AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday emphasised his government's developmental achievements and pledged to complete unfinished projects if re-elected in the upcoming Delhi Assembly polls due early next year. Addressing a gathering at a wrestling event in Karala village of Mundka, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader claimed, "The kind of work that has taken place in Delhi has not happened anywhere else in the country." Kejriwal announced that India's largest sports university, with an estimated cost of Rs 2,100 crore, will be constructed in Mundka. "This will be a milestone in Delhi's journey toward becoming a hub for sports excellence," he said. The former Delhi chief minister said that attempts to disrupt his work would not deter him. "They did not put me in jail because I did something wrong but because they want to halt the work I am doing. I am ready to go to jail 100 times as long as I have the blessings of the people of Delhi," he said. NoneGrappling sensation Mikey Musumeci is open to the idea of competing in mixed martial arts in the future, but only after he helps popularize jiu-jitsu under the UFC banner. The former ONE grappling champion left the Asian organization and signed a unique deal with the UFC to compete on their UFC Fight Pass Invitational shows, starting with a Dec. 5 match with Felipe Machado in Las Vegas, and explained his plans in an interview with MMA Fighting after being introduced as a big signing during UFC 309 this past weekend at Madison Square Garden. “It’s all so incredible to me,” Musumeci said. “We’re trying to change the sport. It all started with IBJJF, which was important, but now we can grow the sport to a more professional place for other people. This is my dream. I have enough titles already, I don’t want more titles. The only thing I want is to have an impact for the future generation, so they have an organization where they can make enough money.” Being tied to the world’s leading MMA organization could facilitate Musumeci securing bigger deals in a future transition to the sport, and he’s interested. “I have the desire to maybe do MMA again in the future,” Musumeci said. “I’m young, my body is very young. I’ve never taken steroids, so my body is like 20, 21, actually. I can have many more years of competition still. “Being in the UFC now, I’ll have the opportunity to train with a lot more people that I wouldn’t in the past, and learn from them on the feet, takedowns, wrestling. The first thing I loved in life was MMA. If I can have the opportunity to fight MMA in the UFC, that’s going to be a dream, too. I want to do MMA, but the gift God has given me was jiu-jitsu, so I have to grow our sport first. I can’t leave our sport before helping it grow to a place where other people, other kids can have an organization to compete at in the future.” The 28-year-old said his ideal game for a MMA fight would be the combination of Ryan Hall , Khabib Nurmagomedov and Khamzat Chimaev fighting styles. He trains with Gilbert Burns , who has given him his black belt in jiu-jitsu, and often works with former UFC flyweight champion Brandon Moreno to add more weapons to his skillset. “I have so many good people in my life,” Musumeci said. “But, again, like I said, I want to help the sport of jiu-jitsu grow first. I have that obligation, this desire in my heart, to help out sport first. And then I can do something crazy [laughs].” Musumeci competed exclusively under the ONE Championship banner since April of 2022 and said it was “an incredible part of my life.” He parted ways with the promotion shortly after a cancelled match that left him hospitalized with “a life-threatening condition” from a botched weight cut. “I’m very grateful to Chatri [Sityodtong] for the opportunity he’s given me,” Musumeci said. “I had three amazing years there. I’ve learned so much from him, he’s helped a lot in my life. The only thing I’ll say about him and ONE is that I’m grateful for everything they have done.” The concept at ONE Championship was to build cards that included not only MMA bouts, but also grappling, kickboxing and muay thai, and Musumeci said it was a great way to introduce jiu-jitsu to fans from other martial arts. “And now the UFC has many, many plans for grappling,” Musumeci said. “They want to grow our sport to other people as well. The thing I loved about ONE was that MMA and may thai people watching jiu-jitsu, and the UFC will grow our sport that people will start watching and loving jiu-jitsu, too.” The four-time IBJJF champion celebrates the fact the UFC giving grapplers a “safer” environment to compete at, too. “The problem with many organizations now, brother, is that [athletes] are not safe,” Musumeci said. “Sometimes they have money, sometimes they don’t. Too much politics. Now, with the UFC, we finally have an organization that will be safe and more professional with other people. My dream is to make this sport grow.” Musumeci left ONE with seven wins in seven matches, including submissions over Shinya Aoki and Jarred Brooks . His first challenge in Las Vegas will be a match with Felipe Machado on the week of UFC 310 , and he embraces the pressure that comes from being a star. “I have so f***ing pressure this time,” Musumeci laughed. “I have the biggest pressure ever this time but I love it because I grow from pressure. I’m used to this kind of pressure. You feel like you’re dying, but then you get used to dying. I’m blessed by that pressure, and I’m using all this pressure as energy to have more hunger in the gym. You’ll see a hungry Musumeci looking to finish the match.”

