haha777 online games The Bobby Sex Scandal remains one of the darkest political episodes in Bihar’s history. SSP Kunal relentlessly pursued the case, but it was effectively buried as CBI declared it a suicide even without visiting the crime scene On 29th December, Acharya Kishore Kunal, a former IPS officer of the 1972 batch, Chief of the Bihar State Board of Religious Trust, and founder Secretary of the Mahavir Mandir Trust in Patna, passed away. The 74-year-old Kunal suffered a cardiac arrest in the early hours of Sunday and was immediately taken to a hospital, where he passed away at around 8 AM. His son, Saayan Kunal, and daughter-in-law, Shambhavi Chaudhary, were present at the hospital at the time of his demise. Kunal’s body was later taken to his residence in Patna, where a large number of people gathered to pay their last respects. Former SSP Kishore Kunal’s life was marked by significant ups and downs. Among the cases that defined his career and haunted Bihar during his tenure was the infamous Bobby Sex Scandal. On 11th May 1983, two major newspapers in Bihar sent shockwaves across the state with a chilling revelation. Bobby, whose real name was Shwetnisha Trivedi, had died under suspicious circumstances. Bobby was the adopted daughter of a Congress leader and then Vice-Chairperson of the Bihar Legislative Council. Her body was secretly buried before any detailed investigation could be conducted. The news created a storm that shook every nook and corner of Bihar’s political landscape in the coming months. Then SSP of Patna, Kishore Kunal, initiated an investigation into her death days after the incident. What unfolded during the investigation was a web of sex, power, and crime that exposed the grim side of politics. Bobby’s real name was Shwetnisha Trivedi. She was the adopted daughter of Congress leader and then Vice-Chairperson of the Bihar Legislative Council, Rajeshwari Saroj Das. Bobby was known for her unparalleled beauty. Because of her charm, she was lovingly given the name “Bobby” by her admirers, inspired by Raj Kapoor’s film heroine. Due to her connection with Das, she secured a job as a telephone operator in the Legislative Assembly Secretariat. Despite her humble job, her charm captivated the elites of Bihar’s political arena. Several leaders were so flattered by her that they would hand over their entire travel allowances to her as gifts. On 8th May 1983, Bobby died, but the news of her death was suppressed for days. It was only after the news reports on 11th May 1983 that the people of Bihar became aware of the incident. According to her mother, she fell ill after consuming medicine, leading to hospitalisation, and she passed away during treatment. Her body was swiftly buried in a Christian cemetery, as Das was a Christian. Then SSP of Patna, Kishore Kunal, requested the post-mortem report for her death. Discrepancies in the post-mortem reports raised questions about the circumstances that led to her demise. This prompted the SSP to exhume the body twice for further investigation. One of the post-mortem reports suggested that she died from excessive bleeding. However, the second report indicated that she had died from a heart attack. Dissatisfied with these findings, SSP Kunal ordered the body to be exhumed a second time. This time, the forensic report shocked everyone: Bobby had died after consuming Malathion, a pesticide. The discovery turned the case into a full-blown murder investigation, and every politician close to Bobby became a suspect. As the investigation progressed, SSP Kunal discovered that Bobby had close ties with several influential leaders, including Congress politician and then Assembly Speaker’s son, Radha Nandan Jha. Testimonies from witnesses revealed that Jha had visited Bobby on the night of her death. Further investigations indicated that Bobby had been blackmailing some leaders with compromising photographs and letters. Such actions could have been the motive behind her murder. SSP Kunal conducted a sting operation to unearth the truth. He visited Das, Bobby’s adoptive mother, and hid a tape recorder under her chair. Pressed for details about Bobby’s death, Das broke down and confessed that Bobby’s health had deteriorated after taking medicine provided by Jha. She also revealed that a fraudulent doctor had treated Bobby, worsening her condition. The police now had enough evidence, and SSP Kunal sought to arrest Jha. However, then DIG Narendra Narayan Singh refused to permit the arrest. During that period, Chief Minister Jagannath Mishra had called SSP Kunal to take stock of the case. He was even threatened not to pursue the case as it would “burn his hands”. Immense pressure was placed on the state government as ample evidence against several leaders emerged. Around 44 MLAs and two ministers reportedly threatened Chief Minister Jagannath Mishra, stating that unless the case was transferred to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), they would topple the government. Left with no choice, CM Mishra transferred the case to the CBI on 25th May 1983. While it was expected that the CBI’s investigation would uncover the truth and punish the culprits, what followed was another mystery. Numerous irregularities plagued the CBI’s investigation. Reportedly, no officer from the agency visited Patna for on-ground inquiries. The CBI concluded that Bobby had committed suicide due to unrequited