Avior Wealth Management LLC Buys 4,862 Shares of Arbor Realty Trust, Inc. (NYSE:ABR)IonQ ( IONQ 12.80% ) stock posted big gains in Friday's trading. The quantum-computing company's share price closed out the daily session up 12.9%. Meanwhile, the S&P 500 index ended the day roughly flat, and the Nasdaq Composite index closed out the session up 0.1%. IonQ stock gained ground today amid rising investor enthusiasm for quantum-computing stocks. The recent bullish surge in the space was kicked off earlier this week by the unveiling of Alphabet 's Willow chip, which has delivered a major leap forward in quantum capabilities. IonQ gets a boost from Alphabet's Willow On Monday, Alphabet 's Google division published a blog post detailing the achievements of its new Willow chip. The tech giant also published a report in Nature detailing the results of a benchmark test achieved by the chip. Google's Willow chip managed to complete a random circuit sampling (RCS) benchmark computing test in less than five minutes. These tests are used as a way to measure the capabilities and efficiency of quantum-computing machines at tasks that are far more difficult for traditional computers. For comparison, Google says that the benchmark computing test completed with its Willow chip would have taken one of the world's top supercomputers 10 septillion years to finish. As a result of Willow's benchmark test results, Alphabet saw a significant uptick in bullish momentum. IonQ stock initially fell following the Willow news, but it gained ground today as investors poured into quantum-computing stocks. But even with today's gains, the company's share price still ended the week down 11.5%. What comes next for IonQ stock? Alphabet is potentially a competitor for IonQ in the quantum-computing space. Additionally, it's a much larger company and has access to much greater computing and financial resources. Accordingly, it's difficult to map out what exactly the achievements of Google's Willow chip will mean for the smaller company's long-term performance outlook. On the other hand, the Willow chip appears to have solved a significant problem in quantum computing -- and that could ultimately be a good thing for IonQ. The Willow chip has actually been able to deliver lower error rates as qubits within the system are scaled. This marks a major departure, as error rates have normally increased in conjunction with the number of qubits. Google also says that errors are able to be corrected in real time within the Willow circuit. The chip's impressive technology could wind up being utilized by IonQ at some point. Alternatively, the company could aim to produce similar technological results on its own now that the significant qubit scaling result has been achieved. While commercial applications for quantum computing aren't expected to arrive before 2030, recent progress for the technology and the potential for it to power huge leaps forward for artificial intelligence and other categories could continue pushing IonQ stock higher.
Since joining Manchester City, Pep Guardiola has amassed 18 major trophies, including six Premier League titles in the past seven seasons. His remarkable run has led City to an unprecedented four consecutive league victories, culminating in a historic treble in 2023 that fulfilled the ambitions of the club’s Abu Dhabi-based owners by winning the Champions League for the first time. This latest triumph brought Guardiola ‘s career total to three Champions League titles, equalling the second-highest tally in the competition’s history. Guardiola’s Relentless Drive Despite his immense success, Guardiola’ s hunger for more trophies remains undiminished, leading to his decision to sign a two-year contract extension, extending his stay at the Etihad beyond a decade. His track record is staggering, with 12 league titles in just 15 seasons as a senior coach across Spain, Germany, and England. “I felt I could not leave now, simple as that,” Guardiola stated, reflecting on his commitment to the club amid challenging times on and off the pitch. Challenges On and Off the Pitch City’s recent struggles, including four consecutive defeats and a series of injuries — notably the loss of Ballon d’Or winner Rodri for the rest of the season — have tested Guardiola like never before. Compounding matters is the ongoing hearing regarding 115 charges of alleged breaches of Premier League rules, raising uncertainties over City’s future standing. Despite these challenges, Guardiola remains focused: “I felt the club still want me,” he said, expressing his resolve to steer City through turbulent waters. Beyond Silverware: Changing the Face of Football Guardiola’s influence transcends trophies. His philosophy of possession-based football and building play from the back has revolutionized the game, influencing tactics at all levels — from grassroots to the elite. Rivals have looked to replicate his success; Arsenal, led by his former assistant Mikel Arteta, pushed City to the brink last season, finishing just two points behind. Chelsea and Liverpool have also sought guidance from Guardiola’s methods, appointing coaches influenced by his style. Impact on English Football Guardiola’s arrival in England has even been credited with transforming the national team’s performances at major tournaments. His influence on key players like Kyle Walker, John Stones, and Phil Foden has been instrumental to England’s resurgence. Former national team manager Gareth Southgate lauded Guardiola’s impact: “They have learned from him, individually and tactically, and, as much as anything, their mentality.” Keeping the Premier League Competitive While Guardiola’s exacting standards have elevated Manchester City to new heights, they have also raised questions about the competitive balance of the Premier League. Even amid recent struggles, City remain just five points behind league leaders Liverpool, showcasing the relentless nature of Guardiola’s ambitions. The Quest for More Trophies With 39 trophies already in his collection, Guardiola’s focus remains on adding to Manchester City’s silverware haul. As he approaches the latter stages of his tenure in Manchester, he continues to appreciate the unique support he has received at the club: “I have everything a manager could ever wish for, and I appreciate that so much,” he said. “Hopefully now we can add more trophies to the ones we have already won. That will be my focus.” Guardiola’s renewed commitment signals a determination to lead City through adversity while cementing his legacy as one of football’s greatest and most influential managers.Halftime Musings: Kansas offense dominates way to 23-14 lead over Colorado
