Resort and parking fees at the Las Vegas Strip’s largest casino operator are going up on Wednesday. MGM Resorts International said it will increase the fee schedules for the two charges at all of its properties on and along the resort corridor. The changes will go into effect at 10 a.m. on Dec. 4. Resort fees at Bellagio, Aria, Vdara and The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas will increase $5 to $55 per day. The daily resort fee at MGM Grand, Mandalay Bay, Delano, Park MGM, Nomad and The Signature will go up to $50, an increase of $5 for the first three and $8 for the latter trio. New York-New York, Luxor and Excalibur will charge a resort fee of $45, which represents a $3 increase for New York-New York and an $8 jump for the other two. Las Vegas-based MGM Resorts last raised resort fees in January. Resort fees pay for unlimited local and domestic long-distance phone calls, in-room Wi-Fi access, digital newspaper and magazine downloads through PressReader, access to the fitness center, Paramount+ with Showtime On Demand and boarding pass printing. MGM says pricing decisions are based on local and nationwide marketplace standards, including the bundled costs of amenities and services included with a stay. The gaming giant said fees are sometimes adjusted as offerings evolve and to stay competitive with other resorts in Las Vegas and elsewhere. Parking fees for certain visitor segments will also be increasing. Self-park visitors will pay $20 Monday through Thursday (currently $18) and $25 on the weekends (Friday through Sunday; currently $23). Self-park hotel guests will be charged $20 on all days, up $2 from the current pricing. Valet parking for hotel guests and visitors will be $40 at all properties. Presently, valet parking charges range from $25 to $40, depending on the property and day of the week. MGM Rewards members with pearl tier status or higher can self-park for free, and free valet parking is earned at the gold tier status or above. Parking remains free for all active United States military, veterans and spouses through MGM Rewards Military & Veterans Program (MVP). Locals with a valid Nevada identification card can continue parking for free for up to three hours at all MGM Resorts properties.Ubisoft is officially discontinuing XDefiant in 2025, the publisher announced Tuesday , with all new purchases and registrations being discontinued immediately. As part of the shutdown, the publisher plans to shut down its production studios in San Francisco and Osaka while ramping down its site in Sydney, with up to 277 employees losing their jobs. Roughly half of the XDefiant team will be assigned roles elsewhere. Chief Studios and Portfolio Officer Marie-Sophie de Waubert revealed the news in an email sent to Ubisoft employees that was subsequently posted online, saying that the shooter was "not able to attract and retain enough players in the long run to compete at the level we aim for in the very demanding free-to-play FPS market." He also shared refund details, saying that any purchases made within the last 30 days will be fully refunded and that those who purchases the Ultimate Founder's Pack will also get their money back. Refunds should happen automatically with 8 weeks, he said. XDefiant joins Concord as the latest service game to abruptly shutter not long after launch. Unlike Concord, though, XDefiant will be given a bit of grace, with its servers not due to shut down until June 3, 2025. Ubisoft also plans to go forward with releasing Season 3, though downloads and purchases will no longer be available. First announced in 2021, XDefiant endured several delays before finally launching in May. We wrote in our review , "XDefiant joins the free-to-play shooter crowd as a respectable competitive FPS built around various Ubisoft franchises, but little makes it really stand out." Despite middling reviews, XDefiant got off to a fast start, pulling in a million unique players within two and a half hours, but its momentum soon dissipated. In October, Rubin acknowledged that players numbers were down while denying persistent shutdown rumors . XDefiant's impending shutdown adds to Ubisoft's woes in 2024 , which has included lower-than-expected sales for major releases , delays , and other setbacks. Its share price collapse reportedly has the Guillemot family and Tencent considering taking the company private . It's far from the only publisher to struggle in 2024 though as game developers of all sizes have been racked by abrupt shutdowns and layoffs . Acting on a tip from the LAPD, police in Bloomington, Minnesota, began looking into the contents of a backpack they'd seized from Avelli two years earlier, including the thumb drive. TMZ explains : "Our law enforcement sources say the thumb drive in question was tied up in ongoing litigation ... with Avelli and his lawyer suing the Minnesota cops to get back all his seized items -- however, in July, a judge denied a motion to return the belongings. So, as it stands, the drive is in Bloomington PD's custody, but we don't know if they've dug into what's on it ... or whether they've shared any info with LAPD." NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Tennessee Titans coach Brian Callahan said Wednesday that wide receiver Treylon Burks , who's been on injured reserve since mid-October with an injured knee, recently had surgery to fix a partially torn ACL. “It was a loose ACL that wasn’t fully torn, and so they had to go see a specialist, so some weeks went by after he went on IR and he eventually had to have ACL surgery,” Callahan said. “The surgery was a couple of weeks back, and the time from when he went to IR until he had the surgery was also a couple of weeks.” Burks was hurt in practice the week after the Titans lost to Indianapolis on Oct. 13 and placed on injured reserve on Oct. 19. The 2022 first-round pick is no stranger to injuries. He suffered concussions in both 2022 against Philadelphia and last year against Pittsburgh. Burks missed six games in each of his first two seasons with the Titans and played in just five games this season before being placed on injured reserve. He finished 2024 with four receptions for 34 yards. For his three NFL seasons, Burks has 53 receptions for 699 yards and one touchdown catch. The Titans (3-9) host Jacksonville (2-10) on Sunday. Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi has learned his fate for daringly writing “I love Jesus” on the LGBTQ rainbow armband the league asked him to wear. Guehi debuted his altered armband during last Saturday’s 1-1 draw against Newcastle. The LGBTQ agenda armbands are required for team captains. However, Football Association authorities immediately deemed the armband a violation of its rules against religious displays, according to GBN . But now the FA has decided to take a pass on punishing the player even though his message violated the rules against displaying “political, religious or personal slogans, statements or images” on equipment. The league’s Rainbow Laces campaign to promote LGBTQ inclusion runs until December 5. The campaign is in cooperation with the gay charity Stonewall. “It has been incredible to see so many football teams at all levels support our campaign to make sport safer and more inclusive for all,” a charity spokesperson said. The armband was also a sticking point for Ipswich Town captain Sam Morsy. Morsy opted not to wear it at all during team’s game against Nottingham Forest. The FA already noted that it will take no action in that case. Ipswich Town released a statement supporting Morsy, a practicing Muslim, but also hastened to point out that they “welcome everybody.” Still, Rainbow Tractors, a club fan group, expressed disappointment that Morsy would not wear the armband. “When we see clubs show their support for LGBTQ+ inclusion, it helps people feel safe and welcome both on and off the pitch,” the group said.
