Eight insurers exceeded these limits and have sought regulatory forbearance. The total management expenses across the life insurance industry amounted to ₹1.40 lakh crore, which is 16.94% of total premiums. At the same time, the non-life insurance industry saw a cumulative commission expense nearly double to ₹39,601 crore in FY24 against ₹20,145 crore in FY23.