love. This flimsy conclusion enraged the public, but as the PIL system did not exist at the time, no legal recourse was available unless her family filed a review petition. SSP Kunal relentlessly pursued the case, but it was effectively buried. The dubious report submitted by the CBI claimed that Bobby had ingested a laxative named Sensetable after her love affair failed. Despite the absurdity of this claim—given that the laxative could not cause death—the court accepted the report and closed the case. There were political consequences, albeit limited. CM Mishra was removed from office three months after the case came to light. Another Congress leader, Chandra Shekhar Singh, succeeded him as Chief Minister. SSP Kunal faced repercussions as well and was transferred. Although political pressure to remove him was significant, his popularity among the public deterred politicians from taking harsher action. The Bobby Sex Scandal remains one of the darkest political episodes in Bihar’s history. It serves as a testament to how the murky nexus of power, crime, and corruption can suppress even the most high-profile cases, despite public outcry. Kishore Kunal’s memoir, Daman Takshakon Ke, sheds light on the political establishment’s obstacles that prevented Bobby from receiving the justice she deserved. Nearly 40 years later, Bobby’s death continues to evoke unanswered questions, her story a haunting symbol of the compromises made in the pursuit of power. Is it safe to eat turkey this Thanksgiving amid bird flu outbreak? What's New Ukraine has developed a cost-effective cruise missile called "Trembita," a version of which could eventually reach Moscow, it has been reported. The Economist said the weapon's ability to fly at low altitude could see it evade missile defenses. Newsweek has emailed the Russian and Ukrainian Defense Ministries for comment. Why It Matters Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky has announced that Kyiv is ramping up its domestically produced missiles to enhance Ukraine's strike capabilities. This is part of a broader strategy to achieve self-reliance in defense technologies, faced by limited access to certain Western-supplied long-range weapons. This will be important if President-elect Donald Trump curtails American military support for Kyiv when he enters the White House in January 2025 as Vladimir Putin has the momentum on the battlefield. Ukraine’s ‘Trembita,’ the “People’s missile,” is making headlines. Here’s what we know about it 👇 https://t.co/fFMb1sz69A pic.twitter.com/7VsXPVRFgc HOME MADE, LONG RANGE: Ukraine's indigenously produced Trembita UCAV uses a pulse jet engine (like a V-1 ‘Buzz Bomb’) and can be adapted for long range ground attack or as an air defense decoy. pic.twitter.com/fZo4s9sLom What To Know While Ukraine's government tightly guards its missile program, The Economist gave details about some of its specifications of the Trembita, which is named after a Ukrainian alpine horn. It is just one of half-a-dozen new missile and missile-drone crossovers that are flight-ready. Its engine is a $200 remake of the pulsejet first used on the German V-1 bomb in World War II, the outlet said. The engine tube was described as "rough-and-ready," and the missile can fly at 250 mph with a range of 125 miles. A "larger and more powerful model is being developed to reach Moscow," said The Economist . It added that there would be serial production after final testing of the missile, whose development took only a year and a half, instead of the many years a weapon might normally take. At a price tag of just $3,000 for the decoy version and $15,000 for a fully equipped model, it can run on regular gasoline and is much cheaper than most Western alternatives. United 24 Media was among Ukrainian outlets that reported the missile's warhead was 45 pounds. While visible to Russian air defenses, these could be overcome by a salvo of 20 missiles. What People Are Saying Mykhailo Fedorov, Ukraine's vice prime minister, told The Economist : "Everything that is given freedom in Ukraine flies," adding "2025 will be the year of the Ukrainian cruise missile." Missile developer Serhiy Biryukov said: "We might miss our target, but we'll fly the thing so low above Russian trenches they will s*** themselves." Economist journalist Oliver Carroll posted on X: "Cheap and cheerful, the Trembita uses tech from German V-1 bomb, and has an unmistakable roar." Chuck Pfarrer, military expert, posted on X: "Ukraine's indigenously produced Trembita UCAV uses a pulse jet engine (like a V-1 'Buzz Bomb') and can be adapted for long range ground attack or as an air defense decoy." What Happens Next The new missile is unlikely to make an immediate impact on the war, with an unnamed security official telling The Economist that it would be at least one year before the weapons could be produced in the quantities that threaten Russia. In the interim, the incoming Trump administration could push for a ceasefire, and any negotiations might see Russia demand Kyiv limit domestic missile production. However, Biryukov told the news outlet that any ceasefire would be "between governments" and insisted that "our rockets will keep flying."On 23rd December, India celebrates the National Farmer’s Day or the Rashtriya Kisan Diwas to commemorate the significant contribution of farmers, the backbone of Indian economy and rural prosperity. Rashtriya Kisan Divas