They have jumped out to a quick 40-34 lead against Rutgers. If Texas A&M keeps playing like this, they'll bump their record up to 6-2 in no time. On the other hand, Rutgers will have to make due with a 5-3 record unless they turn things around (and fast). Rutgers Scarlet Knights @ Texas A&M Aggies Current Records: Rutgers 5-2, Texas A&M 5-2 When: Saturday, November 30, 2024 at 3:30 p.m. ET Where: MGM Grand Garden Arena -- Las Vegas, Nevada TV: tru TV Follow: CBS Sports App Online Streaming: Catch select College Basketball matches on Fubo (Try for free. Regional restrictions may apply.) The Texas A&M Aggies' road trip will continue as they head out to face the Rutgers Scarlet Knights at 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday at MGM Grand Garden Arena. The Aggies are strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 77.3 points per game this season. Last Wednesday, Texas A&M didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Creighton, but they still walked away with a 77-73 win. Among those leading the charge was Henry Coleman III, who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine rebounds. Texas A&M smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in 19 consecutive matchups dating back to last season. Meanwhile, Rutgers' game on Wednesday was all tied up 41-41 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They took a 95-90 hit to the loss column at the hands of Alabama. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (85), the Scarlet Knights still had to take the loss. Dylan Harper put forth a good effort for the losing side as he went 11 for 19 en route to 37 points plus two steals. His evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 22.4 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ace Bailey, who had 22 points along with two steals. Texas A&M's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Rutgers, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 5-2. Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Texas A&M has crashing the boards this season, having averaged 45.1 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Rutgers struggles in that department as they've been averaging 36.3. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge. Texas A&M is hoping to beat the odds on Saturday, as the experts think they're headed for a loss. This will be their first time playing as the underdogs this season. Rutgers is a 4.5-point favorite against Texas A&M, according to the latest college basketball odds . The oddsmakers had a good feel for the line for this one, as the game opened with the Scarlet Knights as a 5.5-point favorite. The over/under is 148.5 points. Download the 12News appMatchday 18 of Premier League saw VAR and refereeing decisions spark controversy, from Jhon Duran’s red card to Joao Pedro escaping punishment, leaving fans and pundits questioning consistency. New Delhi: Matchday 18 produced some top tier drama not just in terms of results, but also a few turn of events that made many people question the referees and VAR decisions. In the game against Aston Villa and Newcastle, the Villans went 1-0 down in just the second mintue of the game when Anthony Gordon scored a stunning goal for the home side. However, Unai Emery’s side suffered yet another blow in the 32nd minute of the game when they were down to 10 men after their young star Jhon Duran was given a controversial red card. The young forward saw red after VAR provided their conclusion after judging the tussle between Duran and Newcastle’s Fabian Schar. Anthony Taylor didn’t even take a look at the replay, he decided to issue a red card to Duran that only made matters worse for the Villans. However, the internet saw fans putting up their opinions that the forward didn’t deserve to be booked after he appeared to stamp on the defender during their tussle, which led to his dismissal. The pundits also claimed that due to the momentum in which he was running, there was n oway he could have stopped himself from not making the contact with the Swiss defender. Something bizzare happened in the Premier League meeting between Brighton and Brentford that saw the Seagulls’ striker Joao Pedro not being booked after a VAR check on his aggresive swing of elbow that just missed the Brentford player Yegor Yarmolyuk. Although it could have been a lot worse, Pedro certainly deserved atleast a yellow card for that aggressive behaviour according to some fans on social media. However, the striker survived it as no card was issued to him. What Premier League had to say and other’s thoughts on this Have the Premier League referees lost the credibility? Recently it has been confirmed that Aston Villa’s appeal for Jhon Duran’s red card was rejected by Football Association which has left the club in shock. Unai Emery blasted the referees for the call, claiming it ended the match as Newcastle easily defeated a 10-man opposition 3-0. The manager of Villa, who has previously supported the use of video assistance referee technology, was baffled that it did not step in at St. James’ Park. “The red card was clear for the referee straight away, he was the only person in the stadium who couldn’t take his time,” Emery claimed. “He has to be intelligent to take time and get the right decision. “In this case you have to use the VAR. He has to be smart, and calm. It has to be like that.” It was pretty clear that the VAR was very much needed in this situation that brewed up and Anthony Taylor decided to take the matters in his own hands and issuing a straight red that left the visitors frustrated. Unai Emery also claimed that this was the turning point in the game when their star forward was sent off which led to Newcastle scoring two more goals and ending the game 3-0 to their liking. Meanwhile, according to many it was a baffling decision by the VAR when they decided not to issue a card to Joao Pedro, who’s actions seemed like he deserved