The Cincinnati Bearcats men's basketball team has gotten off to a fast start this season in more ways than one. The No. 16 Bearcats have raced to a 5-0 record while outscoring their opponents by more than 31 points per game, with just one team (Northern Kentucky) coming within 16 points. Cincinnati is averaging a robust 87 points per game with one of the more efficient offenses in college basketball. Cincinnati will look to continue that hot streak when it plays host to Alabama State in nonconference action Wednesday evening. Cincinnati has punished opposing defenses in a variety of ways this season. Despite being the No. 14 offense in the nation in Ken Pomeroy's efficiency ratings, the Bearcats aren't among the nation's leaders in pace. Still, they take advantage of those opportunities when they are there. "Us playing fast is something we want to do," Cincinnati forward Dillon Mitchell said. "When I was being recruited here, that was something Coach (Wes) Miller wanted to do. "There could be games where we're not making shots or something is off, but one thing is we're gonna push the ball, play hard and play fast. That's something he preaches. We'll be in shape and get rebounds." Mitchell is fresh off a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds in Cincinnati's 81-58 road win at Georgia Tech Saturday. He is one of four Bearcats to average double figures in scoring this season. That balance was on display once again against the Yellow Jackets, with Connor Hickman and Jizzle James also scoring 14 points each and Simas Lukosius contributing 12 points. In that game, Cincinnati sank 51.6 percent of its shots while regularly getting out into transition with 16 fastbreak points, while winning the rebounding battle 36-29. "Any time you get a road win over a quality, Power 4 team, you're gonna feel good about it," Miller said. "I was pleased with our effort." Lukosius is scoring 16.6 points per game, while James is at 14.0 points, followed by Mitchell at 12.4, while he also grabs a team-best 8.6 rebounds. Alabama State (3-3) has a tough task ahead, especially when considering its 97-78 loss at Akron Sunday, which ended a three-game winning streak. The Hornets allowed the Zips to shoot 46.4 percent from the field and were 53-32 in the rebounding battle. Alabama State gave up a season high in points, after playing the likes of LSU and UNLV earlier this season. Akron standout Nate Johnson lit up Alabama State for 25 points, as the game got away from the Hornets in the second half to keep them winless in true road games. Alabama leading scorers CJ Hines and TJ Madlock still got theirs against Akron, scoring 19 and 17 points, respectively. They were joined in double figures by reserve Tyler Mack (18 points), but recent history says they'll need more help to keep up with the Bearcats. Hines leads the Hornets with 15.7 points per game, while Madlock contributes 14.5 points. In previous Akron Basketball Classic wins last week against Omaha and Lamar, Alabama State featured at least four double-digit scorers in each game. --Field Level MediaVictor Wembanyama plays 1-on-1 chess with fans in New YorkIn a rapidly evolving digital age, one name is emerging as a beacon of hope within Nigeria’s tech landscape—Obie Okoye. Amid rumors that Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo were paid different salaries for their work co-starring in Wicked , the reports have been debunked by the film’s production company, Universal Pictures. See latest videos, charts and news See latest videos, charts and news “Reports of pay disparity between Cynthia and Ariana are completely false and based on internet fodder. The women received equal pay for their work on Wicked ,” a spokesperson for Universal told The Hollywood Reporter in a statement on Tuesday (Nov. 26). Viral posts about Erivo and Grande’s salary began surfacing on TikTok and Reddit this month, as social media users claimed that Grande made $15 million for her role as Glinda while Erivo earned $1 million as Elphaba. Directed by Jon M. Chu, Wicked has grossed $164.2 million globally during its opening weekend starting on Nov. 22. The live-action adaptation of the beloved Broadway musical earned the third-biggest opening of the year, behind Deadpool & Wolverine and Inside Out 2 , the Associated Press reports . The second half of the musical will be released with part two in 2025. Wicked takes place in the Land of Oz, before