As Love Island star Maura Higgins and author Reverend Richard Coles join fellow celebrities Down Under. The latecomers were revealed on Wednesday, November 20 and have yet to join the other campmates. The two are currently in their own private camp as hosts Ant and Dec told viewers they would be living in the 'Junkyard' camp for the next few days. Thinking it would be really bad living conditions, the camp transformed with a mattress bed, bubble bath, grill and more. However, the two had to complete a mission by convincing the celebrities in the other camp that they were living in awful conditions. Despite not yet being with the other celebrities, fans of the ITV show have said that they are already loving them. Maura Higgins and Richard Coles loved by ITV viewers Taking to X, formerly Twitter, one I’m A Celeb viewer said: “These two are like polar opposites but so funny together." As another added: “Richard and Maura are MY WINNERS ALREADY." A further said: ““Sorry Father.” HAHAHAHAHA adding Maura to an already 10/10 camp is ridiculously brilliant!" While one said: “Aww I’ve missed Maura, I love her! I saw her on Love Island USA but I still have missed her." Why are there no phone numbers for celebrities on I’m A Celeb? The reason celebrities no longer have their phone numbers printed on their uniforms is because ITV has changed the way viewers vote this year. Usually, viewers can vote for celebrities to take part in trials or to leave camp by calling the phone numbers assigned to each of them. However, this year, the ITV show is not accepting votes via phone calls. Therefore, viewers must use the app to make their votes. (AP) — Drew Lock is likely going to start at quarterback for the New York Giants against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday when they try to end a franchise-record 10-game losing streak. Lock started against Atlanta last weekend and his status became an issue after the 34-7 loss when coach Brian Daboll said the 28-year-old was having an issue with his right shoulder. An MRI was done Monday and Daboll announced Tuesday that Lock would be his starter if he stayed healthy. “It came back good so rocking and rolling,” Lock said, noting he was hurt on a third down pass to Daniel Bellinger in the first quarter when Falcons linebacker Matthew Judon pulled his arm on the play. He finished the game. There were questions whether Daboll would switch back to Tommy DeVito after Lock threw two pick-6s and lost a fumble on a strip-sack against the Falcons. Lock has had three interceptions returned for scores in three starts this season, including two on tipped passes. Daboll said it was important to give Lock a couple of starts in which he was able to get all the reps in practice. “Knowing what we did the week before, take the things we need to get better at into this week and actually be able to go out there and do it is something I’m looking forward to,” Lock said. “Similar cadences with the guys, being in the huddle together. I think it can only be a positive for such a roller coaster out of that spot.” The one thing that might change this week is the Giants center. John Michael Schmitz has an ankle injury and he did not practice Tuesday. He left the locker room with a boot on his right foot. New York has moved veteran guard Greg Van Roten to center when Schmitz was hurt and Lock also worked with guard Austin Schlottmann as his center while playing in Denver. “I’m pretty familiar with all the guys that are rotating in there,” Lock said. The Giants have the NFL’s worst scoring offense, averaging 14.3 points. They benched Daniel Jones coming out of their bye week and days later released him after he requested it. DeVito has started two games and Lock three since Jones was released. New York has scored 59 points in those games, with 20 coming against Dallas in a seven-point loss on Thanksgiving. Running back Tyrone Tracy (ankle), wide receiver Malik Nabers (knee-foot), cornerback Greg Stroman (shoulder-shin), defensive tackle Cory Durden (shoulder), inside linebacker Micah McFadden (neck) and cornerback Dru Phillips (shoulder) also did not practice on Tuesday, which is usually a day off. The team will have off on Christmas Day and return to practice on Thursday. Winnipeg Jets Game Days On Winnipeg Jets game days, hockey writers Mike McIntyre and Ken Wiebe send news, notes and quotes from the morning skate, as well as injury updates and lineup decisions. Arrives a few hours prior to puck drop. The Giants opened practice on Tuesday with the song “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year” blaring on the loudspeakers in their indoor practice facility. Jones, who is on the Minnesota Vikings practice squad, sent the Giants offensive linemen Christmas gifts. “DJ comes in, saves me and Tommy once again, and then takes care of the guys,” Lock said. “I expected nothing less from the guy. That’s just who he is, and cares about these guys still.” ___ AP NFL: https://apnews.com/hub/nfl Advertisement Advertisement

India is set to allow homegrown carriers to use wet leased planes on new routes as the government seeks to address a severe aircraft shortage which is driving up ticket prices and hindering airlines ' expansion plans, people aware of the development said. ET Year-end Special Reads Top 10 equity mutual funds of the year. Do you have any? How India flexed its global power muscles in 2024 2024 was the year India became the talk of America IndiGo and SpiceJet are likely to be immediate beneficiaries of the government move. IndiGo, India's largest carrier, is finalising a leasing arrangement of up to six Boeing 787 jetliners with Norwegian carrier Norse Atlantic, the people said. The government decision will also allow Air India to wet lease planes for starting new flights with the Tata Group airline's much touted turnaround under its new owner getting delayed due to an ageing fleet amid a global aircraft parts shortage. A government official said the change in policy will help carriers mount new routes besides