COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State athletic director Ross Bjork said Thursday that he is "absolutely" confident that Ryan Day will be back as football coach in 2025. Calls to fire the sixth-year coach rose among Ohio State fans after the Buckeyes lost to Michigan for the fourth straight year. Bjork, in an interview on 97.1 The Fan, said Day is the man for the job, regardless of how the Buckeyes perform in the College Football Playoff. They host Tennessee in a first-round game Dec. 21. "Coach Day is awesome," said Bjork, who came from Texas A&M to replace the retiring Gene Smith last summer. "He's great to work with. He totally gets it. He loves being a Buckeye. So, we're going to support him at the highest level." The 13-10 loss to Michigan followed by an ugly melee between the teams put the coach in a precarious spot. He and his team were booed off the field by the home fans. Bjork ended up releasing a statement expressing his support for the coach. "The reason we had to say something after (the Michigan) game is, we're still breathing, we're still alive," Bjork said. "The season's not over. The book is not closed." Thanks to the playoff, Day has a chance to redeem himself with Ohio State's huge fanbase with a win against the Volunteers — and perhaps more in the 12-team tournament. Regardless of what happens, Day will be back next year, according to Bjork. "Coach Day and I just hit it off so well," Bjork said. "I've been really, really impressed. Every single time I talked to him, I learn something. He's innovative. He recruits at the highest level. He's got a great staff." Day wouldn't directly address his job status last weekend. "When you first come off those types of things, there's a lot of emotion," he said, referring to the Michigan loss. "And then as time goes on, you've got to get refocused because you know what you've done in the past does not affect what's going on moving forward. Everything is out in front of us." Failing to consistently beat Michigan is one of the few flaws in Day's coaching record. Hired as a member of coach Urban Meyer's staff in 2017, Day was the hand-picked successor when Meyer retired after the 2018 season. Compiling an overall 66-10 record, he is widely admired in the coaching community. "Great respect for what he's done in his coaching career, what he's done there at Ohio State and the success that they've had year-in and year-out," Tennessee coach Josh Heupel said. Day is in trouble now because losing The Game is considered an unforgiveable sin by Buckeyes fans. "What we have to do is this whole 'championship or bust' mentality, you want that as the goal, but it has to be about the process," Bjork said. "To me, we've got to maybe change some conversations a little bit. I think we need to maybe just approach things a little bit differently." From hot and humid jungles to fetid swamps inhabited by enormous snakes, the region of Sukhothai will prove to be a challenge in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle . Of course, fully exploring this land should be a very rewarding endeavor, since you can find some secret goodies. Here's our guide on where to find all Sukhothai Relics in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. Where to find all Sukhothai Relics in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle - Riddles of the Ancients guide There are 24 Sukhothai Relics in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, the most out of all regions in the game. As such, you've got your work cut out for you. Don't worry, though, because our guide has all the details you need. We've also organized this article to be more in line with general progression. Note: You will need the Rebreather to access some of these areas. The tool can be purchased from Tongdang. Also, while you're roaming around, we suggest grabbing other collectibles, such as the Lost Artifacts of Asia . The Sukhothai Relics booklet shows you the locations of these collectibles on your map. If you want to bring something handy on your journey, you need to complete a certain brain teaser in the northern part of the zone. You can learn more about this in our Elephant in the Room guide . Of course, we also have a map that has the locations of all Sukhothai Relics in the game. We've organized these into the following activities: Those numbered from 1 to 18 are acquired while free-roaming or while tackling quests. We've also grouped some of these if they're from a specific dungeon/underground temple. The remaining six relics have green icons, since they're obtained as part of an entirely different activity. We discuss this in our Khmer Cogwheel Puzzles guide . The first Indiana Jones and the Great Circle Sukhothai Relic that you'll likely find is in the northwestern part of the map. It's part of the Blessed Pearl main quest. Once the Hidden Pyramid has been revealed, ride your boat across the lake and bring it to the ruined tower to the right. Climb it and pick up this item. The next Sukhothai Relic is at the submerged entrance of the Hidden Pyramid. Here's a quick summary: While doing this quest, Indy has to swim underwater, passing through openings just to avoid a gigantic