Dorothy Gale’s arrival from Kansas. The story follows the green-skinned, misunderstood Elphaba, who becomes friends with the popular Glinda at Shiz University. The duo’s friendship comes reaches a turning point following an encounter with the Wonderful Wizard of Oz. The rest of the principal Wicked cast features Academy Award winner Michelle Yeoh as Madame Morrible, Olivier winner Jonathan Bailey as Fiyero, Tony nominee Ethan Slater as Boq, Emmy nominee Bowen Yang as Pfannee and Jeff Goldblum as the Wizard of Oz.Oscar-winner Cillian Murphy is reprising his role as Birmingham gangster Tommy Shelby for the film, which is set following the events of the original BBC drama which ran for six series from 2013 to 2022. Following the film wrapping production, Knight has revealed that it will be around a year before the project is released. Speaking to Times Radio about a future release date, Knight said: “It’s a bit too soon for that, but you know, you can sort of work out that it will be about a year.” Asked if there are any more plans for Peaky Blinders beyond the film, he replied: “It’s interesting you should ask that question because the film is coming out and that won’t be the end.” The screenwriter was questioned if that meant fans could expect more series in the future, but he refused to provide more details. The film is believed to be titled The Immortal Man and has been teased to involve new conflicts for the Shelby family set during the Second World War. THAT'S A WRAP. Earlier this month a photo was shared by Netflix of the pair looking jubilant while wearing flat caps and suits as the streamer confirmed filming had wrapped on the project. Other returning cast members include British actors Stephen Graham as union organiser Hayden Stagg and Sophie Rundle as Ada Shelby, while Dune actress Rebecca Ferguson and Pulp Fiction actor Tim Roth have also joined the project. Tom Harper, who previously directed episodes in the first season in 2013, will return to helm the film. Knight previously told Netflix’s Tudum site: “It will be an explosive chapter in the Peaky Blinders story. No holds barred. Full-on Peaky Blinders at war.” When the series came to an end in 2022 after nine years, Tommy appeared to put his criminal past behind him. Across the six series, the show tackled the rise of fascism, Irish republican politics and communist activities throughout the period after the First World War – along with Tommy’s ambitions in politics. Knight later created a stage adaptation of the show for a limited-run production, titled The Redemption Of Thomas Shelby, which featured performances from Rambert’s dancers and a soundtrack from a live on-stage band.

FIREWORKS exploded right over David Raya in shocking scenes during Arsenal's Champions League clash at Sporting. The Gunners blitzed into an early 2-0 lead thanks to goals from Gabriel Martinelli and Kai Havertz. David Raya had not been threatened by Viktor Gyokeres or any of the Sporting players. But on 25 minutes, various fireworks, flares and smoke bombs were set off over the Arsenal penalty area. The pyrotechnics were not shown by the TNT Sport cameras but commentator Darren Fletcher referenced them. And he was surprised the referee did not stop play and take the two teams off the field. Videos quickly circulated on social media of the fireworks. The clips showed the explosives being launched out from the stand behind Raya and flashing into bursts of light. Another revealed the magnitude of the green and white smoke wafting across the pitch. Within minutes, clouds covered the pitch in Lisbon. FOOTBALL FREE BETS AND SIGN UP DEALS One supporter said: "Fireworks and flares set off aimed at Raya and the back four. That's gotta be a ban surely." However, jubilant Arsenal fans inside the ground chanted: "We want more fireworks," as they watched their side put on a spectacular performance. SunSport has contacted Uefa for comment but it is likely the Portuguese club could land in hot water with the authorities over the safety breach. Martinelli turned home with just seven minutes on the clock. And Havertz doubled the visitors' lead on 22 minutes, tapping in after fine work from Thomas Partey and Bukayo Saka. Then Gabriel made it 3-0 with the final touch of the first half, thumping in yet another header from a dangerous inswinging Declan Rice corner. However, Sporting pulled one back immediately after the break through Goncalo Inacio.