atleast a yellow card. This raises a big question that are the Premier League referees losing their credibility? Click for more latest Football news . TORONTO – Blue Jays general manager Ross Atkins wouldn’t tip his hand on off-season plans Tuesday and instead spoke in generalities ahead of what should be an interesting few weeks on baseball’s free agency scene. Atkins, who held a 25-minute availability during a meeting of the Baseball Writers’ Association of America’s Toronto chapter, said he thinks there is still “a great deal of opportunity” for the club. “We feel confident there are several ways to make our team better,” he said. “It seems there are aspects in every market at every tier that are still available for the organization. We don’t have unlimited resources obviously, but we do have the potential to make our team better via free agency and trade. “As far as timing, it’s just hard to say. I think we could do something tomorrow, we could also take more time. It could take days, it could take weeks before a move actually happens.” It has been a rather quiet off-season so far for the Blue Jays, who have made some changes to their coaching staff and somewhat surprisingly decided to non-tender Canadian closer Jordan Romano last month. Atkins has a long to-do list as he tries to lift a last-place club back to respectability in the always-tough American League East. Toronto’s bullpen is remarkably thin, the offence desperately needs a boost and another quality starter would provide some rotation depth. In addition, the two homegrown faces of the franchise – Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and Bo Bichette – are currently only signed for one more season. After reaching the wild-card round three times over a four-year stretch, the Blue Jays were sellers at the trade deadline last summer and struggled to a 74-88 record. With the team’s competitive window in danger of closing, the pressure is squarely on Atkins to turn things around. First up though, is the sport’s big free-agent domino – superstar Juan Soto – that has yet to fall. Soto helped the New York Yankees win the American League pennant and is expected to sign a lucrative long-term deal. The 26-year-old slugger is reportedly weighing offers from five teams: the Blue Jays, Yankees, New York Mets, Los Angeles Dodgers and Boston Red Sox. “I’m not going to comment specifically on pursuit (or) lack thereof,” Atkins said. “The interest is obviously there from all 30 teams.” Once Soto’s future is decided, teams will likely start to pivot to other big names among an intriguing free-agent class. Some of the headliners include pitchers Corbin Burnes and Max Fried, outfielders Anthony Santander and Teoscar Hernandez and infielders Pete Alonso and Alex Bregman. In addition, baseball’s winter meetings begin Monday in Dallas. The groundwork for potential trades is often developed at that four-day event. “We’re always trying to get better,” Atkins said. “We’re in a position to do so.” Romano, from Markham, Ont., underwent arthroscopic surgery last season for a right elbow impingement. He was limited to 15 appearances and had a 6.59 earned-run average. The non-tender move saved the team a projected salary of US$7.75 million and made him a free agent. “It was a very difficult decision,” Atkins said. “On a personal level, how much he’s meant to this city, country, team, what he’s accomplished. So very difficult for us. “From a business standpoint, we have to operate as one. We remain interested in him and will be heavily pursuing his return and hope that’s a potential reality.” Also Tuesday, the BBWAA’s Toronto chapter released its annual award winners for 2024. Guerrero was a unanimous selection for player of the year and right-hander Jose Berrios was named pitcher of the year. Winnipeg Jets Game Days On Winnipeg Jets game days, hockey writers Mike McIntyre and Ken Wiebe send news, notes and quotes from the morning skate, as well as injury updates and lineup decisions. Arrives a few hours prior to puck drop. Rookie of the year went to infielder/DH Spencer Horwitz and right-hander Bowden Francis was named most improved player. Former Blue Jays catcher Danny Jansen was the winner of the John Cerutti Award. It’s given to a person associated with the club who exemplifies goodwill, co-operation and character. Jansen spent parts of seven seasons with the Blue Jays. He was dealt to the Boston Red Sox last July. This report by The Canadian Press was first published Dec. 3, 2024. Follow @GregoryStrongCP on X. ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. - Sarah Boone , the Florida woman convicted of killing her boyfriend in Feb. 2020 by locking him inside a suitcase, will spend the rest of her life in prison. Boone was convicted of second-degree murder by a six-person jury in October 2024. Orange County Judge Michael Kraynick sentenced Boone to life in the Florida Department of Corrections. Boone rejected a 15-year plea deal prior to her trial. The defense filed a motion for a new trial, which was rejected. Sarah Boone was found guilty of second-degree murder in the Feb. 2020 death of her boyfriend, Jorge Torres. The jury a little more than an hour to reach a unanimous verdict. At the sentencing, Jorge Torres' mom and sisters spoke on his behalf. A few friends also spoke on behalf of Boone, including her cellmate and another inmate she met within the Orange County Jail. Jorge Torres' mother spoke during Sarah Boone's sentencing hearing in the death of her son. Boone was convicted of second-degree murder of Torres, who was locked inside a suitcase during a drunken game of hide-and-seek. "I don't hate her for what she did," Torres' mother told the judge during her victim impact statement. "She (did) not only kill my son, she killed a father, brother, an uncle." The mother of Jorge Torres remembered her son as a father, brother and uncle. "It's been hard on my family," she said, through tears.