is observed to mark the birth anniversary of Late Chaudhary Charan Singh, India’s fifth Prime Minister. The day is popular amongst India’s agricultural and farming states of Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh and others. In India, the day marks the contributions of Chaudhary Charan Singh to the agriculture sector and welfare of farmers. Almost 50% of the population of the country is dependent on agriculture. And that is why National Farmer’s Day was recognised by the 10th government of independent India in 2001. Contributions of Chaudhary Charan Singh An Indian politician and a freedom fighter, Chaudhary Charan Singh was born in Meerut. After completing his studies, Singh entered politics as part of the Indian Independence Movement under the leadership of Mahatma Gandhi. In the following years, he was jailed twice by the British government. Singh remained a Congress person for most of this time. But during the national emergency, imposed by Indira Gandhi between 1975 to 1977, Chaudhary Charan Singh became part of an emergency opposing political movement led by Morarji Desai. Under the name of ‘Janata Party’, the movement became the first, other than the Indian National Congress, to form a government in Uttar Pradesh. And Charan Singh became the first non-congress chief minister in Northern India. Desai’s political movement defeated the Congress in 1977 general elections to elect Morarji Desai as the Prime Minister of the post emergency India. By 1979, the Janata Party started splitting because of loyalty of some of its members towards the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), a Hindu nationalist organisation. During this time, Murari Desai resigned, and Singh was appointed the Prime Minister. His government was supported by Indira Gandhi’s Congress party, the same leader against whom Singh signed an arrest order as the union home minister. But this sport came with a cost. Indira Gandhi had conditions for supporting Singh. And the conditions were to drop all charges against her and son Sanjay Gandhi. Charan Singh decided to not agree to the conditions, and had to resign just after 23 days of Prime Ministership. This made him the only Prime Minister of the country to never face a Parliament session. Charan Singh continued as the caretaker Prime Minister until January 1980. In 1979, Singh founded the Lok Dal in 1979. He led Lok Dal until his death in 1987. His last remains rest at Kisan Ghat in Delhi. Champion of Farmers Chaudhary Charan Singh left behind a rich legacy of agricultural landscape in India. With his instrumental role in piloting pro-formal legislations, like the Uttar Pradesh Zamindari Abolition and Land Reform Act of 1950, he became the chief architect of land reforms in Uttar Pradesh. His formulation of the Debt Redemption Bill in 1939 eased the burden of debt on the agricultural community of India. As the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, Charan Singh enacted the Land Holding Act of 1960 that aimed at lowering the ceiling on land holdings. This called for a uniform land sharing system across the state, promoting fair distribution and addressing disparities in land ownership. Because of his contributions to the agricultural society, Chaudhary Charan Singh was posthumously honoured with the Bharat Ratna in 2024. On This Day On 24th December, the Rashtriya Kisan Diwas is observed to recognise the sacrifice and efforts of the farming community of India. The day is used to campaign for digital literacy, economic independence and technological knowledge sharing in the field of agriculture.New shoplifting data explains why they’re locking up the toothpaste

President Jimmy Carter may have only had one term in the White House , but he remained a familiar figure on the world stage long after clearing his desk at the Oval Office. Despite a resounding defeat at the hands of Ronald Reagan in 1980, the Democrat forged a new path promoting causes such as electoral probity abroad, social justice and drives to rid the world of medical conditions. His first foreign visit as president was to the UK where then prime minister James Callaghan, as well as the usual visits in London , took his guest to the North East with a visit to Newcastle, Sunderland and Washington – the village bearing the name of the first ever president. Mr Carter delighted crowds in the North East by saying “Howay the lads” during a speech to the assembled throng. He also received a miner’s lamp from 12-year-old Ian McEree in Washington. The 39th US president also carried out more traditional presidential duties, including meetings with western European leaders during his time in London while the Cold War was still ongoing. The practising Baptist continued his globetrotting ways after leaving power, even without Air Force One as his vehicle. He was also part of the Elders, a group of experienced statesmen and women drawn from all corners of the world.Only a few thousand governmental records related to the assassination have yet to be fully released.Market Alert! Promising review: "It's pretty advanced, which I like. With all the different scenes, it makes it harder and more fun! And it's waaay bigger than I expected (I didn't check the measurements). Overall, perfect for a Friends fan!" — Amina Don't forget to also get them some food coloring so they can really bring their creations to life. Promising review: "I was