Rumble’s big new streamer, Dr Disrespect, could be getting ready to start broadcasting on X, as well, after the site finally monetized the creator. The end of November and the month of December have been filled with considerable victories for Dr Disrespect after losing revenue from his YouTube streams in June after the reason for his Twitch ban was finally revealed. On November 25, Rumble announced that Dr Disrespect had joined the free speech platform to lead the site’s gaming section, acting as an advisor. His signing even caused Rumble’s market value to jump $200M . His first stream wasn’t too shabby either, pulling in 40,000 viewers while multi-streaming on YouTube. Despite his enjoying his new home on Rumble, it seems like Dr Disrespect could be taking his talents to yet another platform after viewers spotted that his X account had been monetized. Dr Disrespect hints at X content after monetization Back in September, Dr Disrespect returned to YouTube following allegations from former Twitch staff that he had sent inappropriate messages to a minor ( something he disputed ) and hinted that he could post new content on X. In a skit, ‘Robo Doc’ told viewers to “subscribe on X,” despite the streamer not having his subscribe button on Elon Musk’s site set up just yet. The skit pic.twitter.com/pJdQh6kS1a “Don’t give things away, man. Hold off,” he joked. On December 12, many months later, Dr Disrespect’s X account was finally monetized, with fans eagerly pointing out that the subscribe button was active. “How did this get leaked?” Doc responded to the news. “I haven’t prepared anything... yet.” Related: How did this get leaked? I haven’t prepared anything... yet. Yaya One possibility could be that Dr Disrespect will stream on X and Rumble simultaneously before switching to his exclusive content on Rumble Premium. X entered the streaming wars in September with the launch of X Gaming, and has since brought on creators such as TimTheTatman. Doc’s fans have been excited at the opportunity. “This is a good move... cover every platform you possibly can for convenience purposes,” one said. “Let’s go! I knew he would utilize X eventually. That’s the ambitious entrepreneur in him,” another praised. One other clue could point to Doc making the jump to X Gaming. Earlier this year, Dr Disrespect released a line of ‘Make Gaming Great Again’ merch, a phrase echoed by Rumble’s CEO Chris Pavlovski and even Elon Musk. On November 27, Elon announced he would be starting his own AI game studio to “make video games great again,” and later teased buying Hasbro to acquire the rights to D&D . We’ll have to see what the future holds and if Dr Disrespect opts to take his streams to yet another platform, but it seems like the two-time has something planned for X in due time.

'Happy Retirement' started trending on social media after Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli once again failed to put up a big score in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2024-25 on Monday. Chasing 340 runs in the fourth innings on the final day of the fourth Test match against Australia, Rohit and Kohli were dismissed for 9 and 5 respectively. Starting the final day on 228/9, Australia could add just six runs before Jasprit Bumrah cleaned up Nathan Lyon with a peach of a delivery. With a mammoth total to chase, Rohit along with Yashasvi Jaiswal, gave India a steady start. Unlike the previous innings, Rohit played the waiting game. However, a full length delivery that angled in on the off-side from Pat Cummins did the trick for Australia. Rohit, trying to flick, got a thick edge that went to Mitchell Marsh at slips. The Indian captain played 40 balls for nine. New man KL Rahul, too, departed in the same over for a duck. Kohli joined Jaiswal in the middle and played in the same way like Rohit. However, the former India captain's 29-ball vigil came to an end when the right-hander once again went for a delivery outside off-stump--that has troubled him often lately--at the stroke of lunch. How netizens reacted on Ro-Ko? The flop show by Rohit and Kohli didn't go well with the fans who vented their frustration on the internet, calling for the duo's retirement. "Kohli and Sharma have won us many matches. But with due respect , it’s time. Had Truth- we would have won BGT had Bumrah continued to lead. Last time also it was Rahane , pant , ashwin , Vihari n washi who won us," an user wrote. “Literally he is mentally done. Same thing for 4 years ain't a joke. Happy Retirement,” wrote another on Kohli. “Rohit & Virat retire from Tests. Thank you for the memories Happy Retirement #INDvsAUS,” another posted. Going by statistics, Kohli played 19 innings in 2024, scoring just 417 runs at an average of 24.52. On the other hand, Rohit played 26 innings, scoring 619 runs at an average of 24.76.TOUCHING tributes for the late Jimmy Carter have started to flood in for the "extraordinary leader" who has died aged 100. Joe Biden and Donald Trump have led the heartfelt messages to the beloved former president whose death was confirmed by his family earlier today. Carter, the oldest president in history , and the only one to become a centenarian, has been survived by five other American commander-in-chiefs who have all left touching homages to the great man. President-elect Donald