, Barkley only appears to be getting stronger. As long as he doesn't suffer some kind of injury that will hamper him (the odds of which increase with a continued heavy workload, obviously), I think he'll still play like the elite player he is the rest of the way. I do think that the wear and tear he is taking on this season could affect him in 2025 and 2026, though. Wide receiver • 65 snaps: A.J. Brown • 51 snaps: Johnny Wilson • 50 snaps: Jahan Dotson • 7 snaps: Ainias Smith • 3 snaps: Britain Covey Notes: Hurts only attempted 22 passes, and Brown still caught 6 balls for 109 yards and a TD. If this game didn't turn into The Saquon Barkley Show, it could have very well been The A.J. Brown Show, as the Rams didn't have any corners capable of covering Brown man-to-man. The rest of the Eagles' receivers combined for 1 catch for 4 yards on 2 targets. DeVonta Smith missed this game with a hamstring injury. They'll need him Week 13 against the Ravens. Tight end • 55 snaps: Dallas Goedert • 40 snaps: Grant Calcaterra • 16 snaps: C.J. Uzomah Notes: There isn't much to say about the tight ends from this game. Goedert had 4 catches on 5 targets for 19 yards. Offensive line • 73 snaps: Jordan Mailata and Cam Jurgens • 71 snaps each: Landon Dickerson, Mekhi Becton, and Lane Johnson • 2 snaps each: Jack Driscoll, Fred Johnson, and Tyler Steen Notes: The Eagles' offensive line dominated in the run game, and only allowed one sack to a good, young Rams defensive line. Edge defenders • 39 snaps: Nolan Smith • 36 snaps: Josh Sweat • 29 snaps: Brandon Graham • 24 snaps: Jalyx Hunt Notes: Graham said that his season is over with a torn triceps. More here . This was a new high snap count for both Smith and Hunt. They're going to have to play a lot more with Graham out. Sweat has 7 sacks in the last 7 games, and has quietly had a very good season after the team shopped him this past offseason. Interior defensive line • 54 snaps: Jalen Carter • 24 snaps: Milton Williams • 23 snaps: Moro Ojomo • 15 snaps: Jordan Davis • 11 snaps: Thomas Booker Notes: Carter had a heavy workload yet again, until the outcome was decided, at which point he got some rest. Williams had a pair of sacks and a forced fumble. He now has 5 sacks on the season after posting 0.5 sacks in 2023. Linebacker • 53 snaps: Zack Baun • 52 snaps: Nakobe Dean • 9 snaps: Oren Burks • 5 snaps: Jeremiah Trotter Notes: Dean had 8 tackles and a sack. Baun only had 3 tackles, but he made a really nice pass breakup while in coverage on Cooper Kupp. His play against the pass has been shockingly good. Cornerback and safety • 64 snaps: Quinyon Mitchell • 62 snaps: Cooper DeJean • 57 snaps: Reed Blankenship • 56 snaps: Chauncey Gardner-Johnson • 28 snaps: Darius Slay • 13 snaps: Avonte Maddox • 8 snaps: Tristin McCollum • 6 snaps: Sydney Brown Notes: DeJean had a couple of pass breakups. PFF had him down for 6 catches allowed on 9 targets for 49 yards. That's 5.4 yards per attempt. The Eagles landed two of the best players in the 2024 draft in DeJean and Mitchell. I thought it was interesting that Tristin McCollum — and not Sydney Brown — filled in for Blankenship when Blankenship was banged-up for a few plays. No. 11 Terps face no resistance against overwhelmed St. Francis (Pa.)If the throne speech that kicked off the 30th Saskatchewan Legislature is anything to go by, Premier Scott Moe heard loud and clear that while some residents are happy with the government’s recent performance, a large number are not and want change. Titled ‘A New Beginning’, the 2024 speech started by acknowledging that over 50 per cent of MLAs are new to their jobs. “In every election, voters deliver a message. In this recent election, Saskatchewan voters delivered two messages,” said the speech, which was read by Lieutenant Governor Russ Mirasty on Monday, Nov. 25. “Many Saskatchewan people voted to re-elect my government to ensure a strong economy and a bright future for our province. At the same time, many other Saskatchewan people voted for change.” In the October election, the government changed from the Sask. Party holding 42 seats, to having a slimmer majority at 34. All of those seats went to the NDP and virtually shut the government out of representation in Regina and Saskatoon. The party holds one seat in Saskatoon. The Sask. Party managed to hold on to their two seats in Prince Albert but Northcote was won by only 133 votes. As laid out, the plan addressed a growing population and an economic plan for 2030. Targets are to increase the population to 1.4 million, get $16 billion/year in private capital investment, increase value-added revenue to $10 billion and double forestry sales to $2.2 billion While part of that forestry plan includes the planned construction of an OSB mill north of Prince Albert, the company that owns the pulp mill is not planning to re-open anytime soon. Paper Excellence (now DOMTAR) said this fall it will sell the facility . READ MORE: One Sky said that increased access to wood fibre makes the OSB mill more viable. “My government must also do more to address the challenges of growth – challenges like crowded classrooms and access to health care services,” said Moe. In the area of health, Moe promised to expand access to urgent care. A first-in-Saskatchewan facility is operational