highly impressed when it came in. It's well made and sturdy, can be used to cook other things (as it is a griddle), and the templates made it super easy. We had a blast making them. All you need is batter and food coloring." — jessee Promising review: "I love him. He is so cute and so well-made. He is the perfect size and shape. I named him Banana Peel Son since his wool comes off like a banana peel. Adorable. Would recommend to everyone." — Aerebys Stare Promising review: "Sound quality and durability is very good! I like the ability to change the artwork on the cover, the ability to change the brightness of the image, the ability to change the volume of the startup/connect/disconnect, the auto-shutoff and auto-sleep mode toggles, and the ability to set multiple alarms (available on the app only, sadly, not out of the box). There's surprisingly a lot you can do with such a seemingly simple device, and it's made more than a great replacement alarm clock for me, which is initially what I bought it for. Highly recommend if you've got the extra coin to spend on something cute, fun, and practical!" — Soul Breaker Promising review: "I love it! They work great and are so cheerful! I don’t really care if they stop working in a month. They’ll bring me endless delight until then!" — Gertrude Cooper Promising review: "I’m using the sifter for metal detecting in waist-deep water. It’s really rugged. If you’ve seen one of those thick plastic kayaks, this thing is just like one of those. It can take a beating. The size is perfect. I can dump 2–3 shovels full of sand in it, and it still stays afloat. A few shakes to sift out the sand, and there’s your target. Comes with a leash so it won’t float away." — SEEK and DETECT This is cruelty- and paraben-free and vegan! Plus, it comes in recyclable packaging. Alleyoop is woman-owned and sells a wonderful assortment of beauty products. Promising review: "I love the ease of this product. I love them!" — Teresa Fernandez Promising review : "For Trader Joe's lovers everywhere, this is a fantastic cookbook! It is filled with hints and tips, shopping guidelines, nicely organized recipe categories, and beautiful mouthwatering pictures. I love how the recipes note if they are gluten-free or vegetarian, etc. I ❤ Trader Joe's and I ❤ this cookbook!" — Love My Bookish Life Promising review: "The surface is large, but it can be rolled up and stored away in two minutes! The holes are slightly elevated (to create the holes) but negligible; unlike the one I had a long time ago that returned the ball. I like the shape of the mat (looks way more natural than a rectangular long strip) and the surface is soft and comfortable, yet it feels durable. I have no doubt I can make things more challenging by elevating certain areas underneath if I so desired. The 'sand trap' is also an excellent inclusion as it stops the golf balls from escaping the mat and keeping me from chasing down golf balls. Hopefully it can interest my kids to get off the electronics for a few minutes now and then, and if so, it will deserve an extra star. — Oniomaniac Promising review: "My 10-year-old daughter requested this because she was interested in finding out more about Japan. We had a one-hour tasting party on the living room floor and we compared the snacks to each other and to American snacks. We loved some, and we hated some. She took some duplicates to school and shared them with her friends. You can tell a lot about the culture by common flavors, textures, packaging, serving sizes, and a lot of other things that we saw in this box." — Amazon Customer Promising review: "We love this author and are big fans of her pet-focused work with BuzzFeed, so we had to check out this book! It’s so fun and very well written! If you’re into astrology, this is an awesome read!!" — Amber Promising review: "We’ve only opened the first rock but I’m already impressed. Normally these end up being duds but this one was really spectacular and large! My son is 4 and he’s excited to open the rest for his collection." — Heremeow Promising review: "This was a fun plant. My kids enjoyed watching the leaves pull up and then spread back out. I even mailed one to a family member so they could try it out. I would buy this again!" — Nene582 Promising review: "So cute and I love that it turns on when it senses it is dark. Would also make a cute gift! Could be brighter, but it is perfect for what I was looking for and adds fun to my home." — Julie Promising review: "The perfect night-light for my son’s Star Wars room! He loves it and uses it at bedtime every night. It’s not too bright but also not too dull. Very cool night light to have for any Star Wars or Darth Vader fans!" — Robert Marshall This is top-rack dishwasher-safe! Promising review: "This is one of my favorite kitchen gizmos and it doesn't take up room in the drawer! I eat lots of olives and this keeps me from having to wash or get a clean fork when I'm in the middle of making a salad or just want a snack, and it makes spearing the olives easier too. It comes with two sizes to fit any jar (even though if you need this I feel like you probably get the big jars right?). They are stretchy and easy to get on and off. I usually just rinse it between uses and then wash the whole set up when I open a new jar (which is about weekly)." — Emily Sun Sprinkles Shop is a small business based in Saint Johns, Michigan that sells