South Korea-based automotive component supplier Hyundai Mobis has introduced new battery cooling technology in a bid to prevent EV batteries from overheating during ultra-fast charging of vehicles. Known as a pulsating heat pipe (PHP), the new insulation material is made of aluminum alloy and coolant. Heat pipes are also used in devices like computer CPUs and smartphones, where the metal tube-shaped thermal conductors improve heat transfer efficiency and serve as high-heat-dissipation materials. While Inoue is paying only $1.05, the TAB has already taken two big bets of $10,000 on the fighter many regard as the greatest on the planet right now, while there have also been several more wagers of between $2,000 and $7,000 – many of which have been taken out as part of multis. All of which not only confirms the challenge Goodman faces, but has also kept the odds incredibly favourable for those Mad Bunch fans who have backed the Aussie with several different outlets, some of whom opened with him as wide as 14/1. Back in 2020, Jason faced off against Inoue for the IBF bantamweight world title, and while eventually stopped in the seventh, has done a strong job mimicking the Japanese star in training. Moloney, who is also fresh off a month of training in Japan, stayed for a week on the Coast sparring Goodman, while twin brother Andrew stayed a fortnight as he prepares for his own fight this Friday night in Melbourne. Given that both twins also competed for world titles in their most recent outings, their presence on the Coast has been a strong boost for the world title challenger, who has also flown in another sparring partner from the UK. “The Moloney boys are great work,” he said. “We’ve had a group of boys in this camp, real high level stuff, that’s put me in real good stead for this fight.” Asked about the sessions, Jason said: “Obviously Sam has a huge fight coming up and we wanted to help out any way we could. “He, Andrew and myself, we’ve all sparred together a few times, and over many years. “I think the first time Sam came up to our gym was before he turned pro. “And now for this camp, he initially came up to us in Kingscliff and then, when the offer was extended for us to also come down to the Coast for sparring, we were happy to do it because we want to help and, of course, get plenty of benefit from it too.” Both Moloney boys also have a knack for emulating other fighters, with Jason, in particular, having spent countless hours watching tape of Inoue. “And I have tried to bring a similar style sparring Sam,” he said. “I was also just in Japan for a month doing some work which included emulating (the champ’s younger brother) Takuma Inoue which also helps.” So as for how you mimic a fighter who may be the P4P King? “Obviously it’s hard to emulate Inoue’s explosiveness – the guy is exceptional,” Moloney said. “But it’s more about the way he tries to bring you onto certain shots, the punches he likes. “Inoue likes hitting the body, has a good right hand, good left hook. “But really, Sam knows what he has to do ... I’m just trying to help wherever I can.” After losing his WBO bantamweight title last start against Japan’s Yoshiki Takei, Moloney is now looking for a return to the ring in the first third of next year – and push back into another world title blockbuster. Adams — during his weekly Tuesday news conference — said that he “can understand” Torres’ concerns over the Nov. 18 triple stabbing, which was allegedly committed by Ramon Rivera, a homeless man with a history of mental illness who, according to the NYPD, was released from custody last month after being arrested on burglary and assault charge. Along with slamming the mayor, Torres also suggested Hochul was complicit in his missive. But on Nov. 26, Hizzoner insisted that he has been active and outspoken on the issue of treating those with severe mental illness — pointing to his efforts to clear homeless encampments and involuntarily hospitalize individuals deemed a threat to themselves and the public. “We can’t be revisionist,” Adams said. “I don’t think there has been an elected official in the city that has been more vociferous around people with severe mental health illness.” The mayor said he has reached out to Torres and will respond to the congressman’s letter with a breakdown of everything his administration has done to address the issue of untreated severe mental illness leading to violence. However, Adams also noted that the city needs the federal government to be “a partner” in addressing the issue. “The federal government, it has a role also,” Adams said. “Everyone has a role of this national crisis of people who are dealing with this issue of severe mental health illness.” In the letter, first reported by the New York Post , Torres blasted the city Department of Correction (DOC) for releasing Rivera from custody on “good behavior” nine months into his 12-month sentence on Rikers Island on robbery charges. Adams explained Tuesday that the good behavior determination was made after Rivera allegedly assaulted a correction officer at Bellevue Hospital when he was a detainee before he was sentenced — which the mayor claimed was not taken into account when the decision to release Rivera was made. However, the mayor insisted that it would not have mattered if Rivera had been held in custody because he still required long-term mental health treatment. “Even if he stood in jail longer, let’s say he’s sitting in jail for two years, that has nothing to do with [the fact that] he needed help,” the mayor said. “So if he would have got out 90 days later and stabbed three people, it’s just as bad. The system is broken.” Torres has stepped up his criticism of both Adams and Gov. Within 24 hours of writing this column, former representative Matt Gaetz withdrew his name as President Trump's nominee for Attorney General. That came as a surprise to many, but reports are saying that after multiple meetings with senators, it became clear that there was too much opposition to his nomination. What now? There are a few paths forward, including possibly being named by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis to fill Marco Rubio's senate seat. On the same day that Gaetz withdrew, President Trump continued the rapid action we've seen from the moment he became the president-elect. Within hours, he announced former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi as his new nominee for Attorney General. This was met with universal praise on social media by Trump's circle and supporters of the president. Bondi was a prosecutor in Florida for 20 years, and the state's AG for eight years, from 2011-2019. She also happened to be the first woman to hold that office. I've had the pleasure of speaking with and interviewing her a number of times and found her to be sharp, confident, and ready for anything. She's a brilliant attorney and will make an excellent attorney general. Closing out another unnecessary drama fed by the panic of the Democrats, Democrat senator Bob Casey finally conceded to Republican challenger Dave McCormick for the Pennsylvania Senate seat, ending an ongoing recount.
