Spurs inflicted a 4-0 drubbing on the Premier League champions in Saturday’s late kick-off. James Maddison scored twice in the first half before goals from Pedro Porro and Brennan Johnson sealed the win. Speaking to BBC Sport after the game, Postecoglou said: “Proud of the lads. To come to City at their place is a daunting prospect. It challenges every part of you. A bit of everything today. We had to be disciplined and work hard – and play decent football – and we did that. Our football was the difference today. “Outstanding performance. You have to be [clinical]. They won’t give you too many opportunities. There was a calmness and maturity about how we handled the ball. Against City, you can get spooked and don’t want to play against them. But you have to play. “They test you in every way—mentally, physically, tactically. Our flat spots have been really flat and something we need to eradicate. We’re a much better team this year than last year. We just need to find consistency.” Related Topics: EPL man city Postecoglou tottenham Don't Miss EPL: He should have been sent off — Joe Cole slams Ndidi over Palmer You may like EPL: He should have been sent off — Joe Cole slams Ndidi over Palmer EPL: Guardiola suffers worst defeat of career as Tottenham hammer Man City 4-0 EPL: We have to manage him — Arteta on Arsenal star after win over Nottingham Forest EPL: Nottingham Forest coach Santos praises three Arsenal players EPL: Maresca names England striker better than Harry Kane, Rooney EPL: It’s not red card, I love him – Maresca reacts to Ndidi’s tackle on Palmer Advertise About Us Contact Us Privacy-Policy Terms Copyright © Daily Post Media Ltdjili60