vases, earrings, stickers, and more! I used Pam spray, English muffins, ham, cheese, and an egg. I heated it up a little past the recommended time, set a timer for five minutes, used tongs to lift up the compartments, and whaddya know! A perfect, cute little sandwich! I pulled it out with a plastic spatula and set it on a tiny cookie rack to cool so the bottom wouldn't get soggy. Nothing leaked, nothing stuck. Very compact and tidy. Let the contraption cool, then rinse and wipe." — Amazoniac Promising review: "This assembled in a jiffy and looks great in my window. So glad I chose it for the future home of my herb garden. The pots are a good size, and the cord looks sturdy and generously sized (you can just wrap around the bar a few times to shorten it). Note that there are no holes in the pots if you're looking for drainage. But of course, that's why baby Jesus made power tools." — Cautionary Tales Promising review : "This planter brings me so much joy every day! It is well-crafted and beautifully packaged. I appreciate the extra touches, like the fact it comes with a few extra mirrored tiles and that there are different ways to display it — it comes with a stand and nicely braided hanging rope. Every day, my whole living room becomes a party :) Cannot recommend enough." — Phil According to Johns Hopkins , you may want to avoid diffusing oils around larger groups and young children because of the side effects of different oils. You may also want to avoid using an oil diffuser around pets with breathing problems, according to the ASPCA . Promising review: "I love this thing. I have anxiety and insomnia, and I need background noise to function/sleep. This little desktop fountain is SO SOOTHING, both aesthetically and the sound of the little raindrops. If I’m in the room with it, it’s probably on. If you love the sound of rain this is for you . Because I’m paranoid and I want this to last, I run it with plain distilled water and I have not used essential oils with it even though they say it’s fine. It’s very dry here right now, and I still only have to top up the water every few days even with it running daily . It’s a solid 12/10 from me." — Violet Promising review: "Bought this for an activity for my daughter's 10th birthday!! OMG!!! You would have thought (enter your favorite celebrity here) showed up!! The kids loved it! It was easy to do for the kids...but make sure YOU COVER EVERYTHING YOU DON'T WANT TIE-DYED!! Great product!!" — Dani Josh lane Promising review: "I give 1 star...hardcover is too hard. Just kidding! I give this 5 stars. Without a doubt, this is my favorite coffee table book and surprisingly also super educational. Perfect combination of sassy and informative while poking fun at 1-star reviews of some amazing national parks. I love, love all the added educational snippets along with the review illustrations. And Amber’s writing style is so personal and relatable I feel like we could be friends. Such a fun book, so worth the buy!" — Anna Algis Crafts is a family-owned small business that sells handmade embossed rolling pins, personalized cutting boards, and more! Promising review: "I actually purchased these rolling pins for making designs in clay/pottery so that is what I am using them for. They make beautiful designs in the clay!" — Amazon Customer Promising review: "My best friend is always telling me new facts about the most random things so when I saw this, I knew it had to be added to his bookshelf. And let me tell you the list of random facts keeps on coming. Yeah, yeah, I know...the internet...but sometimes it’s nice to disconnect from technology and read a real book. Couldn’t be happier with this purchase." — Gregory Promising review: "I bought this as a gift. It’s small enough to not get in the way and clamps down securely on the desk. It gives a satisfying spring/bounce when you punch it, but it is stiff enough that it’s not flying around and hitting everything else on the desk. For what it is, I’m happy with it." — Jen Promising review: "Just got this puzzle for something to do at home over the holidays. Seriously...I have never seen a puzzle quite like this! It’s very impressive and exceeded my expectations already. The packaging is beautiful inside and out. Everything about it shouts quality. I particularly liked the envelopes inside for the puzzle pieces and mystery. Heavyweight and substantial. The one holding the 1,000 puzzle pieces stays closed with Velcro! How cool! And the secret mystery envelope has a cool string loop tie. Makes you remember you can’t open it until the puzzle is done. The whole vibe of The Mystic Maze is quality and fun and it also looks like a challenging puzzle. Looking forward to getting started on this. Certainly a good stay-home fun activity. Highly recommend!" — Kyle Fletcher KC Cups is a woman-owned small business based in Kansas that sells personalized engraved tumblers. This gift is approved by BuzzFeed editor Elizabeth Lilly : "I got these cuties for two of my friends who bought houses in late 2020 with their cities personalized on them. Basically no one is as obsessed with Housewives as I am, but lots of our group chats entail rehashing the latest eps (except RHOC bc, let's face it, it's awful). So when my colleague Heather Braga put this tumbler in her gifts for Bravo fans , I couldn't wait to order them. They've both received them and LOVE them. One friend cried! But a good cry.