now in Regina and has seen 14,000 visitors since July. Another is planned in Saskatoon as a partnership with Ahtahkakoop First Nation. More are now being announced, including Prince Albert, North Battleford, Moose Jaw and Regina. In rural areas, the province will keep recruiting staff through the Health Human Resources Action Plan, something that has resulted in 84 per cent of residents having access to a primary health care practitioner. Moe has committed to ensuring that every resident will have access to healthcare by the end of 2028. “My government will reach this goal through partnership and collaboration with our healthcare providers to deliver team-based primary care to Saskatchewan people,” the speech said. More practical plans including providing at-home HPV tests, developing a Breast Health Centre of Excellence in Regina and introducing a fertility treatment tax credit. No cost coverage for glucose monitoring and supplies will expand to include seniors and those under 25. In the area of education, the government promised two key things: increased support for complex classrooms and funding targeted at getting an increased number of students reading at their age level by Grade 3. Earlier this year, eight schools were selected to pilot a ‘specialized support classroom model’. Two of the schools were in Prince Albert and another two in North Battleford. That program will expand by an additional 200 schools now. Teachers and support staff will be added to boost student’s ability to read at grade level by Grade 3. That grade is a crucial age as children switch from learning to read to reading to learn. Day care spaces will more than double from the 5,100 spaces currently available to an additional 12,000 by the end of the next fiscal year. On the affordability front, the government plans several measures, with the main one being the “largest personal income tax reduction in Saskatchewan since 2008”. The personal, spousal and child exemptions and the senior’s benefit will be supplemented by $500 a year over the next four years. The low-income tax benefit will also increase by 20 per cent over the next four years. The government plans to increase the amount recipients of Saskatchewan Assured Income for Disability (SAID) can earn by $1,000 annually without deductions. That applies to single people, couples or families and right now is maxed at $8,500 for families, making the change an increase of just over 11 per cent. In an effort to keep young people living in Saskatchewan, the Graduate Retention Program will jump by 20 per cent, capping now at $24,000 for a four-year undergraduate degree. A $5,000 Class 1 Driver Training rebate will also be introduced. Wrapping up, Moe promised a more respectful assembly, something that was a contentious issue in the last sitting. House speaker Randy Weekes (Biggar) ended his political career by accusing the sitting government of harassing him by text if they did not like his rulings. He also accused Meadow Lake MLA and now Minister of Crown Investments and Crown Corporations Jeremy Harrison of harassment and bringing a gun into the Legislature . Weekes lost a contested nomination for the newly created Kindersley – Biggar riding. “This Assembly should always be a place of vigorous debate and even strong disagreement. But that debate and disagreement should always be driven by what is best for those we serve – the people of Saskatchewan. It should never be driven by malice toward those on the other side or any individual who may serve here or anywhere in the province,” the speech said. — susan.mcneil@pattisonmedia.com

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — New Orleans police arrested on Friday a man accused of killing two people during a large parade where two separate shootings within an hour left two dead and at least 10 wounded. Curtis Gray, 19, faces two counts of second-degree murder tied to the Nov. 17 shootings along a crowded parade route, according to a news release from the New Orleans Police Department. Gray allegedly fatally shot Rasean Carter, 21, and Malachi Jackson, 19, at the Almonaster Avenue Bridge, authorities say. Carter, an aspiring photographer who lived in Marrero just across the Mississippi River from New Orleans, had planned to document the Nine Times Social Aid & Pleasure Club’s annual outing and was accompanied by Jackson, his friend and uncle, Nola.com reported. The parade was part of New Orleans’ long-running tradition of “second-lines” where revelers follow brass bands marching through the streets and has deep ties to the city’s Black culture. Arrives a few hours prior to puck drop. The deaths of Carter and Jackson were among a series of recent lethal shootings in New Orleans. While most violence has been on the decline in the city since mid-2023, there were three people killed and eight wounded in six shootings over the past weekend according to Nola.com. On Thursday, New Orleans police arrested two men, Darrell Fairley Jr., 18, and Cornelius G. Tillman, 19, in connection with a Nov. 30 double homicide in New Orleans East. Advertisement