anaconda. Eventually, you should be able to surface at the outer section of the structure. The item is at the other end of the dark corridor. Alternatively, and assuming you have the Sukhothai Relics booklet, bring it out to make the icon appear on your screen. Then, at the middle part of the pyramid's base, swim underwater to find an opening. Once you're inside the pyramid proper, you'll find yourself in a cavernous area with a deep pool of water. The anaconda is also swimming around these parts. To your right, there are stone ledges that allow you to reach this relic. Well after defeating the anaconda, you have to climb all the way to the top of the pyramid's interior. There's a junction here where you can either go left or right. Choose to go to the right and you'll spot vines on the cliff's edge. Jump across the chasm and grab hold of the vine so you can continue climbing. This Indiana Jones and the Great Circle Sukhothai Relic can be yours when you're tackling the Lost in the Past quest. It requires you to complete the first portion of The Blessed Pearl (i.e. escaping the Hidden Pyramid). When you're done with that, you can talk to Sunan to learn about the Wat Sa Si ruins to the west. Enter the ruins until you see a prayer wheel in the middle of the chamber. Look to your right and go through the crawlspace to get this item. At the northern part of the region, there's an abandoned shed. You can reach it by swinging across the gap with your whip. This particular Sukhothai Relic in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle has a mini-puzzle of sorts: Follow the winding river as it curves east from the Hidden Pyramid entrance. When you see the waterfall, go through the narrow opening. The wall puzzle here requires you to place several relics that you've found in Sukhothai and other regions, with the goal of raising all nodes/indentations. You can rotate the relic to the right to raise all nodes in horizontal and vertical lines. Alternatively, you can rotate the relic to the left to raise all adjacent nodes. This Sukhothai Relic is actually a reward for opening the Serpent's Chest . The reason why we have a separate guide for it is because you actually have to look for keys from previously visited areas. Make your way to the Secret Armory fast travel point. Then, check the table in the base. We suggest obtaining the Royal Army Uniform so you don't alert the guards. The next items that we discuss in our Indiana Jones and the Great Circle Sukhothai Relics guide come from the Wat Si Sawai underground dungeon. You'll find this relic once you've gotten past the chambers with the spinning clock gears. Once Indy and Gina open the stone doorway, go straight ahead to the dead end and pick up this item. This relic can be yours once you've arrived at the Khmer Pipeworks puzzle chamber. Check the right-hand side so you can pick up a two-handed melee weapons next to the basket with torches. Go down the steps and smash the weakened wall to grab this object. This collectible is in front of the Shiva statue in the last room of this dungeon. You need to rescue Sunan's nephew, Aran, to gain access to this area. These Sukhothai Relics in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle are located in the underground ruins at the Explosion Site. You can only go to this area during or after a quest called A Study in Fear. This particular quest becomes available once you've escaped from the Hidden Pyramid. Just talk to Pailin so you can tackle the objectives. Found in the first room with giant gears. Go to the top of the ledge and hop across the cogwheel. Proceed normally until you reach the part where Indy and Annika escape from the ceiling spike trap. In the next area, climb up the ledge and check the room at the back. Eventually, you'll arrive at the Demon's Tomb puzzle chamber, which happens to have a Lost Artifact of Asia . Go to the back of this room and look for a way to reach the far ledge. After escaping the Hidden Pyramid, you should be able to tackle the next part of the Blessed Pearl main quest, which takes you to Wat Mahathat. The map above shows the locations of the three more Sukhothai Relics in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. The main puzzle in this dungeon is called the Great Game, which requires you to position villagers to make the large plinths rotate. Once the doorway has been opened, look below you to see a body of water. Jump and swim underwater to pick up this reward. Immediately after getting Sukhothai Relic #16, make your way to the next chamber. As you're going down the steps, swing across the gap to your right to spot this collectible. The last Sukhothai Relic in Wat Mahathat is in the underground pond with leeches that you need to avoid. Simply cross the gap by using your whip. Once you're on the middle platform, hop across the rock formations to acquire this item. That does it for our guide on where to find all Sukhothai Relics in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. Don't forget to complete the Khmer Cogwheel Puzzles so you can obtain all these goodies. Speaking of which, be sure to check our collectible guides for the Vatican and Gizeh , too. Doing so leads you to the game's