The online card retailer is tackling this issue with an artificial intelligence (AI)-driven handwriting tool, designed to recreate the authenticity of handwritten messages in a digital format. The new feature, which launched this month, allows Moonpig users to create their own digital handwriting by drawing each letter of the alphabet in lower and upper-case fonts. Technology then generates a font for each user which can be stored in their account and used again. Nickyl Raithatha, chief executive of Moonpig, said: “Handwriting has always been a big barrier for people not wanting to send cards online because they don’t feel it’s personal enough. This product bridges the gap between digital convenience and heartfelt, handwritten personalisation.”