boosting capacity on existing services, helping temper airfares. "Supply of aircraft is tremendously lagging demand due to engine issues and slowdown in delivery. Hence, this change is necessary," the official said. Current rules permit airlines to wet lease planes for up to a year. However, the airlines are barred by sector regulator directorate general of civil aviation (DGCA) from using these planes on new routes. More than 100 aircraft are grounded due to unavailability of engines and other spare parts, minister of state for civil aviation Murlidhar Mohol told the Lok Sabha last week. "Across the world, only India barred airlines from launching new routes with wet leases. US, Europe, Australia permit such arrangements. DGCA will ensure that airlines lease planes only from countries which have high safety standards and are in good condition," the government official cited above said. IndiGo, which currently has two Boeing 777 aircraft on wet lease from Turkish Airlines, is planning to start flights to London and Paris with the 787 aircraft from Norway, the officials said. This will help IndiGo expedite its foray into the lucrative India-Europe market which would have otherwise been possible with its new Airbus A350 aircraft whose delivery starts only in 2027. Norse Atlantic has tentatively agreed a wet-lease for six of its Boeing 787s to another carrier, the airline said without disclosing the lessee airline's identity. If the agreement is finalised, two aircraft would be deployed in February and the remaining four in September. IndiGo didn't respond to ET's queries. More than 60 of IndiGo's Airbus A320 and 321 aircraft are grounded as US aerospace company RTX recalled 1,200 Pratt & Whitney engines after it found contamination in the powdered metal used in their manufacturing. IndiGo CEO Pieter Elbers in October said while the airline has managed to reduce the number of grounding from the peak of over 70 aircraft, it will have a little less than 50 grounded planes by March 2025. To tide over the capacity shortage, IndiGo has already wet leased 24 aircraft. This includes 10 Airbus A320 planes, two Boeing 777 and 12 737 Max aircraft. The airline which used to return aircraft after six years has now been forced to deploy them for a longer period amid the shortfall in available fleet. Nominations for ET MSME Awards are now open. COLUMBIA — The Mark Clark Extension project isn't officially dead, but the chance it will become a reality is quickly disappearing. After decades of debate and following the failure of a county tax referendum meant to fund most of the $2.3 billion project, state lawmakers recommended revoking authorization and returning all the unspent state funds. The Joint Bond Review Committee approved that recommendation by an 8-1 margin Dec. 2. State Rep. Leon Stavrinakis, D-Charleston, was the lone no vote. The final say on the $420 million the state was authorized to spend on its share of the project now rests with the members of the State Transportation Investment Bank, which voted before Thanksgiving to solicit guidance from state lawmakers on the expenditure-approving Joint Bond Review Committee before formally revoking the funding. The guidance came down Dec. 2 with a recommendation to redirect the unspent funding — most of the state's $420 million — to South Carolina's uncommitted resources fund. That came despite a hope from Charleston County officials that if the Mark Clark/Interstate 526 expansion across James and Johns islands were killed, the state funds could go to other Charleston County projects. Two major highway projects in Lowcountry face uncertain fate. SC officials offer no lifelines. County Councilman Joe Boykin, who represents Johns Island, told The Post and Courier after the meeting that the 8-1 vote presented a clear indication of where things are headed. "I think the guidance was pretty specific from the Joint Bond Review Committee," he said. "I didn't have any misunderstanding in their intent and purpose. So I think the path is clear for the (State Transportation Infrastructure Bank), and we will respond appropriately." The effort has cost $57.7 million so far — $49.3 million from the state and $8.4 million from the county. County Council was already scheduled to meet later this week. But with little time to give public notice of the meeting, Charleston County officials are now without a set plan to move forward. And while the infrastructure bank is now likely to reallocate funding intended for Charleston County to somewhere else in the state, that prospect is giving supporters like Stavrinakis little encouragement. Charleston County urges state to get $2.3B Mark Clark Extension 'shovel ready' "We still need traffic help in Charleston," he said. "I would like to have been able to keep those funds in Charleston." "I understand why they're doing what they're doing," he added. "The current agreement is not one that can be executed at this point. But that doesn't change the need for traffic relief in that corridor and in Charleston in general." For years the efforts to extend I-526, also known as the Mark Clark Expressway, to Johns and James islands has been one of the region's most visible infrastructure projects intended to relieve traffic and aid potential hurricane evacuations. While favored by county leadership, years of delays partially driven by concerns over the project's environmental impact and resident opposition eventually ballooned the cost of the project. According to previous reporting by The Post and Courier, the road was expected to cost $420 million in 2006. But today's price tag is $2.33 billion — the brunt of which would be borne by county taxpayers. Editorial: On Johns Island, a bad idea is dead. We need to rally behind good ones. Ultimately, a majority of local voters didn't want it, choosing by a roughly a two-to-one margin on Nov. 5 to reject a sales tax meant to fund the project. That decision, county leaders have admitted, all but crippled the project's viability. "We realize that there is no path forward for us to fund it without the sales tax," said Herb Sass, chairman of Charleston County Council. "That was the chance we had to fund it." Now the county is left searching for alternatives, Stavrinakis said, for growing issues of traffic and a population burst that won't go away anytime soon. "The county's level of commitment, had the funding been approved, was simply unprecedented in state history," he said prior to the vote. "A commitment by a county of that magnitude for essentially an interstate highway is something that we've never seen before. We are where we are, and we have to accept the results of the election. But the need is not going to go away."Inside RTE Dancing With The Stars’ Jack Woolley life – from Olympics & family to dating life
