From £650 To Six Figures: How Shelly Nuruzzaman Turned Her Love for Curry Into Profit With Bang! CurryIf the thought of a cranberry vodka slush or frozen hot chocolate raises your holiday spirits high, then Walmart might have exactly what you want to see underneath your Christmas tree . The Ninja SLUSHi 3-in-1 Professional Frozen Drink Maker is back in stock at Walmart, and it doesn’t come with the typical $300 price tag that you’ll see on the Ninja website (or at retailers like Kohl’s and Target, when it’s actually in stock). This Walmart-exclusive special edition SLUSHi is marked down from $300 to $249, for a total $51 savings, and you can’t find it anywhere else. Shop Walmart’s full Black Friday sale now. With Ninja’s proprietary RapidChill Technology, you can turn your favorite cold drinks into frosty delights in just 15 minutes. The machine works by swirling liquids around a chilling cylinder and adjusting the temperature and texture to get a perfect, smooth consistency without any ice. The 72-ounce version is perfect for smaller kitchens, but also just as suitable for people who can appreciate a frozen bevvy once in a while, but don’t need to have everything they’re drinking on the frozen side. Instead of the larger 88-ounce iteration that has five presets — Slush, Spiked Slush, Milkshake, Frappé and Frozen Juice — this one just has the Slush, Spiked Slush and Milkshake. So, if you’re not a frozen ‘snow salt chococcino’ connoisseur or a fan of icy juices, then you definitely don’t need to have the bigger slush machine. You can still everything from cranberry orange slushies to candy cane mocha iced martinis and even gingerbread milkshakes or fizzy and frozen pomegranate champagne floats. Whether you’re hosting a party or just enjoying a cozy night in during the busy holiday season, your Ninja SLUSHi will be the biggest conversation piece in your kitchen. I say this, too, because it has been a major hit in mine ever since I got it in August. University of Phoenix Supports Arizona Diamondbacks® Annual Winter Classic CelebrationMumbai: The US Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC) charges against Adani Group promoter Gautam Adani and others including his nephew Sagar Adani in a bribery and fraud case, may not have any immediate impact on the group's financials but are likely to slow down ongoing fundraising plans . Domestic banks and financial institutions, which are the largest creditors of the Adani Group with close to Rs 95,000 crore, or 42%, of its total Rs 2.58 lakh crore debt, are likely to look at any fresh exposure to the group with caution. In fact, banks which were looking to take a part of the Rs 20,000 crore loan through a sell down by State Bank of India have already taken a call to go slow on the process, said people aware of the matter. "It is but natural that banks will want to go slow. This is an evolving situation and everyone including the Adani Group is cautious. The sell-down process which was proceeding smoothly so far is likely to face some delay," said one of the people. An Adani Group spokesperson did not immediately reply to an email seeking comment. Bank of Baroda , Punjab National Bank , Union Bank of India , Central Bank of India , ICICI Bank and Axis Bank had either committed or were in the process of committing funds to the $4 billion polyvinyl chloride (PVC) project at Mundra in Gujarat. The 15-year loan was priced at 9.25% by SBI. The 2 million tonne greenfield PVC plant would be the Adani's Group's first in the petrochemical sector and is expected to double India's capacity to make the plastic polymer used to make raincoats, wires, plastic pipes, shower curtains and medical equipment among other things. "Greenfield projects which have a higher risk will be impacted more because lenders as well as investors will be wary of any untoward incident or delays on these projects due to the charges faced by the promoters. Solar projects which the company is betting big on could be hit because it’s both in the line of fire of US prosecutors and also as these projects are all in early stages of development," said a second person aware of the group's dealings with banks. To be sure, the PVC loan has already been underwritten by SBI and the group is assured of its funding. But its plans to widen its debt profile could take a hit, at least immediately. Ratings firm Care said moderation in financial flexibility of the Adani Group due to the indictment and its impact on the group’s leverage shall be key rating monitorable. "Impact on the fundraising capabilities — both equity as well as debt — consequent leverage levels, government or regulatory action, progress on under implementation capex and debt covenants of Adani Group borrowings pursuant to the aforesaid developments will also be closely monitored," it said. A presentation by the group made public on Monday showed that it had Rs 53,024 crore of cash balances, making up 20.53% of its gross debt — enough to service 28 months of payables. Total repayments for the rest of this fiscal year are Rs 7,787 crore, which will rise to Rs 19,636 crore next fiscal year and peak at Rs 35,433 crore in the fiscal year through March 2027. The group has maintained that its debt maturity every year is covered by cash balances and fund flows from operations. Domestic banks and financial institutions' exposure to the Adani Group has increased to 42% of total loans in