Trump remembered Carter for his leadership and urged Americans to keep the late president's loved ones in their " hearts and prayers". Trump wrote on Truth Social: "The challenges Jimmy faced as President came at a pivotal time for our country and he did everything in his power to improve the lives of all Americans. "For that, we all owe him a debt of gratitude. "Melania and I are thinking warmly of the Carter Family and their loved ones during this difficult time." He later posted a second statement which acknowledged the pair's political and philosophical differences but praised Carter's clear love for America. "He truly loved and respected our Country, and all it stands for," Trump added. "He worked hard to make America a better place, and for that I give him my highest respect. "He was a truly good man and, of course, will be greatly missed. He was also very consequential, far more than most Presidents, after he left the Oval Office." The man Trump is set to replace in the White House in just a few weeks time in Joe Biden described Carter as an "extraordinary leader, statesman, and humanitarian". The fellow Democrat and close friend posted the loving tribute alongside his wife Jill. They said: "Over six decades, we had the honor of calling Jimmy Carter a dear friend." "He was a man of great character and courage, hope and optimism. We will always cherish seeing him and Rosalynn together." Joe, 82, has now taken on the title as the oldest living president following the passing of Carter. Barack Obama - the youngest living American leader - commended the late humanitarian with his wife Michelle. They said: "Maranatha Baptist Church will be a little quieter on Sundays, but President Carter will never be far away — buried alongside Rosalynn next to a willow tree down the road, his memory calling all of us to heed our better angels. "Michelle and I send our thoughts and prayers to the Carter family, and everyone who loved and learned from this remarkable man." Former President Bill Clinton and his wife Hillary also praised Carter's commitment to service. They praised him for his "long and good life" and applauded his belief in faith and selflessness. The final remaining president, George W. Bush, joined his wife Laura to call Carter “a man of deeply held convictions” who “dignified the office ". US vice president Kamala Harris made a similar statement praising Carter's "deep and abiding faith in God, America and in humanity". “He reminded our nation and the world that there is strength in decency and compassion," she continued. "I had the privilege of knowing President Carter for years. I will always remember his kindness, wisdom, and profound grace." Tributes to the statesman even came from overseas as the UK's Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer lauded Carter's service. The British PM said he “redefined the post-presidency with a remarkable commitment to social justice and human rights at home and abroad”. King Charles III also described the former US president as a “committed public servant” who “devoted his life to promoting peace”. Sir Tony Blair soon followed with a powerful statement. It read: "Jimmy Carter's life was a testament to public service; from his time in office, and the Camp David Accords, to his remarkable commitment to the cause of people and peace round the world over the past 40 years. "I always had the greatest respect for him, his spirit and his dedication. "He fundamentally cared and consistently toiled to help those in need." Carter , the 39th president of the United States , has died after nearly two years in hospice care. His son Chip Carter confirmed the former president died at his Georgia home on Sunday around 3:45 pm ET. Carter peacefully passed away surrounded by his family who paid an emotional tribute to the former leader. His son Chip said: “My father was a hero, not only to me but to everyone who believes in peace, human rights, and unselfish love. “My brothers, sister, and I shared him with the rest of the world through these common beliefs. "The world is our family because of the way he brought people together, and we thank you for honoring his memory by continuing to live these shared beliefs.” Public events will commemorate Carter in Atlanta and Washington, D.C. and a state funeral will be held, The Carter Center confirmed. The former president decided to live out the remainder of his days at his home in Plains, Georgia . Carter, the beloved Democrat and Nobel Peace Prize winner, had experienced several health issues in recent years including melanoma that spread to his liver and brain. He became the longest-living president and the first to make it 100 years old. Carter's death came over a year after the death of his wife, Rosalynn Carter , who died on November 19, 2023, at age 96. Two days before her death, Rosalynn joined her husband in hospice care at their home in Georgia. The former first lady and fierce advocate for mental health was diagnosed with dementia in early 2023. Before his death, Jimmy Carter was the first to pay tribute to his wife of 77 years, "Rosalynn was my equal partner in everything I ever accomplished. "She gave me wise guidance and encouragement when I needed it. As long as Rosalynn was in the world, I always knew somebody loved and supported me."