secret ending . You're bound to encounter many secrets, puzzles, and challenges in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. As you continue your adventure, we encourage you to take a look at our Indiana Jones and the Great Circle guides hub . Upvote Leave BlankBurt, the huge crocodile that rose to fame with a cameo in the movie “Crocodile Dundee” and continued to impress visitors with his fiery temper and commanding presence, has died. Burt died over the weekend, the Crocosaurus Cove reptile aquarium in Darwin, Australia , said. He was at least 90 years old. “Known for his independent nature, Burt was a confirmed bachelor — an attitude he made clear during his earlier years at a crocodile farm,” Crocosaurus Cove wrote in social media posts. “He wasn’t just a crocodile, he was a force of nature and a reminder of the power and majesty of these incredible creatures. While his personality could be challenging, it was also what made him so memorable and beloved by those who worked with him and the thousands who visited him over the years,” the aquarium wrote. A saltwater crocodile , Burt was estimated to be more than 5 meters (16 feet) long. He was captured in the 1980s in the Reynolds River and became one of the most well-known crocodiles in the world, according to Crocosaurus Cove. The 1986 movie stars Paul Hogan as the rugged crocodile hunter Mick Dundee. In the movie, American Sue Charlton, played by actress Linda Kozlowski, goes to fill her canteen in a watering hole when she is attacked by a crocodile before being saved by Dundee. Burt is briefly shown lunging out of the water. But the creature shown in more detail as Dundee saves the day is apparently something else. The Internet Movie Database says the movie goofed by depicting an American alligator, which has a blunter snout. The Australian aquarium where Burt had lived since 2008 features a “Cage of Death” which it says is the nation's only crocodile dive. It said it planned to honor Burt's legacy with a commemorative sign “celebrating his extraordinary life and the stories and interactions he shared throughout his time at the park.”Best Holiday Gifts for Everyone on Your List

House Republicans will select new leaders for several powerful committees this week, with the chairmen inheriting both a gavel and the task of advancing President-elect Donald Trump 's agenda through a united GOP Congress . With the new members' swearing-in on Jan. 3, 2025, and Trump's inauguration on Jan. 20, 2025, the newly selected House committee leaders will have the power to deliver on the president-elect's top priorities, including a tax bill, government spending , and border security, among other policies. The new chairmen will be selected by the House GOP Steering Committee, a panel of over 30 Republican leaders and regional representatives that recommend the committee chairs for approval from the full Republican conference. The Steering Committee is meeting Monday to make their selections, with some of the most influential committees attracting multiple challengers. Unless they receive a waiver, Republican committee leaders can not serve more than three consecutive terms as the head of the committee. Many current GOP committee leaders, such as Rep. Michael McCaul (R-TX), did not seek a waiver to remain chairman, while others, such as Rep. Sam Graves (R-MO), were approved to stay as the top GOP lawmaker on the committee. Several committees also have leaders who decided ahead of the 2024 election that they would retire or seek another office off Capitol Hill, leaving many vacancies . The Washington Examiner will update this story as the Steering Committee announces its selections. MEET THE NEW CONGRESS: THE HOUSE AND SENATE FRESHMEN ELECTED TO SERVE NEXT YEAR Foreign Affairs Committee - Brian Mast Rep. Brian Mast (R-FL) defeated Reps. Darrell Issa (R-CA), Ann Wagner (R-MO), and Joe Wilson (R-SC) in a four-way contest to replace McCaul on Monday. With Mast's selection, House Republicans are on track to have zero chairwomen on any committee. The House Foreign Affairs Committee, which led the high-profile investigation of the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan, had a vacant chairmanship because McCaul is terming out and did not seek a waiver to remain chairman. Mast, a Purple Heart recipient and U.S. Army veteran, became a staple in the GOP conference after he wore his Israeli military uniform to the Capitol to show solidarity for the Jewish state following the 2023 Hamas attacks. Sources told Punchbowl News he gave a great presentation to the Steering Committee to make his case that he should lead the committee next Congress. Wagner, the vice chairwoman of the committee, touted her foreign policy experience as U.S. ambassador to Luxembourg during former President George W. Bush’s administration and co-chairwoman of the Abraham Accords Caucus as a reason for seeking the gavel. As chairwoman, she had vowed to crack down on Russia, Iran, and China and touted a key GOP talking point about securing the border. Issa, however, also campaigned on his foreign affairs experience, having visited over 100 countries, and his prior experience as chairman of the House Oversight Committee. Similar to Issa, Wilson pitched himself as the senior lawmaker equipped to lead the committee after leading 70 congressional delegation trips to over 80 countries. The Hill reported that Wilson was giving members of the Steering Committee pieces from the Berlin Wall that he brought back from Germany in 1990. DEMOCRATS SEARCH FOR ANSWERS AS BARACK OBAMA’S INFLUENCE WANES Energy and Commerce Committee - Brett Guthrie The Steering Committee selected Rep. Brett Guthrie (R-KY) as the next House Energy and Commerce Committee on Tuesday. Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA), a powerhouse who led the influential Energy and Commerce Committee, did not seek reelection in 2024, setting off a competitive race between Guthrie and Rep. Bob Latta (R-OH). The Energy and Commerce Committee will be a key panel moving into the Trump administration, holding jurisdiction over healthcare, the Food and Drug Administration, and the Energy Department — all areas that have been targeted by Trump and Republicans over the last two years due to Biden administration-era rules and regulations on everything from electric vehicles and appliances to the aftermath of COVID-19. Despite Guthrie's selection, Latta will still be the most senior GOP lawmaker on the Energy and Commerce Committee, holding experience on all six subcommittees and having 33 bills signed into law. Guthrie has sat on five of the six subcommittees and is currently chairman of the health subcommittee. The newly-selected chairman said his top priorities are permitting reform and the United States beating China to developing 6G, the latest wireless communication network expected to arrive in the 2030s. Financial Services Committee - French Hill Rep. French Hill (R-AR) will be the new Financial Services Committee chairman once approved by the full GOP conference. Hill will replace current Chairman Patrick McHenry (R-NC), who had a brief stint as speaker pro tempore after Kevin McCarthy's ouster and is retiring after this term. The chair-elect beat out Reps. Andy Barr (R-KY), Frank Lucas (R-OK), and Bill Huizenga (R-MI) for the gavel to succeed McHenry as the top GOP lawmaker on the Financial Services Committee, a panel that holds hearings regarding the Federal Reserve, cryptocurrency, and Wall Street. All three areas, particularly the Fed and crypto, will likely be top priorities of the Trump administration. Hill is vice chairman of the Financial Services Committee and chairman of the Subcommittee on Digital Assets, Financial Technology, and Inclusion. His selection as the new chairman will be a significant asset for the cryptocurrency field. Barr was originally considered to be the favorite in the race. He is the chairman of the Subcommittee on Financial Institutions and Monetary Policy, writing in a letter to colleagues he can "build a bridge between those traditional Chamber of Commerce, Wall Street Republicans, and the America First populists who elected Donald Trump.” Lucas is the longest-serving GOP lawmaker on the committee and had touted his three decades in the House, while Huizenga had campaigned on his relationship with Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC), who is expected to become chairman of the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs next year. BIDEN ADMINISTRATION, CONGRESS, AND UNIONS TRY TO ‘TRUMP-PROOF SCIENCE’ Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Graves, the current chairman, will seek his fourth term as the top Republican on the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee after the Steering Committee approved his waiver to surpass the third-term rule. Graves is facing a challenge from Rep. Rick Crawford (R-AR), who put out a blueprint focusing on investments in the most-used methods of transportation, including highways, railways, ports, and airways. Rumored to be in the running for transportation secretary for the incoming administration, Graves is campaigning on his experience in the role — particularly the five-year Federal Aviation Administration reauthorization bill that passed earlier this year. Education and the Workforce Committee Outgoing Chairwoman Virginia Foxx (R-NC) received a waiver to seek a fourth term but declined to run for reelection, opening up the race for Reps. Tim Walberg (R-MI) and Burgess Owens (R-UT). Whoever serves as the next chairman will play a significant role in the House GOP's reconciliation process to push bills to Trump's desk for approval, including on the subject of student loans. Walberg, as one of the senior Republicans on the committee, outlined his top priority as supporting parents' rights, as well as fighting back against antisemitism on campus, which has continued to rise during the Hamas-Israel war. CLICK HERE TO READ MORE FROM THE WASHINGTON EXAMINER Owens is also running on combatting antisemitism on campuses and eliminating diversity, equity, and inclusion requirements in schools, hiring practices, and school choice. The Steering Committee will hear presentations from challengers on Monday and Thursday, with selections expected by the end of Thursday. The full conference vote to approve the committee chairmen-elect will likely be held next week.None