Jarrett “JT” Thomas raised more than a few eyebrows when he announced his exit from Southern Charm weeks before season 10 was set to premiere — and his castmates took notice. “I think it became more of this, like, he caught the house on fire and then stepped away when everyone had a reaction — and not a good one,” Madison LeCroy exclusively told Us Weekly on Wednesday, December 4, referring to JT’s abrupt choice to leave before season 10 was done filming. “He was no longer wanted in the group,” she added. Madison, 34, went on to explain that the show is fundamentally “about a group of people that are friends or trying to be friends,” adding that “from the very beginning” she believed JT had a motive to be the villain.” “He realized really quick that wasn’t going to last,” she said. JT turned heads in November when he revealed his exit via Instagram , writing, “It comes with a heavy heart to share that I have resigned from Southern Charm .” The 38-year-old reality star noted that he would not be “participating in the 2-3 remaining green room interviews” which were being filmed to accompany the new season, which premiered on Thursday, December 5 . JT didn’t explain the reasons behind his impromptu departure, but his costars Madison, Austen Kroll , Leva Bonaparte and Taylor Ann Green exclusively dished to Us about his exit — and why they think it happened — below: After posting on social media about “the smallest man who ever lived,” referring to JT — and taking a line from Taylor Swift ’s “The Smallest Mane Who Ever Lived” — Madison told Us that she was “a little shocked” at how JT left the show. “He would run around with that idea [he’d leave] throughout the season,” she recalled, before noting everyone in the cast says that “at least twice a season.” When Madison thought Us asked her if JT used the “Karen’s way” out — instead of the “coward’s way out” — she laughed. “He’s a Karen too,” she joked. “Yeah, coward, for sure. I mean, that’s the best way to describe it. When things start to get tough, you can’t just walk away.” Despite JT’s swift exit after a seemingly tough season for him, Madison insisted the show will be “just fine” without him. “He seems to always impress me, but not in a good way,” she concluded. Austen, 37, feuded with JT during season 9 after JT claimed Austen mistreated women, so there wasn’t a lot of love lost between the pair. Austen exclusively told Us on Thursday, December 5, that JT’s departure proved his point about the reality star. “The announcement was a bit grandiose. My take is that — I mean the hypocrisy of it all is crazy,” he said. “The second that a mirror gets held in his face, rather than own it and take accountability he just [splits].” Austen pointed out JT’s departure mirrors what he “ said at the reunion .” “I mean, I can’t wait for everyone to figure out exactly who you are,” he added. “You can wear the mask that you put on last season for only so long and it will be taken off and you will be seen.” When it comes to JT possibly returning to the Bravo show, Austen confessed, “I don’t see a path back.” He claimed that JT burned his last bridge with costar Venita Aspen this season. “I don’t think that Venita’s very pleased with him,” he teased. (In the season 10 trailer, Venita and JT were flirty and hinted that they had feelings for each other.) “JT is so chaotic, which I think makes for great TV but it’s not a show. He’s a chaotic person and he kind of has no chill,” Leva, 45, exclusively told Us on Wednesday. “It’s like if you say something to JT, I’m like, ‘Can you process it?’ ... But he’s so reactive.” Leva explained that although she thinks JT is a “good guy,” he faced a “lot of accusations” while filming season 10. “I think the Venita and JT of it all was complicated. And I think that wore on him too and wore on Venita,” she added, referring to the possible romance between the castmates. “He came in this year with a lot. He wasn’t drinking or anything, but I think he’s an intense dude, man,” she noted. “There’s a lot in the package lot.” “It didn’t really take me by surprise. It seems a little up JT’s alley to try to get everybody’s attention,” Taylor, 30, exclusively revealed to Us prior to the show’s premiere. She confessed it’s a “little frustrating, because we’ve all had a hard season,” noting that everyone else “showed up” despite their rough story lines. You have successfully subscribed. By signing up, I agree to the Terms and Privacy Policy and to receive emails from Us Weekly Check our latest news in Google News Check our latest news in Apple News “For him to have a hiccup and then all of a sudden just bail is very selfish in my opinion,” Taylor continued. “We all do want to see him return to try to explain some things because we are all kind of in the dark as to what exactly is going on.” She added that when Madison called him the “smallest man who ever lived” she was “giggling” because it felt accurate. “For someone to have a hard season and then not show up and speak for yourself is we go, ‘Dude, we’ve all been there and we’ve all had to do it, and you’re being the smallest little man.’ You’re not going to show up. Like, come on?’” Southern Charm airs on Bravo Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET.
