The hackathon attracted 70 participants from four public technical schools in Qatar, as well as 30 students from Qatar University and the University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST). The competition was held within the framework of QSTP’s AI Week 2024 and featured a series of innovative challenges designed to engage students in the practical applications of robotics to tackle real-world sustainability issues. Participants, aged between 15 and 18 years, were divided into two categories: high school students, who were tasked with solving specific challenges, and university students, who were given the freedom to address issues ranging from resource and waste management to sustainable agriculture. Over the course of the competition, participants attended a series of hands-on workshops led by QSC mentors and experts, who guided the students through each challenge, refining their skills in problem-solving, public speaking, and presenting their ideas. Dr Jack Lau, president of QSTP, said: “The AI hackathon marks an important initiative under our partnership with QSC to advance our shared objective of promoting innovation and enabling youth to contribute to Qatar National Vision 2030. “It was incredibly refreshing to see the energy and enthusiasm of the participants - a clear indicator of how much they enjoyed being part of the AI Hackathon.” Eman Al-Obaidi, head of Public Relations and Communications at QSC, said: “We are delighted to have partnered with QSTP and combine both our expertise to mentor, empower, and inspire youth to shape the future of Qatar. “The hackathon provided students with the opportunity to hone their programming skills and gain insights into environmental and social sustainability concepts in line with United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). ” Winners were selected based on the creativity of their solutions, the accuracy of their execution, and their idea’s potential to achieve sustainability goals. But even as they realized one goal by making the postseason, Harbaugh tried to keep things focused on the road ahead by stressing: “There's more to do.” The Chargers (10-6) go into the regular-season finale at Las Vegas knowing they will be at least the AFC's sixth seed and avoid a trip to Buffalo for the wild-card round. Los Angeles currently is in line to face Baltimore in a Harbaugh Bowl rematch, but it has an outside shot at the fifth seed and a trip to Houston if Cincinnati beats Pittsburgh next weekend. While Harbaugh credited his players for the turnaround from five wins last year to double-digit victories this season, Herbert gave most of it to Harbaugh and first-year general manager Joe Hortiz. “They have done such a great job of getting the right guys here. You look in the locker room and everybody plays for each other,” Herbert said. “(Harbaugh's) a competitor, and he wants to win no matter what it is. It definitely shows, and it’s the way everyone fights for him, wants to play for him, and respects him.” Harbaugh is the fifth coach in NFL history to win at least 10 games in his first season with two teams. He is also the eighth to make the playoffs in his first season with two teams. “Very little to do with me. If it goes right, then it’s our players. They’re doing a great job. It’s gone bad a couple times. That’s on me,” he said. “I’ve been drinking the Kool-Aid here from day one, I can’t give enough credit to Derwin James, Justin Herbert, and those two in particular. None( MENAFN - IANS) New Delhi, Nov 30 (IANS) To maximise mutual understanding of drills and procedures, the Indian army and Singapore armed forces on Saturday completed the three-day 13th edition of Joint Military Exercise AGNI WARRIOR (XAW-2024) in Maharashtra. The bilateral exercise between the armed forces of the two countries was organised at Field Firing Ranges, Devlali, said a statement. The exercise involved showcasing joint firepower planning, execution and use of New Generation Equipment by the Artillery arm of both armies. The three-day exercise conducted from November 28 to 30, witnessed participation by the Singapore Armed Forces contingent comprising 182 personnel from the Singapore Artillery and the Indian Army contingent comprising 114 personnel from the Regiment of Artillery. The aim of XAW-2024 was to maximise mutual understanding of drills and procedures to achieve jointness as a multinational force under the United Nations Charter. The event was witnessed by Lieutenant General Adosh Kumar, Director General of Artillery, Lieutenant General NS Sarna, Commandant, School of Artillery, and Colonel Ong Chiou Perng, Chief Artillery Officer, Singapore Armed Forces. The dignitaries appreciated the participating troops for displaying high levels of professional acumen and expertise. The exercise involved extensive joint preparation, coordination, understanding of each other's capabilities, procedures and evolution of common interface between Indian and Singapore Artillery procedures. It marked the culmination of successful training by Singapore Armed Forces troops exposing them to the intricacies of Fire Power planning. Both sides utilised niche technologies during the exercise and exchanged best practices as part of the joint training. During the last edition of the bilateral exercise in December 2022, both sides participated in a joint computer war-game as part of joint planning process. Both sides also utilised niche technology and Artillery Observation Simulators as part of joint training phase. Expert academic discussions were also conducted on modern trends in Artillery and refinement of the Artillery planning process. The charge sheet has been filed under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including 120-B (Criminal Conspiracy), 109 (Abetment), 409 (Criminal Breach of Trust), 420 (Cheating), 380 (Theft), 201 (Causing Disappearance of Evidence), and 411 (Dishonestly Receiving Stolen Property) and under Section 13(2) read with Section 13(1)(a) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 (as amended in 2018). The five individuals named in the charge sheet are Amit Kumar Singh, a resident of Dhanbad; Sudip Kumar, a resident of Bokaro, Yuvraj Kumar, a resident of Bokaro, Abhimanyu Patel, a resident of Nalanda, and Amit Kumar, a resident of Patna. With this, the total charge-sheeted accused in this case stands at 45, and all of them are still in judicial custody, the CBI said in a statement on Friday. The probe agency had earlier filed four charge sheets on August 1, 2024, September 19, October 5 and November 11 against 40 other accused. The CBI took over the investigation of the case from Shastri Nagar Police Station, Patna on June 23, 2024.
