Gulf Energy Development Plc has been assigned an A+ corporate credit rating and an A rating for its senior unsecured debentures, with its outlook upgraded from "stable" to "positive" by Tris Rating Co. The upgrade reflects a positive view of the company's amalgamation with Intouch Holdings Plc (INTUCH). Tris also commented that following the amalgamation, the new company (NewCo) will have a stronger financial position, including highly predictable cash flows and well-diversified investments. Yupapin Wangviwat, deputy chief executive and chief financial officer of Gulf, said the A+ corporate credit rating and upgraded positive outlook reflected the company's strong financial standing, stable cash flow, low-risk business model, diversified business portfolio and effective financial management. The upgrade from a stable to positive outlook demonstrates Tris's confidence in the company's growth potential following the amalgamation with INTUCH, particularly NewCo's strengthened financial position with a lower debt-to-equity ratio. This development not only paves the way for potential credit rating upgrades but also opens opportunities for expanded investments, enabling the company to access competitive financing options to support long-term growth. Gulf also plans to issue additional bonds worth 25-30 billion baht early next year. Recently, Gulf also received an AAA rating in the Stock Exchange of Thailand's ESG Ratings 2024 in the resources category. This marks Gulf's sixth consecutive year of inclusion in the list of sustainable stocks, underscoring the company's commitment to sustainable business practices. This commitment is built on strong corporate governance, comprehensive risk management and the integration of environmental, social and governance principles into business operations.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — If artists want to launch an album with a bang, “ Amazon Music Live” could be the end zone to score big. Some of the biggest performers in music — including Jelly Roll, Megan Thee Stallion, Ed Sheeran , Kane Brown , Peso Pluma and Lil Baby — have graced the live stage during the weekly concert series in Los Angeles that airs after the NFL's “Thursday Night Football” game on Prime Video. Each show is a unique experience with artists debuting new music on bespoke sets created to bring their vision and style to life. This season's highlights have included J Balvin 's Latin vibe, Halsey 's Halloween circus intro and Gunna's big money talk. Big Sean was joined onstage by North Carolina A&T State University’s marching band, and Jhene Aiko , YG and E-40 made guest appearances. Now, it's Snoop Dogg 's turn to take the mic for “AML's” season finale this week, just ahead of his highly anticipated 20th album, “Missionary,” dropping next month. The performances are filmed live in front of more than a thousand audience members and streamed on Prime Video and Amazon's streaming platform, Twitch. Jelly Roll, a Grammy-nominated country singer, was the “AML” season opener in October just days after the release of his 10th studio album, “Beautifully Broken.” His special guests included Keith Urban , Skylar Grey and Machine Gun Kelly . “We could have planned our whole rollout around this,” Jelly Roll said. “I’m always excited to try to share what I do in front of new audiences or hope a new audience sees it or maybe the people at home who couldn’t see the tour or people who bought the album and see what it’s all about.” Last week, TWICE expanded their brand beyond their usual K-pop fandom after the Cleveland Browns upset the Pittsburgh Steelers. The nine-member group made Amazon Music history. The concert livestream earned the most unique viewers of any production — including Kendrick Lamar's “Pop Out” concert in June, and the Ye and Drake “Free Larry Hoover” show in 2021. “We’re normally used to performing just for our fans who are purposely coming to see us — especially in the U.S. where we are used to doing that,” said singer Nayeon, who was accompanied by group members Momo, Tzuyu, Mina, Minatozaki Sana, Dahyun, Jihyo, Jeongyeon and Chaeyoung. TWICE has performed inside major stadiums like MetLife and SoFi Stadium. But “AML” helped introduce them to first-time listeners, while also promoting their upcoming 14th mini-album “Strategy,” releasing Dec. 6. “For ‘Amazon Music Live,’ it’s not just about our fans, but it’s rather related to football,” Nayeon said. “It’s a lot of football fans to see us. To be invited here to perform is such an honor. We need to keep our game card for people to know who TWICE is.” Here's a behind-the-scenes look at how the concert series comes to life and those who play a key role. When Jelly Roll first entered the “AML” set, the singer thought it was just another rehearsal — until he found himself immersed in an unexpected interactive experience before stepping on the main stage. “I was overwhelmed. Got nervous,” said Jelly Roll, who was floored after he initially walked through the Tailgate Experience at the East End Studios in Glendale, California, where “AML” films season three. The experience offers a variety of attractions including flat-screen TVs above a massive circular bar, a spacious VIP section, photo booth, themed locker room, digital bonfire, featured vehicle, jersey patch station and a towering football toss game. All of this is set to the music of the week's concert series performer blasted through loudspeakers. “I wanted a space that was intentional and inclusive to everybody,” said Jameka Pankey, the head of events and experiential for artists at Amazon Music. She and her team wanted to make a concerted effort to pay homage to performers and the fans who enjoy their