Royal Caribbean's maritime EVP sells $763,922 in stockLOS ANGELES — Longtime political commentator Bill Maher and astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson engaged in a fiery exchange after the scientist questioned a claim about the biological differences between men and women. During a Friday episode of “Real Time With Bill Maher,” Maher addressed the controversy surrounding Laura Helmuth, former editor-in-chief of Scientific American who resigned after making disparaging remarks about supporters of President-elect Donald Trump. He went on to jab at a piece published by Scientific American suggesting the differences between how males and females perform in sports are societal, not biological. “That’s nuts,” Maher said. “And it sure ain’t scientific and it’s in Scientific American and that’s why Democrats lost the election.” “Bill, every 20 minutes on your platform, you come up with another reason why the Democrats lost,” Tyson said after laughing at Maher’s remark. “You already have the answer, they lost the election, so anything you say is why they did it.” Tyson’s response prompted Maher to question how much Tyson watches his show. “First of all, you don’t watch this show, so you don’t know,” Maher replied. “I know you don’t and it’s OK, but you talk as if you do.” Tyson then noted Helmuth no longer works at Scientific American, saying the magazine shouldn’t be judged entirely by what happened under her leadership. “Why can’t you just say this is not scientific and Scientific American should do better?” Maher asked. Tyson again dodged the question, claiming women might have an advantage over men in long-distance swimming. “Well, I’m going to file you under ‘part of the problem,’ ” Maher said. Maher pressed Tyson again during the show’s “Overtime” segment. That discussion surrounded the effectivity of vaccines and whether avoiding a vaccine is worth the potential risk of infection. “Science matters in this,” Tyson said. “Of course it does,” Maher replied. “Sometimes you don’t sound that way and that’s what worries me,” Tyson said. “You’re the guy who doesn’t understand why the [WNBA] team can’t beat the [Los Angeles] Lakers,” Maher fired back. “You’re supposed to be the scientist and you couldn’t even admit that.” The clash between Maher and Tyson comes at a time of tense debate in Washington, D.C., surrounding the transgender community. Sen. John Fetterman, D-Pa., last week offered to allow Rep.-elect Sarah McBride, D-Del., to use his private office bathroom after multiple Republican lawmakers spoke out against her use of the women’s facilities.

In an apparent effort to reduce the headaches caused by airport line cutting, American has rolled out boarding technology that alerts gate agents with an audible sound if a passenger tries to scan a ticket ahead of their assigned group. This new software won’t accept a boarding pass before the group it’s assigned to is called, so customers who get to the gate prematurely will be asked to go back and wait their turn. As of Wednesday, the airline announced, the technology is now being used in more than 100 U.S. airports that American flies out of. The official expansion arrives after successful tests in three of these locations — Albuquerque International Sunport, Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport and Tucson International Airport. The initial response from customers and American employees “has exceeded our expectations,” Julie Rath, American’s senior vice president of airport operations, reservations and service recovery, said in a statement. She added that the airline is “thrilled” to have the technology up and running ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday . American got lots of attention when it unveiled its gate-control testing last month. Analysts say that isn’t surprising. It’s no secret that line cutting in airports hits a nerve. Whether intentional or not, just about every air traveler has witnessed it, noted Henry Harteveldt, an airline industry analyst with Atmosphere Research Group. It can add to frustrations in what can already be a tense environment, with particular anxiety around passengers wanting to sit together or rushing for some overhead bin space. Harteveldt doesn’t see American’s recent move as “shaming” customers who cut the line. “What it is intended to do is bring order out of chaos,” he said. “And I hope it will defuse any potential flare ups of anger (from) people who simply think they’re entitled to board out of turn .... It’s just not fair.” Harteveldt added that he thinks this change will enhance the experiences of both customers and gate agents. Others say more time will tell. Seth Miller, editor and founder of air travel experience analysis site PaxEx.aero, said he can see the benefits of more orderly and universal gate-control enforcement, particularly for airlines. But he said he isn’t “100% convinced this is perfect for passengers” just yet. Families, for example, might be booked on several different reservations across more than one group, he said. Airlines typically have workarounds for that, and American noted Wednesday that customers traveling with a companion in an earlier group can simply have a gate agent “override the alert” to continue boarding. Still, Miller said, “you have to go through the extra hoops.” And a difficult customer still might choose to hold up the line and argue when they’re not allowed to board, he added. But Harteveldt said he was happy to learn that