The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has given Elon Musk until Monday to respond to an offer to resolve a probe into the billionaire's $44-billion takeover of Twitter in 2022, Reuters reported quoting a source. The development, which signals the investigation may be nearing a conclusion, is the latest salvo in a year-long public feud between the top U.S. markets regulator and the world's richest man, as per a Reuters report. Musk on Thursday posted on X a copy of a letter sent by his lawyer to SEC Chair Gary Gensler saying the agency had given Musk 48 hours to agree to pay a penalty to settle the probe or face civil charges, and demanding to know whether Gensler was personally behind the development. Elon Musk's Twitter Venture The SEC has been investigating whether Musk broke securities laws in 2022 when he bought stock in Twitter, which Musk subsequently renamed X, as well as statements and filings he made in relation to the deal, previous disclosures show. According to the source, the agency has been probing Musk's SEC filing disclosing his Twitter share purchases, which was at least 10 days late, and whether he intended to benefit from that delay, which some academics have estimated saved Musk over $140 million. As part of the probe, the agency had asked a federal court to compel Musk to testify after the billionaire failed to show up to agreed depositions. A spokesperson with the SEC's public affairs office declined to comment. Musk's lawyer did not respond immediately to calls for comment. 48-Hour Deadline The SEC commonly tries to resolve probes through settlements rather than suing a defendant, but the initial 48-hour deadline was unusually tight, legal experts told Reuters. If Musk fails to respond, the SEC will likely proceed through a "Wells" notification process, a formal step in which the SEC outlines potential charges and allows Musk to respond, the source said. The Thursday letter Musk shared on X, which was signed by his attorney Alex Spiro, said the SEC has also reopened an investigation into Musk's brain-chip startup Neuralink. Neuralink did not respond to requests for comment. The nature of that inquiry is not clear, but U.S. lawmakers and animal-rights advocates have pressed the SEC to scrutinize comments Musk has made about the safety of Neuralink's implants. SEC After Elon Musk Since 2018 The SEC first sued Musk in 2018 during President-elect Donald Trump's first term, accusing him of breaking the law when he posted on social media that he had "funding secured" to take his electric carmaker Tesla private when the SEC found he had not. Despite ultimately settling and agreeing to an unusual arrangement requiring some of his posts to be vetted by an attorney, Musk subsequently disputed the SEC's findings in that case and has over the years accused the agency of harassment - claims Spiro reiterated in his Thursday letter. A major backer of Trump, Musk in the new administration will co-lead the new Department of Government Efficiency tasked with cutting government costs, potentially giving him some power over the SEC's workings. In his letter, Spiro intimated the SEC's bid to advance the probe may have been politically motivated. "We demand to know who directed these actions - whether it was you or the White House," Spiro wrote in the letter. But the source argued that failing to pursue what the SEC believes is a securities violation by Musk would in fact be the political move. FAQs What is new name of Twitter? New name of Twitter is 'X'. No. 2 Ohio State takes control in the 2nd half and runs over No. 5 Indiana 38-15
The Indian National Congress failed to score in the Maharashtra assembly elections even as the national party contested 101 seats out of the 288 constituencies. Lack of involvement from central leaders, infighting, lack of strong leadership, not addressing the local issues and confusion of seats impacted the Indian National Congress in the Maharashtra assembly results. “The INC focussed on the issues of the general elections which were non-relevant to Maharashtra. They did not focus on the grassroots problems of the people of Maharashtra while the BJP worked in every constituency throughout the last four months. The BJP learned its lesson and focused on minorities, Dalits and Marathas, their Ladli Behan scheme did wonders. Even inside the Congress, there was confusion, they gave a lot of importance to the Dharavi redevelopment which was focused only on Mumbai but they tried to make it a pan-Maharashtra issue. Even in the interiors, they failed to give a credible resolution to farmers issue,” said political analyst Abhay Deshpande to businessline .Experts stated that the lack of senior party leadership involvement in the election and not learning lessons from other States failed INC to succeed in Maharashtra. Further, despite the party’s strong national stance on farmer issues, it failed to impress the farmers and address their concerns in Maharashtra. “After Loksabha the INC was in overconfidence despite losing Haryana. On the other hand, BJP is in election mode 24/7 and they have a very extensive feedback review system with volunteers going on the field and submitting the results to higher-ups. In Maharashtra, the Congress was not even careful to select candidates,” said Advocate Vijay Kumar, Psephologist. In 2019, INC contested 147 seats in Maharashtra and won 44 seats in the state assembly elections. “The loss lies with the Congress as it is a national party and has a larger influence than other local parties in the influence. The party has ground-level influence across the state especially in backward Maharashtra. However, the party truly failed to understand what people wanted on the ground level and in the rural areas despite having strong powerful leaders from Vidarbha. Infighting with everyone wanting to be a CM face, the congress had a complete absence of State-level leadership in the state,” said Dr Surendra Jondhale, a political analyst.