work. “We thought about all aspects of football and tailgating from fellowship, food and even how we were naming the drinks,” Pankey said. “When we were giving away gifts to fans. ... We had to do jerseys. I wanted this to be a fan experience that was out of mind.” Mission accomplished. At Amazon Music, collaboration has fueled success with departments joining forces to lock in the hottest talent of the week. But predicting a year out? That's a tough play when album releases are anyone's guess. They use their label connections and instincts to keep them ahead of the game and ready to pivot and lockdown the artist with the next big release. “We try to really be as genre agnostic and diverse as possible,” said Kirdis Postelle, global head of content and artist marketing at Amazon Music. She works with Andrew Sexton, who handles booking for “AML.” “Our team, along with myself, are active in conversations about this program,” said Sexton, who is considered a label relations guru. Some of the selling points to attract artists have been to capitalize off the NFL's huge viewership, promote their project and perform with top-notch production. “We're very active," he said. "We're always in communications with artist's teams and people are reaching out to us too. ... We're in constant conversations with the industry." Following a high-stakes “Thursday Night Football” matchup is plenty of pressure. But pulling off a live major concert after a big NFL showdown? That’s next-level intensity. “It’s the challenge which is fungible start time,” said Ed Walker, the head of video studios at Amazon Music. He played an integral role in the concert series moving from a shared studio lot in Hollywood to now filming at East End Studios — a complex with more than 96,000-square-feet of space, including two soundstages, a rooftop terrace, green rooms and three stories of office space. After the game wraps, there’s an hour preshow on Twitch and a top-of-show segment that takes audiences into the artist’s world. The hope is to create a “closer connection” before their performance, introducing more insight into the artist’s project. There are sweepstakes and competitions to maintain intrigue. “We immerse them into what they are about to see,” he said. “That is a moving target. You have a very large audience watching football, and then we have direct communications to the control room broadcasting that and they are giving us real time updates.” Walker admits it’s a tough balancing act, keeping the football audience engaged while also entertaining “AML” viewers before the show kicks off. “We got to meet in the middle, entertain them all, give them context and start the show,” he said. “While all that’s happening, we have to make sure the artist is on the stage and hits the cue on time.” While artists are rehearsing, Postelle wants to make sure they’re comfortable and don't leave. That led to the idea of an artist experience with food, games, drinks and privacy. “We do that to make artists feel good about spending so much time here,” Postelle said. “The last thing you want is for somebody to be like ‘I’m going back to the hotel to take a shower’ and they fall asleep. Then we’ll have a big problem.” Each week, select customers in the Los Angeles area are invited to purchase $15 tickets for that week's performance during an exclusive superfan presale or general onsale. Live events company DICE tracks upcoming events and uses audience targeting based on fan interests to notify potential attendees.
SAN DIEGO (AP) — Mark Few liked what he saw unfold at San Diego State's Viejas Arena when his No. 3 Gonzaga Bulldogs made their first foray outside of Spokane, Washington, this season. A double-digit victory in a packed, loud arena. Toughness from a deep, experienced lineup that once again is driven to win an elusive national championship. And, peeking a few seasons ahead, he saw an SDSU team that he views more as a future Pac-12 partner than rival. Behind big man Graham Ike and guard Ryan Nembhard, Gonzaga displayed its size, speed and strength in beating Brian Dutcher's young, hobbled squad 80-67 on Monday night. The Bulldogs returned the favor after SDSU won 84-74 last December at The Kennel in Spokane, which ended their 59-game nonconference winning streak. Both teams reached the Sweet Sixteen last season. Gonzaga is the only team in the nation to reach the Sweet Sixteen the last nine seasons as the Bulldogs extended their streak of NCAA Tournament appearances to 25 straight. Back in Spokane on Wednesday night, the Zags improved to 5-0 by routing Long Beach State 84-41, no doubt firing up expectations in the Lilac City and beyond. In a college sports climate dominated by NIL and the transfer portal, the Zags are stacked. Of the 12 possible players who could return from last year, 10 did, including all four starters. They returned 81% of last season's scoring and 71% of their rebounding. Six of its top seven scorers are back, along with 81.4% of minutes played. “We're tougher,” Few said. “We're physically tougher, we're mentally tougher, at least so far in the season. A lot of the same guys from last year. That's what happens when you stick around a couple of years. “You've got to have both to be able to go on the road in a place like this and dig out wins," Few added. "That's one thing San Diego State is going to bring. They're going to bring physicality, they're going to bring great athleticism, they're going to challenge you in every facet of the game.” Hoops powerhouse Gonzaga announced on Oct. 1 that it will move from the West Coast Conference, where it has dominated for most of the last quarter-century, into a Pac-12 conference being rebuilt around football. Beginning