Hoda Kotb left her Today co-host Jenna Bush Hager momentarily speechless by recalling an unthinkable exchange from before her time at NBC in which an unnamed boss critiqued her weight. On Monday, December 2, the anchors of Today With Hoda and Jenna discussed how Timothee Chalamet has successfully pivoted to action roles after reportedly losing out on previous jobs because of his body type. “I mean, look, sometimes people will tell you things that you’re not right for,” Kotb said. “I still remember had just started working in a small market,” she continued. “And I played basketball in high school so I always assumed I was in shape even though, literally, after college and stuff I wasn’t.” “I still remember my boss going to me, ‘Hey, Hoda,’ and I was like, ‘Yeah?’ He goes, ‘Hey, I got an idea. Maybe you might wanna try to get on the treadmill,’” Kotb said. The 60-year-old added levity by impersonating her then-boss’s voice and doing a treadmill-running motion. Bush Hager looked shocked and stared directly into the camera, gasping, “No!” Kotb continued, “And I go, ‘What?!’ You know when you have a perception of yourself that is not the perception of the world?” Bush Hager joked, “Yeah, it’s called reverse body dysmorphia. I have it too.” “Yeah, so I was like, ‘What are you talking about?’” Kotb recalled. “But, if you don’t fit, they want you to wear something a certain way, cut your hair a certain way, speak a certain way.” The shocking exchange can be seen around the 5 minute mark of the broadcast shared on YouTube below: Bush Hager related to being told to change oneself, bringing up how she was originally asked to refrain from saying “y’all” on the Today show. She said she dismissed the idea, and that she couldn’t “pretend” to be a “serious news person” and continued saying the slang word. Craig Melvin Named as Hoda Kotb's Replacement on 'Today' “I think you know when you’re pretending deep down and no matter what it is, you start losing who you are,” Kotb concluded, admitting that “sometimes” people have to make small changes to “fit into a work environment.” Kotb made sure not to name names, but since she has worked for NBC for the last 26 years, the unnamed boss may have been from her local news days. A valve failure on an Enbridge Energy oil pipeline in Wisconsin caused a spill that dumped some 69,000 gallons of oil into the ground. The spill happened on the morning of Nov. 11, about four miles east of the village of Cambridge, between Milwaukee and Madison, according to an accident report released this week by the U.S. Department of Transportation. It released 1,650 barrels of crude oil. One barrel contains 42 gallons of oil. ADVERTISEMENT The failed carbon steel valve was more than five decades old, according to federal data, having been installed in 1973. “Based on the current volume estimates and observed release rate prior to the repair,” the federal report states, “this flange was likely leaking for an extended period of time.” The leak was identified that morning by field workers for Enbridge, who shut down the line and separated and disposed of the contaminated soil. A third party conducted soil sampling to confirm that the company had addressed the contamination. The spill was “totally contained on operator-controlled property,” according to federal officials. The spill will be the subject of a long-term impact assessment and anticipated remediation estimated in the federal report to cost $890,456. With the cost of emergency response and pipeline repairs, the incident is expected to cost nearly $1.1 million. There were no injuries reported in the incident. The company shut down the pipeline for about 10 hours after discovering the spill, according to federal data. Enbridge Energy did not immediately respond to a request for comment. In a statement to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, the company said it is “working with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources as cleanup and restoration proceed.” Environmental advocacy groups said the spill shows the risks involved in operating oil pipelines. This week the Bad River tribe and environmental groups filed a legal challenge to state permits for a 41-mile stretch of new Enbridge pipeline in northern Wisconsin. Tony Wilkin Gibart of Midwest Environmental Advocates, which was part of that effort, pointed out in a statement that the Jefferson County spill was discovered the same week the state DNR determined the risk of spills along northern Wisconsin’s Line 5 would be “low.” ADVERTISEMENT “The faulty segment on Line 6 in Jefferson County has a leak detection system, but that system failed to even detect the leak—much less prevent tens of thousands of gallons of