BARCELONA, Spain -- Tens of thousands of Spaniards marched in downtown Barcelona on Saturday to protest the skyrocketing cost of renting an apartment in the popular tourist destination. Protesters cut off traffic on main avenues in the city center, holding up homemade signs in Spanish reading “Fewer apartments for investing and more homes for living" and “The people without homes uphold their rights.” The lack of affordable housing has become one of the leading concerns for the southern European Union country, mirroring the housing crunch across many parts of the world, including the United States . Organizers said that over 170,000 had turned out, while Barcelona’s police said they estimated some 22,000 marched. Either way, the throngs of people clogging the streets recalled the massive separatist rallies at the height of the previous decade’s Catalan independence movement. Now, social concerns led by housing have displaced political crusades. That is because the average rent for Spain has doubled in last 10 years. The price per square meter has risen from 7.2 euros ($7.5) in 2014 to 13 euros this year, according to the popular online real estate website Idealista. The growth is even more acute in cities like Barcelona and Madrid. Incomes meanwhile have failed to keep up, especially for younger people in a country with chronically high unemployment. Protester Samuel Saintot said he is “frustrated and scared” after being told by the owners of the apartment he has rented for the past 15 years in Barcelona’s city center that he must vacate the premises. He suspects that the owners want him out so they can renovate it and boost the price. “Even looking in a 20- or 30-kilometer radius outside town, I can’t even find anything within the price range I can afford,” he told The Associated Press. “And I consider myself a very fortunate person, because I earn a decent salary. And even in my case, I may be forced to leave town.” A report by the Bank of Spain indicates that nearly 40% of Spaniards who rent dedicate an average of 40% of their income to paying rents and utilities, compared to the European Union average of 27% of renters who do so. “We are talking about a housing emergency. It means people having many difficulties both in accessing and staying in their homes,” said Ignasi Martí, professor for Esade business school and head of its Dignified Housing Observatory. The rise in rents is causing significant pain in Spain, where traditionally people seek to own their homes. Rental prices have also been driven up by short-term renters including tourists. Many migrants to Spain are also disproportionately hit by the high rents because they often do not have enough savings. Spain is near the bottom end of OECD countries with under 2% of all housing available being public housing for rent. The OECD average is 7%. Spain is far behind France, with 14%, Britain with 16%, and the Netherlands with 34%. “I think it’s impossible to make prices fall to what they were a few years back. It makes me cry,” said protester Laia Pizjuán. “It's so upsetting. I know so many people who are in a bad situation. I have relatives living together in crowded apartments because they can’t afford to live on their own.” Carme Arcarazo, spokesperson for Barcelona’s Tenants Union which helped organize the protest, said that renters should consider a “rent strike” and cease paying their monthly rents in a mass protest movement. “I think we the tenants have understood that this depends on us. That we can’t keep asking and making demands to the authorities and waiting for an answer. We must take the reins of the situation,” Arcarazo told the AP. “So, if they (the owners) won’t lower the rent, then we will force them to do it." The Barcelona protest came a month after tens of thousands rallied against high rents in Madrid. The rising discontent over housing is putting pressure on Spain’s governing Socialist party, which leads a coalition on the national level and is in charge of Catalonia’s regional government and Barcelona’s city hall. Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez presided over what the government termed a “housing summit” including government officials and real estate developers last month. But the Barcelona’s Tenants Union boycotted the event, saying it was like calling a summit for curing cancer and inviting tobacco companies to participate. The leading government measure has been a rent cap mechanism that the central government has offered to regional authorities based on a price index established by the housing ministry. Rent controls can be applied to areas deemed to be “highly stressed” by high rental prices. Catalonia was the first region to apply those caps, which are in place in downtown Barcelona. Many locals blame the million of tourists who visit Barcelona, and the rest of Spain, each year for the high prices. Barcelona’s town hall has pledged to completely eliminate the city’s 10,000 so called “tourist apartments,” or dwellings with permits for short-term rents, by 2028.Mary Fowler's has been overshadowed by a serious injury to captain Alex Greenwood, with fans left devastated for the English star. Fowler and helped City defeat St Polten in the women's Champions League on Thursday night to maintain top spot in Group D. It was Fowler's second win in two games since returning to action following her decision to against Brazil and Chinese Taipei to prioritise her physical and mental health. The break appears to have done the trick, with Fowler scoring a cracking goal earlier this week in the Super League and following it up with another solid performance on Wednesday night. But her successful return was overshadowed when Greenwood went down with a horrible-looking injury against St Polten. The England defender went down in obvious pain during the first half and was clutching her left knee. She covered her face with her shirt as she was carried off the field on a stretcher. City will be hoping the injury isn't as bad as it looked, but there are fears she might have done her ACL. There was been a plague of ACL injuries to hit the women's game in recent years, with Matildas captain with one. Greenwood's injury also marred a night which saw a debut to remember for 18-year-old Lily Murphy, who only signed her first professional contract last week. The teenager was lively throughout the game and held her arms aloft in delight when she tapped in the opening goal in the 55th minute, with Kerstin Casparij also scoring her first goal for the club. The victory maintained City's perfect record in the Champions League. However Barcelona's 3-0 victory over Hammarby means Fowler's team are not yet assured of top spot in the group ahead of a trip to Catalonia next week. Hope she's back on the pitch soon 🙏 — Aabid (@theabuabid) Was absolutely heartbreaking to see her so distressed, wish the cameras would have for respect for the players and not show them in those situations. — Toni Hazell (@tonihazell) I’m praying it’s not as bad as it looked. 🤞🏻🤞🏻 — Nicole (@nrstanley01) If Alex Greenwood has torn her ACL cancel the whole of next years euros I’m so serious — Eden Morgan (@EdenVMorgan) genuinely praying that alex greenwood is okay and makes a safe and speedy recovery. such an important player for both club and country right now in such consistent form, an absolutely heartbreaking thing to see☹️ — emily (@emilykatrinah_) Wishing a super speedy recovery. Such a warrior of a player, she doesn’t go off the pitch without a real reason. That looked serious. — Jenni 🏳️‍🌈❤️‍🔥🏳️‍⚧️ (@Jenwah) Meanwhile, fellow Matildas players Caitlin Foord and Kyra Cooney-Cross started in Arsenal's 3-1 win at Valerenga, while Steph Catley wasn't required. Alessio Russo scored a double as the Gunners took a big step towards securing top spot in Group C. Arsenal were already guaranteed a quarter-final berth after a narrow victory at home to Juventus last month, but the three points in Norway keep alive the prospect of beating current leaders Bayern Munich to first position in the group. First-half goals by Russo and Frida Maanum put Renee Slegers' side in control before England forward Russo grabbed a second after the break. Foord was brilliant on the wing and set up a number of attacking raids, including one that resulted in Maanum's goal. Arsenal earned an eighth win in nine under interim coach Slegers ahead of Wednesday's visit of Bayern, who are one point ahead of the English club following a 4-0 triumph over Juventus.