with the 2026-27 academic year, Gonzaga will become the eighth member along with holdovers Washington State and Oregon State, and fellow newcomers Boise State, San Diego State, Fresno State, Utah State and Colorado State from the Mountain West. While not as dominant as the Zags, the Aztecs have been one of the West Coast's best programs for several years, first under Steve Fisher and then Dutcher, his longtime assistant who is in his eighth season as head coach. “They're just going to be such a great partner, because they value basketball and they support basketball,” said Few, who's in his 26th season as head coach. “They understand, when you have a national program like we both have, it pays unbelievable dividends to the university, to the community, to the city and the state, like the Northwest and down here. They get that. We're looking for other like-minded places to partner with us.” Few said he would often chat with Fisher about the possibility of the Zags and Aztecs playing in the same conference. Fisher watches Aztecs games with his wife, Angie, from the second row above Steve Fisher Court. “We talked about it forever,” Few said. “I'm happy for Dutch. He's doing a great job." San Diego State reached its first Final Four in 2023, when Lamont Butler's thrilling buzzer-beater against Florida Atlantic lifted the Aztecs into the national championship game, where they lost 76-59 to UConn. SDSU was routed again by UConn, 82-52, in last season's Sweet Sixteen, while Gonzaga lost to Purdue. Gonzaga opened this season with a 101-63 win against then-No. 8 Baylor at the Spokane Arena. It was Gonzaga’s biggest victory margin over a top-10 opponent, over a team it lost to in the 2021 national title game in Indianapolis. Nembhard, who had 19 points and 10 assists against the Aztecs, said the Zags “did a really good job, actually,” of handling the pressure of playing at Viejas Arena. "Every time they went on a little run and the crowd got loud, we did a good job staying composed and trusting our offensive sets.” Nembhard will be gone when the Bulldogs and Aztecs are in the Pac-12 together, but thinks "the rivalry will be great. This is a great program. I played them a couple of times at Creighton, and they always gave us a tough game. They have a great fan base, a great coach over there, and they play really hard. I think it’ll be a great rivalry to come.” ___ Get poll alerts and updates on the AP Top 25 throughout the season. Sign up here . AP college basketball: https://apnews.com/hub/ap-top-25-college-basketball-poll and https://apnews.com/hub/college-basketballTwo days and a pair of time zones after handling the high-flying Minnesota Wild, the Winnipeg Jets will try to pick up where they left off tonight in Los Angeles. Facing a Kings team that’s in the middle of the NHL pack at 11-8-3, the league’s most surprising squad will try to improve on an 18-4 mark as they play the fourth game of a six-game road trip. “This is a team where you’ve got to be patient,” Jets defenceman Haydn Fleury said after the morning skate. “You can’t force anything. We’ve got to play a mature game tonight. Just manage the puck all around the ice. It’s not going to be perfect, but we’ve got to take what they give us. “Play to our strengths, work the puck down low and good things will happen.” This will be Fleury’s second game alongside Neal Pionk, a move forced by the injury to Dylan Samberg, who suffered a broken foot during a loss in Nashville on Saturday. The Jets rebounded with a 4-1 win over the Wild on Monday, a game in which they were roundly outplayed for the first 30 minutes but were kept in it by goalie Connor Hellebuyck. Defenceman Ville Heinola made his season debut in that one, on a third pairing with Colin Miller. Head coach Scott Arniel planned to go with the same pairings against the Kings. “There was lots of learning on the fly,” Arniel said. “But as the game went on they got stronger and started to work off each other.” The way the Jets took over in the final 30 minutes is how they would like to start tonight. “They’re a pretty responsible group,” Arniel said of the Kings. “They’ve got a hard-working forward group ... they really do a good job of boxing out and protecting the guts of the ice. That’ll be a grind for us. But at the same time we faced Minnesota the other night, the same kind of things. “You’ve got to create your offence by using your quickness, getting inside and looking for those second, third opportunities.” After a long flight from Minnesota and a day off on Tuesday, Arniel is looking for his team to shake off any jet lag or time-zone brain fog and get right back to work. “When you get to the game, that part can’t even be in your head.” One player who’s getting his chances but not scoring is forward Cole Perfetti After scoring four goals in his first 12 games, Perfetti has gone 10 games without. His coach isn’t worried about it and says the 22-year-old isn’t, either. “You still have to play the game the right way,” Arniel said, adding Perfetti is doing so. “If all you do is go out there thinking about goals, you’re going to have a long night. He learned a little bit of a lesson last year. He went through a stretch. That’s like everything about his career. He’s learning every year and every game. “He’s not as shook up right now about it as maybe he was in the past.” Perfetti went 23 games without a goal late last season, still finishing with a career-high 19 in 71 games before being scratched from the lineup for all but one playoff game. “His game isn’t just all centred around scoring goals,” Arniel said. “He’s had some Grade As. Sooner or later they’ll go in ... hopefully he gets a crazy bounce or an empty-netter to go in and that gets him feeling good and going again.” Still leading the league, the Jets will wrap up their road trip with games in Las Vegas on Friday and Dallas on Sunday afternoon. paul.friesen@kleinmedia.ca X: @friesensunmedia