the first half of the year from 36% at the end of March, a company presentation showed. While exposure by global banks has fallen to 27% of total debt in September 2024 from 29% at the end of March 2023, indicating increasing dependence of the group to local lenders. The Met Office has said it is "committed to learning the lessons from Storm Bert" after criticism of its weather forecasts. The weather service also defended itself, pointing out that "observed rainfall totals were broadly in line with the forecast and the severe weather warnings issued in advance". Check forecast in your area Through the end of last week and into the weekend, the storm brought torrential rain and winds over 80mph to parts of the UK. At least four people have died since Storm Bert began, leaving communities badly flooded and turning roads into rivers. It brought a month's worth of rain in one weekend to parts of the UK, with the hills of South Wales the worst hit. Labour MP for Cardiff West Alex Barros-Curtis claimed warnings should have been "amber or red". He said: "Can I ask that the secretary of state [Environment Secretary Steve Reed] speak to his Department for Science, Innovation and Technology colleagues to carefully look into the role of the Met Office here? "It is clear that their response was slow and that there was a clear underestimation of the impact of Storm Bert. "They put it yellow rather than amber or red. Our constituents have been let down by this incompetence before, and it cannot keep happening." However, in response to this and other criticism, Met Office services director Simon Brown said that rainfall levels were "within the expected range of that forecast". He added that the warnings in place also highlighted the danger from the floods and outlined how "many factors" play a role in their warning strategy. Mr Brown continued: "I'm committed to learning the lessons from Storm Bert to support even greater preparedness and we will be reviewing our warning strategy and how this linked to flood models in the coming weeks and days. "Today my team and I have been working with stakeholder, partners and customers to start to review Storm Bert." Weather forecast Extreme weather events like Storm Bert are becoming more common with human-induced climate change, studies show. Provisional statistics show that White Barrow, in Devon, experienced the most rainfall during Storm Bert with 175.7mm (6.91") between 23 November and midnight 25 November. Treherbert, Tyn-Y-Waun in South Wales recorded 171.6mm (6.76") at a Natural Resources Wales rain gauge over the same period and winds of 82mph were recorded in Capel Curig, Gwynedd. NoneRichmond may have shelved Dustin Martin’s No.4 for the time being, but the Sydney Swans have opted to refill the No.23 made famous by superstar Lance Franklin with a draftee. Ned Bowman, who was drafted from Norwood in South Australia as Sydney’s second pick, will wear the number Franklin wore with distinction in 354 games, including 172 for the Sydney Swans, after being traded to the Harbour City at the end of the 2013 season from Hawthorn. Franklin retired with little fanfare at the end of 2023, finishing with a mind-boggling 1066 goals. His number 23 was left vacant for the 2024 season but will be on the field again in 2025. Clubs are increasingly making efforts to hand famous jumper numbers to top draftees, with West Coast giving No.9, worn with distinction by club greats Ben Cousins and then Nic Naitanui, to No.1 draft pick Harley Reid in 2024. Sydney officials haven’t shied away from lofty ambitions for all their draftees either. The club’s third pick in the draft, Riley Bice, will wear No.26, which was recently vacated by champion Swan Luke Parker, who moved to North Melbourne. Parker was a former club co-captain, a 2012 premiership player, multiple best-and-fairest winner and played 293 games in the guernsey. “We think long and hard about the allocation of jumper numbers and we feel these new players will wear them with pride,” Swans football boss Leon Cameron said. “Obviously, jumper numbers 20, 23 and 26 have recently been worn by Sydney Swans champions, so we didn’t hand these out lightly, but we believe these kids will represent themselves well. “I look forward to seeing all the new players run out in the red and white next year, hoping they will make these jumpers their own.” The Swans are entering a new phase after a horror grand final loss to the Brisbane Lions, with Dean Cox replacing long-term coach John Longmire, who stood down last month after 15 seasons in charge. New Sydney Swans player guernsey numbers: 18 ......... Jesse Dattoli 20 ......... Riak Andrew 23 ......... Ned Bowman 25 ......... Ben Paton 26 ......... Riley Bice 32 ......... Blake Leidler Originally published as Sydney draftee from South Australia will wear the number 23 made famous by Lance FranklinPORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti (AP) — The United Nations raised the death toll of a recent massacre in which dozens of older people and Vodou religious leaders were killed by a gang in Haiti, and called on officials to bring the perpetrators to justice. The U.N. Integrated Office in Haiti said in a report published on Monday that between Dec. 6 and 11 more than 207 people were killed by the Wharf Jeremie gang. The gang took people from their homes and from a place of worship, interrogated them and then executed them with