Evans had 97 yards in Sunday’s 48-14 win over the Panthers and heads into the finale with 915 receiving yards. If he can get 85 yards against the Saints, Evans will have hit the milestone in all 11 of his professional seasons and quarterback Baker Mayfield said the team will head into the game knowing what’s at stake. “Obviously Mike’s a huge part of this offense and the record is pretty important for us to get — for him to achieve it but for us to make sure it happens,” Mayfield said in his postgame press conference. “Having it right there in front of us and not having to force things. When he’s in the game, he’s a huge part of that and he creates the explosive plays in the passing game. Looking forward to seeing what happens next week.” The Bucs will win the NFC South with a win and a Falcons loss in either of their final two games, so there’s plenty at stake on the team level. The good news for the Bucs is that feeding Evans has generally been a good way to earn victories over the course of his time in Tampa.Outlander: Blood of My Blood - When will Season 2 release? Tyson Fury's Current Physique Ahead of Oleksandr Usyk RematchRepublicans won big in a relatively high-turnout election. How did it happen? STEVE INSKEEP, HOST: Hey, folks. You showed up. The turnout rate in this year's presidential election looks to be the third-highest in 100 years. A MARTÍNEZ, HOST: Yeah, and Republicans did really well. They won control of the House, Senate and the presidency. That directly contradicts conventional political wisdom that high turnout inherently favors Democrats. INSKEEP: NPR's voting correspondent, Miles Parks, has been looking into this, and he's in our studios. Good morning, Miles. MILES PARKS, BYLINE: Hey, Steve. INSKEEP: Thanks for coming by Studio 31. How do you think now about this general idea for many years that turnout - high turnout - favors Democrats? PARKS: So this idea was never a hard-and-fast rule. It centers on people who only vote usually in big presidential races or every once in a while - people known as low-propensity voters. INSKEEP: Right. PARKS: Research has found that these sorts of people are generally less educated, are poorer people generally, and those sorts of people have tended to vote for Democratic candidates. Therefore, higher turnout brings out more of these sorts of people, helps Democrats. But Trump seems to have really changed the game here. Exit polls found that he did really well among people without a college degree and also won people who said it was the first time they'd ever cast a ballot. So the question now is whether this is going to change how Republicans feel about voter turnout and also, critically, policies that make voting easier, since those policies have been shown to... A popular social media influencer in Florida has been arrested after allegedly stealing from Target. Target says a woman, later identified as Marlena Velez, entered a store in Cape Coral on Oct. 30 and began shopping. While at the self-checkout, police said scanned barcodes for items of lesser value before walking out of the store. "Initially, our officers got a report from Target about this retail theft. They looked into it. They got the security footage. They had a still frame of this woman who’s basically scamming the self-checkout at Target," said Mercedes Simonds, public information officer for the Cape Coral Police Department. Police said the stolen items, including household goods and clothing, are valued at more than $500. After police posted the suspect's picture on their Facebook and Instagram accounts, an anonymous caller identified the woman as Velez. A video posted on her TikTok account documents herself as she gets ready to leave her home on Oct. 30 in the same outfit and glasses in the surveillance video. Velez is now charged with theft. Bulls On Tap Tasting Flight: Chicago Bulls News for Nov. 26, 2024A TikTok influencer who allegedly shoplifted about $500 worth of items from Target and posted her haul on the social media app, where she has more than 360,000 followers, has been arrested and charged with petty theft. Police said Marlena Velez, 22, stole the items by scanning false bar codes with cheaper prices on Oct. 30 at a Target in Cape Coral, Florida. The 16 items — household goods and clothing — were valued at $500.32, the Cape Coral Police Department said in a news release. Velez regularly posts content about her life as a mom of two on her TikTok account. Police were called to the store last week for the theft that occurred on Oct. 30. The police department posted a photo of the suspect on its Facebook and Instagram accounts and asked the public’s help in identifying her. They received numerous phone calls from anonymous tipsters, one of whom was “personally known” to Velez and provided Velez’s name, date of birth and the names of her Instagram and TikTok accounts, according to a probable cause affidavit. Those public social media pages helped police connect Velez to the theft, according to the affidavit. Police said they found a video Velez posted on TikTok getting ready on the day of the theft, wearing the same outfit as the woman seen on Target’s security video — a tan shirt, tan pants and glasses. Velez recorded herself picking out the items inside the store and then taking them home with her, police said . According to the probable cause affidavit, the tipster also provided “unique details” about Velez, including that she had two children and a tattoo of a Zodiac sign on her left wrist, which police said matched that of the woman in the security footage. “Everything was documented,” Mercedes Phillips, a spokesperson for the department, said in a video posted to its Instagram account. Velez told the officer who arrested her that she did not recall stealing from Target and after she was shown a photo of the woman from the store’s security video, she “verbally confirmed” that she was the woman in the photo and video, the probable cause affidavit says. While in the Lee County Jail, Velez is alleged to have said “lesson learned” multiple times, according to the probable cause affidavit. The officer who arrested her asked her while she was at the jail whether she still had the stolen merchandise and she is alleged to have responded that she may still have some of the items, “to include some Christmas decorations,” the affidavit states. Phillips thanked the community for its help in identifying Velez. Velez was arrested and charged with one count of petty theft. She was released on $150 bail and is due in court Dec. 10, court records show. She could not immediately be reached at a number or an email address listed for her or through her TikTok account.
