‘Rani Gaidinliu’ directed by Dimple Dugar and Deepak S. V., tells the story of a little-known Naga spiritual leader and freedom fighter. Although Gaidinliu was captured at a young age and served a long prison term, Dugar states that her courage inspired and brought hope to many. For their research, the filmmakers relied heavily on professor Niumai Ajailu, who had previously written about Gaidinliu and maintained a close relationship with her family. What makes this National Film Development Corporation Limited -produced film interesting is the cutting-edge digital technology used in its creation. “We’ve played a groundbreaking role by using metahuman Unreal Engine technology. The hyper-realistic characters are brought to life with motion capture and facial expression technology. It’s not 3D or AI; they are not robotic. The characters look 99% human,” explains Dugar. “The environment is also completely realistic, thanks to Unreal Engine technology. The film is entirely virtually produced.” Dugar, who has an background in VFX and animation, has worked on television and has also directed over 300 ad films and short films. Thus, combining these skills, she wanted to create something groundbreaking, resulting in ‘Rani Gaidinliu’. “We actually have a two-hour script for this film, but the technology is very expensive, so we condensed it into a 17-minute film. ,” she says, adding that she has two other films in the pipeline—one a psychological thriller and the other focusing on the Indian Army.

(AP) — President-elect Donald Trump said Wednesday that he has chosen Keith Kellogg, a highly decorated retired three-star general, to serve as his special envoy for Ukraine and Russia. Kellogg, who is one of the architects of a staunchly conservative policy book that lays out an “America First” national security agenda for the incoming administration, will come into the role as Russia’s invasion of Ukraine enters its third year in February. Trump made the announcement on his Truth Social account, and said “He was with me right from the beginning! Together, we will secure PEACE THROUGH STRENGTH, and Make America, and the World, SAFE AGAIN!” Kellogg, an 80 year-old retired Army lieutenant general who has long been Trump’s top adviser on defense issues, served as national security adviser to Vice President Mike Pence , was chief of staff of the National Security Council and then stepped in as an acting security adviser for Trump after Michael Flynn resigned. As special envoy for Ukraine and Russia, Kellogg will have to navigate an increasingly untenable war between the two nations. The Biden administration has begun urging Ukraine to quickly increase the size of its military by drafting more troops and revamping its mobilization laws to allow for the conscription of troops as young as 18. The White House has pushed more than $56 billion in security assistance to Ukraine since the start of Russia’s February 2022 invasion and expects to send billions more to Kyiv before Biden leaves office in less than months. Trump has criticized the billions that the Biden administration has poured into Ukraine. Washington has recently stepped up weapons shipments and has forgiven billions in loans provided to Kyiv. Kellogg in April wrote that “bringing the Russia-Ukraine war to a close will require strong, America First leadership to deliver a peace deal and immediately end the hostilities between the two warring parties.” Trump’s proposed national security advisor U.S. Rep. Michael Waltz (R-Fla.) tweeted Wednesday that “Keith has dedicated his life to defending our great country and is committed to bringing the war in Ukraine to a peaceful resolution.” Kellogg was a character in multiple Trump investigations dating to his first term. He was among the administration officials who listened in on the July 2019 call between Trump and Volodymyr Zelenskyy in which Trump prodded his Ukrainian counterpart to pursue investigations into the Bidens. The call, which Kellogg would later say did not raise any concerns on his end, was at the center of the first of two House impeachment cases against Trump, who was acquitted by the Senate both times. The team, whose names were published in the Friday Kenya Gazette, will explore the viability of the senator’s presidential bid for the August 27, 2027 General Election. “We are at a pivotal moment in our nation’s history, and the call to serve has never been more urgent. After careful consideration and consultations with trusted advisors, community leaders, and citizens from all walks of life, I am pleased to announce the formation of a Presidential Exploratory Committee,” said Omtatah Saturday. He said the formation of the team was a “crucial step in ensuring that our vision for the future aligns with the hopes and aspirations of Kenyans.” The six-member team will conduct opinion polls and surveys, to assess the aspirant’s popularity, name recognition and electability, evaluate the current political landscape, including the strengths of potential opponents and analyze national, regional and demographic political trends and assess public sentiment on key issues. The committee is also supposed to develop an initial campaign strategy and draft a high-level campaign roadmap outlining potential alliances, timelines, and resources required, among others. “The mandate of the committee will be to assess the aspirant’s ability to raise campaign funds, develop and implement an initial fundraising strategy including outreach to potential donors, track and report all funds raised, ensuring compliance with Kenyan electoral finance regulations in the performance of its functions,” said the Gazette notice. The committee, to be led by Mary Kathomi Riungu, will be in office for a period not exceeding 18 months and will be dissolved once the senator formally announces his candidacy or decision not to run. Charles Ile Kabaiku will be the deputy chairperson while David John Bwakali will be the political and grassroots strategist. Omatata is a first-time senator and an activist known for his prowess in filing court cases for public interest, especially against the policies of the government that he deems oppressive and illegal.