oil from contaminating surrounding land and water in Jefferson County,” Wilkin Gibart said. WASHINGTON (AP) — President Joe Biden said Sunday that the U.S. government believes missing American journalist Austin Tice, who disappeared 12 years ago near the Syrian capital, is alive and that Washington is committed to bringing him home after . “We think we can get him back,” Biden told reporters at the White House, while acknowledging that “we have no direct evidence” of his status. “Assad should be held accountable.” Biden said officials must still identify exactly where Tice is after his disappearance in August 2012 at a checkpoint in a contested area west of Damascus. “We’ve remained committed to returning him to his family,” he said. Tice, who is from Houston and whose work had been published by The Washington Post, McClatchy newspapers and other outlets. A video released weeks after Tice went missing showed him blindfolded and held by armed men and saying, “Oh, Jesus.” He has not been heard from since. that it was holding him. The United States has no new evidence that Tice is alive, but continues to operate under the assumption he is alive, according to a U.S. official. The official, who was not authorized to comment publicly and spoke on condition of anonymity, said the U.S. will continue to work to identify where he is and to try to bring him home. His mother, Debra, said at a news conference Friday in Washington that the family had information from a “significant source,” whom she did not identify, establishing that her son was alive. “He is being cared for and he is well — we do know that,” she said. The Tice family met this past week with officials at the State Department and the White House. “To everyone in Syria that hears this, please remind people that we’re waiting for Austin,” Debra Tice said in comments that hostage advocacy groups spread on social media Sunday. “We know that when he comes out, he’s going to be fairly dazed & he’s going to need lots of care & direction. Direct him to his family please!” Eric Tucker And Aamer Madhani, The Associated Press
Hours after the Rangers bid farewell to one franchise staple, they recommitted to another for the long haul. The Rangers on Friday reached an eight-year extension with star goalie Igor Shesterkin for an average annual salary of $11.5 million, according to ESPN . It’s the highest annual salary for a goalie in NHL history, topping the $10.5 million-per-year contract Carey Price signed with the Montreal Canadiens in 2017. Shesterkin’s deal came on the same day the Rangers traded captain Jacob Trouba to the Anaheim Ducks, reportedly clearing about $8 million in cap space. Shesterkin, 28, entered Friday with a 143-68-19 record, a 2.48 goals against average and a .920 save percentage in six NHL seasons, all with the Rangers. In 2022, he received the Vezina Trophy, which is awarded to the league’s top goaltender. The extension served as a resolution after much discussion about the future of Shesterkin, who was in the last year of a four-year contract that paid him $5.66 million annually. His new deal features a significant raise, but Shesterkin’s salary still falls just short of the Rangers’ highest paid player, Artemi Panarin, whose average annual earnings are $11.6 million. Shesterkin played a starring role on the Rangers’ run to the Eastern Conference Final last season, but the Russian-born goalie’s stats are down to start the 2024-25 campaign. He entered Friday’s game against the Pittsburgh Penguins at Madison Square Garden with an 8-9-1 record while putting up a career-worst 3.05 GAA and a career-low .908 save percentage. The Rangers as a whole are off to a slow start, entering Friday with a 13-10-1 record and as losers in six of their last seven games. The trade of the defenseman Trouba, meanwhile, brought back defenseman Urho Vaakanainen and a conditional 2025 fourth-round pick. Trouba, who was in his sixth year with the Rangers, had a plus/minus of -3 in 24 games for the Rangers this season. He did not score a goal and had six assists. “I want to sincerely thank Jacob for his contributions to the Rangers and our community,” general manager Chris Drury said in a statement . “Jacob has been an example on and off the ice for our organization and played a major role in our success over the last several years. Since coming to New York five years ago, and serving as Captain for the last three seasons, he has demonstrated grit, toughness, and tremendous leadership and we can’t thank Jacob enough for everything he has done for the Rangers.” Trouba, 30, became the latest contributor from last year’s run to go. The Rangers waived forward Barclay Goodrow in June, and he was claimed by the San Jose Sharks.