American’s alert is “not a bellowing sound that can be heard throughout the terminal,” or accompanied by your name read over a loudspeaker, noting that this is important to avoid feelings of shame. Expanding this technology just a week before peak Thanksgiving travel could be “both good and bad,” Harteveldt adds. On one hand, the tech could help significantly improve the boarding process during such a busy time, he said, but airport employees might also have appreciated more time to prepare. Both Miller and Harteveldt said they wouldn’t be surprised if other carriers soon follow American’s lead. Headaches over airport line cutting are far from new. While maybe not to the extent of American’s new tech, Miller noted he’s seen gate agents from other airlines ask people to leave a line and wait for their group. Harteveldt added that he’s been to some airports in Asia and Europe with “sliding doors” that ensure passengers are in the right group before boarding a plane. The more than 100 airports that American is now using its gate-control technology in are all spoke, or non-hub, locations — including Austin-Bergstrom International Airport and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. The airline says it expects to further expand to its hubs and other airports in the coming months.Conservative Party of B.C. Leader John Rustad faces a test after 13 members of his caucus have asked him to essentially discipline Conservative MLA Elenore Sturko for comments that she made about a former Vancouver Police Board member. The signed letter published by radio host Jas Johal on X Thursday (Dec. 5) calls on Rustad to "invite" Sturko to "offer" Comfort Sakoma-Fadugba a written apology after Sturko had criticized her, following Sakoma-Fadugba's controversial remarks about the nature of Canadian society. Sakoma-Fadugba left her position Nov. 22 after several social media posts linked to her became public. Screenshots of the Instagram stories linked to Sakoma-Fadugba show Reddit posts lamenting the loss of Christian values in the face of immigration and criticized "woke culture" as well gender transitions. The alleged statements cost Sakoma-Fadugba her job on the police board and drew criticism from various corners of the political spectrum, including Sturko, a former RCMP officer and member of the LGBTQ2S+ community. “When we have statements being made that erode the public’s trust, or their comfort with their police service, it makes it that much harder on the front-line officers," Sturko told the CBC in November. But this statement did not sit well with her 13 colleagues, calling on Rustad to ask Sturko for the apology "and to encourage the Vancouver Police Board to advance conciliatory discussions with (Sakoma-Fadugba)." But that is not their only demand. "If Ms. Sturko declines your invitation, we ask that you offer this apology and encouragement on behalf of the Conservative caucus," they write. This double-demand appears to put Rustad in a double-bind. He either follows the demands from his part of his caucus ostensibly aimed at one of their own or he undermines the position of Sturko by issuing an apology on her behalf. "The way he responds will tell us something about where his own loyalties lie," UBC political scientist Stewart Prest said. "We do know that he is quite supportive of articulations of these kinds of more critical views of modernity ... so it may be that he has a certain amount of sympathy with the letter writers and his response will tell us whether that's the case. At the same time, a leader has another responsibility to the larger caucus as well. It may be that there are other members of the caucus who feel (Sturko) was quite correct in offering that assessment, and then has nothing to apologize for." Found within the letter is also a larger expression of sympathy for Sakoma-Fadugba's statements and a request to Rustad to give those views room by reminding him of what the signatories consider Rustad's own views to be. "The posts express views many Conservatives (including Conservative MLAs and staff) hold in support for parental rights, religious faith, and the pursuit of shared Canadian values," it reads. "Under your leadership, the Conservative Party of BC has consistently denounced 'cancel culture' and stood for the Charter rights British Columbians enjoy to free expression and freedom of religion," it reads. "The very first question you raised in the (legislature) as leader was in defence of parental rights." “Will the minister admit this SOGI 123 has been divisive and an assault on parents’ rights and a distraction to student education?” Rustad asked on Oct. 3, 2023. That question drew a rebuke from Premier David Eby, who called the question "outrageous" in accusing Rustad of leveraging children for culture-war purposes. “Shame on him," Eby said. "Choose another question." Prest called the letter a "deliberately provocative approach" that speaks to the ideological divisions within the party now for everyone to see. "It's putting right out in the open something we knew was going to be part of this, this challenging political coalition bringing together more populist-style conservatives with more, if you like, centrist or politically moderate types such (Sturko)." None of the 13 signatories once sat with