OTTAWA — The union representing rank-and-file Mounties is welcoming a federal plan to spend $1.3 billion to bolster border security and ensure the integrity of the immigration system. In its fall economic update Monday, the Liberal government said it would invest in cutting-edge technology for law enforcement, so that only people who are eligible to remain in Canada do so. The money, to be spread over six fiscal years, is earmarked for the RCMP, Public Safety Canada, the Canada Border Services Agency and the cyberspies at the Communications Security Establishment. RCMP members enforce laws between official points of entry and investigate criminal activities related to the border. National Police Federation president Brian Sauvé says members have been protecting the border with limited resources, and the new money will allow them to continue delivering on their mandate. Public Safety Minister Dominic LeBlanc is expected to join other ministers this afternoon to provide more details on the plan. This report by The Canadian Press was first published Dec. 17, 2024. Jim Bronskill, The Canadian PressNational Grid Electricity Distribution (NGED) will inspect Newport homes and businesses this week. The visits are part of a safety inspection programme to check service termination points, also known as cut-outs, are working properly. These points are where the main incoming electricity service cable and fuse are located, usually near the electricity meter. The inspections will be visual only, with no disassembly or power supply interruptions. NGED plans to carry out 400,000 such inspections annually across South Wales, the Midlands, and the South West over the next 20 years. Richard Brady, NGED’s policy engineer heading the inspection programme, said: "The UK is recognised internationally as having one of the most resilient and safe energy systems and this inspection programme underlines our commitment to the highest safety standards. "Inspectors will visually examine cut-outs to check they are working as they should, taking photos and notes for our records. "In the unlikely event of a defective cut-out being found, NGED engineers will be sent to carry out repairs at no cost to the customer." The visits will also help confirm what types of low-carbon technologies, such as electric vehicle chargers and solar panels, are connected to the network. This information will aid future planning for load growth on the network. Mr Brady added: "These are important safety visits but we understand they could be inconvenient for customers and apologise in advance if this is the case." The inspectors, from a company called Calisen, will be clearly identifiable as working for NGED and will have ID and authorisation to enter properties.

Democratic New Hampshire Rep. Annie Kuster, who is retiring from Congress, claimed Trump “tried to kill” her on Jan. 6, 2021. Kuster — who has represented New Hampshire’s 2nd District since 2013 — told the Washington, D.C., outlet Roll Call on Monday that she had “always said I wasn’t going to stay forever” and that Trump “tried to kill me once.” “I was one of the last members of Congress in the gallery on Jan. 6, and as it turns out, we have the security footage that shows it was only 30 seconds from when I was able to evacuate that the insurrectionists were in that hallway hunting for us with zip ties and bear mace and who knows what else,” Kuster told Roll Call. “I just felt like, he tried to kill me once. I’m not available for it again.” (RELATED: FBI Had Over A Dozen Confidential Informants At Capitol On Jan. 6, IG Report Confirms) She accused Trump of attacking women, “undermining the social fabric” and appearing to favor tearing down protections for women against sexual assault , according to the outlet. “I’m not prepared to be the gladiator, if you will, again for him,” she said. 🚨NEW🚨 Retiring Democrat Congresswoman Annie Kuster told @rollcall that “[Trump] tried to k*ll me once. I’m not available for it again.” pic.twitter.com/vAmgqMhseP — Daily Caller (@DailyCaller) December 26, 2024 Kuster acknowledged that most voters in the 2024 elections wanted a different administration because of concerns such as inflation, the border crisis and rising crime and public safety problems . “And there’s a lot of reasons that people had for their vote, but I don’t believe the approach of the Trump administration is going to fix those issues for them. I mean, just take tariffs. If he puts those on, the price of food is going to go way up,” she told Roll Call. She also blamed the loss of the Democrats in the 2024 election on how many young voters felt that “for a pretty long time, the face of our party has been octogenarians.” “We somehow have missed the opportunity to connect with a whole generation of young people that we assumed, just by the laws of nature, would be more progressive and more close to our perspective,” she said. Kuster described herself as “literally exhausted” from being from a district she said she turned from red to purple. Longstanding members of congress who represent deep-blue districts did not appear to have elections as difficult as hers, she added. She predicted the Democrats would win in the midterms in 2026 and the presidential election in 2028 due to “the consequences of [Trump’s] policies.” “I’m going to stay involved, but not on the ballot,” she added, explaining that she would continue her work of pushing for the election of Democratic women to claw back to a majority.