bullets and machetes. Earlier this month, human rights groups in Haiti had estimated that more than 100 people were killed in the massacre, but the new U.N. investigation doubles the number of victims. “We cannot pretend that nothing happened” said María Isabel Salvador, the U.N. secretary-general’s special representative in Haiti. “I call on the Haitian justice system to thoroughly investigate these horrific crimes and arrest and punish the perpetrators, as well as those who support them," she said in a statement. Human rights groups in Haiti said the massacre began after the son of Micanor Altès, the leader of the Wharf Jeremie gang, died from an illness. The Cooperative for Peace and Development, a human rights group, said that according to information circulating in the community, Altès accused people in the neighborhood of causing his son’s illness. “He decided to cruelly punish all elderly people and (Vodou) practitioners who, in his imagination, would be capable of casting a bad spell on his son,” the group said in a statement released shortly after news of the massacre emerged. In Monday's report, the United Nations said that people were tracked down in their homes and in a place of worship by Altès’ gang, where they were first interrogated and then taken to an execution site. The United Nations said that the gang tried to erase evidence of the killings by burning bodies, or by dismembering them and throwing them into the sea. The massacre is the latest humanitarian tragedy in Haiti, where gang violence has intensified since the nation’s president was killed in a 2021 coup attempt . Haiti has struggled to organize an election that will fill the power vacuum and restore democratic rule. The Caribbean nation is currently governed by a transitional council that includes representatives from the business community, civil society and political parties, but its government has no control over many areas of the capital city, and gangs are constantly fighting over ports, highways and neighborhoods. According to the United Nations, more than 5,350 people have been killed in Haiti’s gang wars this year. The Haitian government acknowledged the massacre against older people in a statement issued earlier this month, and promised to persecute those responsible for this act of “unspeakable carnage.”

Article content TORONTO — Canada’s premiers are meeting virtually Wednesday with the prime minister to discuss the threat of U.S. tariffs on Canadian imports, and Ontario Premier Doug Ford said he hopes to talk about the country’s approach to negotiations. Recommended Videos It comes two weeks after the premiers’ last meeting with Justin Trudeau, where they discussed how to respond to U.S. president-elect Donald Trump’s warning that he will impose a 25 per cent tariff on goods from Canada and Mexico when he takes office next month. The federal government promised at the last meeting to update the premiers, Ford said. “They said they were going to come back with a plan to put together a proposal, No. 1 to strengthen our borders and hopefully meet our two-per-cent NATO commitment,” Ford said. Trudeau has committed to meet NATO members’ pledge to spend at least two per cent of GDP on national defence by 2032. Trudeau recently flew to Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida to dine with the president-elect and some of his cabinet nominees for an informal discussion on trade and border security. News of the first ministers’ meeting comes the same day as Trump tauntingly took to social media to say it was a pleasure to dine with “Governor Justin Trudeau of the Great State of Canada,” a nod to a joke he made at the dinner that he might make Canada the 51st U.S. state. Trump has said the tariffs would remain in effect until Canada and Mexico stop illegal border crossings and prevent drugs like fentanyl from entering the U.S. Ontario has produced a slick ad to highlight the mutually beneficial trade connections between the province and the United States, and recently began rolling it out in a massive campaign that includes Fox News prime time, NFL football games and at Washington, D.C., airports over the holidays. The ads will also run in Washington on transit shelters and billboards, as well as across target states via digital channels and prime placement for Super Bowl streaming on the Fox Sports app, the premier’s office has said. Ontario’s minister of economic development, job creation and trade was in Washington, D.C., this week meeting with officials from the U.S. Senate and Congress, and said they had all seen Ontario’s ads. “They also caught the subtleties, like we’ve got the critical minerals that you need,” Vic Fedeli said. “They need us for these things that are very valuable for their military or chips that they want to make. So there’s a lot of things they’re going to need from us, and that’s why we’re running commercials. That’s why we’re taking these trips down there to make sure that all the right people are talking about all the right points.” On Fedeli’s last trip to the U.S. he met with both Republicans and Democrats, but this time focused solely on Republicans, he said. “We’ve got to start focusing now on people who are going to be crafting laws if these things happen to be done by legislation,” Fedeli said. He is heading back to the U.S. in January, to Nevada, California, Michigan and to Washington, D.C. on inauguration day.