Sturko when she was part of BC United and all were elected on Oct. 13 as first time Conservative candidates. Of note, is also the geographical representation of the MLAs. Eleven signatories represent ridings outside of Metro Vancouver and Greater Victoria including areas in the Fraser Valley and the Okanagan. Three signatories – Dallas Brodie (Vancouver-Quilchena), Brent Chapman (Surrey-South) and Anna Kindy (North Island) – have also found their names in the news over comments that they had made before or during the election campaign, with Chapman being perhaps the most widely reported one following his comments about Palestinian children made in 2015. "I would suggest that we are seeing to emerge, perhaps the makings of which you could almost call a Freedom Caucus in the (Conservative Party of B.C.), the sense that there's a group within a group that looks at the world quite differently than other members of that caucus," Prest said. This is not the first time that Sturko has been the object of criticism from within the Conservative Party of B.C. While still with B.C. United, Conservative candidate Paul Ratchford had called her a "woke, lesbian, social justice warrior." At the same time, Sturko had also been critical of the Conservatives, while still with B.C. United. In early October 2023, Sturko called on Rustad to apologize after appearing to draw a comparison with harms caused by residential schools and parental concerns about SOGI 123. Rustad denied making such a comparison. Sturko also called on Rustad to apologize after he had referred to being LGBTQ2S+ as a "lifestyle" in a media interview. When asked to comment on the letter from her colleagues, Sturko said deferred to Rustad. "This letter was addressed to John. I'm going to allow him the opportunity to speak to it at this time." Black Press Media has reached out to the Conservative Party of B.C., including Rustad's spokesperson and Rustad himself for comment.

Jayden Daniels and the offense stalling have the Commanders on a three-game losing streak

NASSAU, Bahamas — Scottie Scheffler birdied every hole but the par 3s on the front nine at Albany Golf Club on Friday and finished his bogey-free round with an 8-under 64 that gave him a two-shot lead in the Hero World Challenge. Two months off did nothing to slow the world's No. 1 player. Scheffler already has eight victories this year and is in position to get another before the end of the year. Scheffler was at 13-under 131, two ahead of Akshay Bhatia (66) and Justin Thomas (67), both of whom had to save par on the 18th hole to stay in range going into the weekend. Scheffler started with a lob wedge to 2 feet for birdie and never slowed until after he went out in 29 to seize control of the holiday tournament against a 20-man field. Scheffler cooled slightly on the back nine, except it didn't feel that way to him. "Front nine, just things were going my way. Back nine, maybe not as much," Scheffler said. "A couple shots could end up closer to the hole, a couple putts go in, just little things." Asked if he felt any frustration he didn't take it lower — he once shot 59 at the TPC Boston during the FedEx Cup playoffs — Scheffler sounded bemused. "I think in this game I think a lot of all y'all are looking for perfection out of us," he said. "Today I shot 8 under on the golf course, not something I hang my head about. A lot of good things out there — clean card, bogey-free, eight birdies. Overall, I think I'm pretty pleased." Thomas felt his 67 was stress-free, particularly the way he was driving the ball. The wind laid down again, rare for the Bahamas, though it is expected to pick up on the weekend. Thomas wasn't concerned to see Scheffler get off to a hot start, especially with three par 5s on the front nine and a short par 4 that at worst leaves a flip wedge to the green. "You literally can birdie every hole as soft as the greens are," Thomas said. "He's a great player, a great wedge player, and you have a lot of birdie holes to start. I'm honestly surprised he only shot 8 under. It's a sneaky course because if you fall asleep on some shots, you can get out of position. But if you're on and focused and really in control of everything — like these last two days with no wind — you can just make so many birdies." Ryder Cup captain Keegan Bradley had a 67 and was four shots behind. No matter how benign the conditions, it wasn't always easy. Cameron Young, who opened with a 64 for a two-shot lead, followed with a 75 despite making five birdies. That included a double bogey on the final hole when his approach tumbled down the bank into the rocks framing the lake that goes all the way down the 18th hole. Patrick Cantlay was trying to keep pace playing alongside Scheffler, but he had three bogeys over the final seven holes and fell seven shots behind with a 71. The tournament, hosted by Tiger Woods, is unofficial but offers world ranking points to all but the bottom three players because of the small field. It's the weakest field in 25 years, but Scheffler at No. 1 gives it enough cachet. He is the first player since Woods in 2009 to start and finish a year at No. 1 in the world. And even after a layoff — giving him time to tinker with a new putting stroke — it looks like it might be a while before anyone changes that.
