777jogo game Andrew Callahan: It’s time to forget about Jerod Mayo getting firedOverwatch 2 is struggling under the weight of Marvel Rivals’ early success as the new hero shooter on the block is drawing players away in droves. Just nine months on from the game’s reveal, Marvel Rivals has become a force to be reckoned with. Dubbed the “ Overwatch killer ” before players even got their hands on the game, it immediately became clear Blizzard had some new competition in the genre. Now that NetEase’s free-to-play title is out in the wild, those early predictions are coming true. Players are flocking to Marvel Rivals right out of the gate as, despite Blizzard’s former president calling it a mere “copy” of Overwatch , the fresh take is being received well in the opening stage. So much so, Overwatch 2 is struggling to maintain a foothold. Reaching over 10 million players in just 72 hours on the market, Marvel Rivals is a smash hit. Meanwhile, Overwatch 2 is suffering from its quietest stretch yet, falling to the lowest concurrent player count on Steam that it’s ever seen. Overwatch 2 player count dips amid Marvel Rivals success Amid the hype surrounding Marvel Rivals, Overwatch 2 has dropped to its lowest point ever, at least since its arrival on Steam. Reaching as low as 16,919 concurrent players on the platform, according to SteamDB , the game set a new record for its smallest active player count to date. Of course, it’s worth bearing in mind Steam is just one place to play the game, many still engage on BattleNet, and consoles need to be considered too. However, when compared to the breakout success of Marvel Rivals, it paints a clear picture of where the two games currently stand. In the meantime, Marvel Rivals has been a smash hit out of the gate, setting an all-time peak concurrent player count of 480,990 players on Steam . This trounces Overwatch 2’s all-time best of 75,608 concurrent players. Related: The new release is also flying on streaming platform Twitch, with over 170,000 live viewers at the time of writing, compared to just 6,400 in the Overwatch 2 category. As is the nature of live service titles, ebbs and flows are to be expected, and it’s worth noting Overwatch 2 has its next jam-packed seasonal update arriving imminently. Season 14 goes live on December 10 and there’s every chance it helps drive an uptick in players again on Steam. We’ll have to wait and see if Marvel Rivals can maintain its position atop the hero shooter genre in the long run or if the launch hype will fizzle out. If you’re jumping in yourself though, be sure to brush up on our hero tier list to pick the very best characters.

The U.S., UK and EU criticized Pakistan's military courts on Monday over the sentencing of 25 civilians in connection with attacks on military facilities in 2023 after the arrest of jailed former Prime Minister Imran Khan. The civilians were sentenced by a Pakistani military court to periods of two to 10 years in a ruling that underscored concerns among Khan's supporters that military courts will play a bigger role in cases related to the former leader. Washington "is deeply concerned that Pakistani civilians have been sentenced by a military tribunal for their involvement in protests on May 9, 2023," the U.S. State Department said. The British government's foreign office added that "trying civilians in military courts lacks transparency, independent scrutiny and undermines the right to a fair trial." The European Union said the sentences were "inconsistent with the obligations that Pakistan has undertaken under the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights." Khan supporters attacked military installations to protest his arrest by paramilitary soldiers. The ruling on Saturday came days after Khan was indicted by an anti-terrorism court. After his arrest in May 2023, Khan was briefly released before being arrested again in August that year and he has since been in jail. He has faced dozens of cases since he was removed as prime minister in 2022, after which he launched a protest movement against a coalition of his rivals led by current Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Khan says cases against him, which disqualified him from contesting the 2024 elections, are politically motivated. He had a fallout with Pakistan's military that he blames for his ouster. Candidates whom Khan backed secured the highest number of seats in the elections. However, his rivals formed a coalition government. A U.N. human rights working group has said Khan's detention violates international law. The military denies political interference. Pakistan's government denies being unfair in the treatment of Khan or his supporters. The Pakistani embassy in Washington had no immediate comment. NoneSan Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy will miss Sunday's game against the Green Bay Packers with a sore throwing shoulder. Purdy injured his right shoulder in last Sunday's loss to the Seattle Seahawks. Purdy underwent an MRI that showed no structural damage but the shoulder didn't improve during the week and Purdy was ruled out for the game. Coach Kyle Shanahan said star defensive end Nick Bosa also will miss the game with injuries to his left hip and oblique. Left tackle Trent Williams is questionable with an ankle injury and will be a game-time decision. This will be the first time Purdy has missed a start because of an injury since taking over as the 49ers' quarterback in December 2022. Brandon Allen will start in his place. The Niners (5-5) are currently in a three-way tie for second in the NFC West, a game behind first-place Arizona, and have little margin for error if they want to get back to the playoffs after making it to the Super Bowl last season. Purdy has completed 66% of his passes this season for 2,613 yards, 13 TDs, eight interceptions and a 95.9 passer rating that is down significantly from his league-leading mark of 113 in 2023. Allen has been mostly a backup since being drafted by Jacksonville in 2016. Allen last started a game in Week 18 of the 2021 season for Cincinnati and has thrown just three passes the last three seasons — including none since joining San Francisco in 2023. Joshua Dobbs will be the backup on Sunday.DeSantis appointee says he won't help his elected replacement take officeMeta shares rise on potential TikTok ban in U.S., closing at record alongside Amazon

Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta Platforms Inc., arrives for the Meta Connect event in Menlo Park, California, on Sept. 25, 2024. David Paul Morris | Bloomberg | Getty Images Meta shares continued their extended rally on Friday, rising 2.4% and closing at a record after a federal appeals court upheld a law requiring China's ByteDance to sell TikTok or face an effective U.S. ban. The Facebook parent has climbed 77% this year after almost tripling in 2023, pushing Meta's market cap close to $1.6 trillion. Alongside Meta, Amazon also closed at all-time high on Friday, and is up 49% this year. Apple slid slightly from its high on Thursday. The hefty gains this year among tech's megacaps helped lift the Nasdaq to a record. The index rose 0.8% on Friday and has gained 32% in 2024. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg joined president-elect Donald Trump at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida last week for a dinner, where he demonstrated the company's camera-equipped Ray Ban specs, Fox News first reported. Zuckerberg, who has been the subject of frequent verbal attacks by the incoming president, is apparently seeking an active role working with the Trump administration. TikTok is one of Meta's biggest rivals and has soared in popularity in recent years, particularly with younger audiences, and now has about 170 million users in the U.S. In April, President Joe Biden signed a law that would require ByteDance to divest the app, or companies such as Apple and Google as well as internet hosting providers would have to stop supporting it. The unanimous ruling on Friday by a three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals in Washington, D.C., rejected TikTok's argument that the law is unconstitutional and violates the First Amendment rights of its users. TikTok said later Friday that it will ask the U.S. Supreme Court to overturn the appeals court decision. "The Supreme Court has an established historical record of protecting Americans' right to free speech, and we expect they will do just that on this important constitutional issue," a TikTok spokesperson said in an email. Meta's rally began in late 2022 and picked up steam early last year after Zuckerberg declared 2023 the "year of efficiency." The company slashed about 21,000 jobs and rebuilt its advertising systems with the help of new advancements in artificial intelligence. In its third-quarter earnings release , Meta reported a 19% increase in year-over-year revenue while warning of a significant acceleration in its infrastructure expenses in 2025. The company reported 3.29 billion "daily active people" for the third quarter, up just 5% year over year. Zuckerberg has been talking up Meta's efforts to develop new AI products and services, which will require spending billions of dollars on Nvidia graphics processing units and the energy to run them. And Meta has been building out data centers to shore up the technology infrastructure needed for its AI strategy. Posting on the Threads app on Friday, Zuckerberg said Meta AI "now has nearly 600 million monthly actives," and will soon release version 3.3 of its Llama open source large language model. Zuckerberg didn't say how Meta counts a "monthly active" user for its AI technology. CHEYENNE – Food is a basic necessity of life, and few places in Cheyenne understand this as much as St. Joseph's Food Pantry. Whether it be a single mom working two jobs or senior citizens raising their grandchildren, it can be a struggle sometimes to get food on the table for the whole family. Monday morning, from 9:30 to noon, St. Joseph's Food Pantry gave away more than 500 boxes full of food for Thanksgiving meals to local families. There was no financial requirement for pick-up; you only needed to be a resident of Laramie County. The pantry opened pre-registration for the Thanksgiving boxes late last month, and maxed out by Nov. 11, according to food pantry director Eva Estorga. She said this was the fastest they've ever "sold out." When the pantry initially began in the 1980s, it was relatively small, starting in the basement of the parish office of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Cheyenne. Over the course of many years, the demand for assistance required the pantry to move to a larger space, and then another one. They've been at their current location since 2016. The pantry currently provides an average of 700 to 800 clients a week with a week's worth of groceries. They serve their clients Monday through Thursday and have help from more than 80 volunteers. A majority of their produce, whether it be for Thanksgiving or any other day, is donated by local businesses, the community or food drives, but they also use any money donated to them to buy products themselves. The Thanksgiving box distribution day takes months of preparation. Estorga has to make sure they have enough food and boxes, is constantly seeking volunteers, and double-checks that all of the orders can be fulfilled when the day comes. Volunteers spend the beginning of November helping bring Thanksgiving food donations into the warehouse, and the day of the event is when they pack and hand out all the boxes. They usually need about 40 volunteers every year for it, and any extra ingredients they have will go to the boxes they hand out at Christmas time. The pantry has been doing the Thanksgiving box distribution for more than 15 years, and most of the food items have remained the same, but they try to get more each year. They give away boxed potato mixes, stuffing, turkey, canned yams and other Thanksgiving staples. Kathy Cunningham, a volunteer with the pantry who helps with check-ins, told the Wyoming Tribune Eagle, "We've had families tell us that if we didn't put this on, they wouldn't have had a Thanksgiving." The way the pantry distributes its boxes is with a drive-through system, where volunteers help with unloading food deliveries, picking up donations, filling boxes, welcoming clients, managing volunteer teams and distributing food. Wyoming first lady Jennie Gordon also helped in the assembly line as a volunteer. Another volunteer, Denise Hawkins, who helps with St. Joseph's Food Pantry's website and social media, told the WTE, "I love volunteering, in general, but here it's more of a family, and it feels like I receive more than I give." The pantry will be closed until next Monday so volunteers can spend the holidays with their families. "We've been doing this for years, and it just wouldn't be possible without (the kindness) of the community," said Hawkins. Welcome to an Amazon Prime Monday Night Hockey edition of NHL Predictions here at Last Word on Hockey as the Calgary Flames are in town to take on the Ottawa Senators. Tonight’s game is a tale of two teams headed in opposite directions. Calgary is winners of four straight, while Ottawa is losers of five in a row. Will these trends continue or will Ottawa be able to flip the switch at home? So, as we get into it, we will send out the reminder. Be sure to check out all our coverage as we look at key matchups and provide detailed analysis on all the games throughout the 2024-25 campaign. NHL Predictions Calgary Flames at Ottawa Senators, from Canadian Tire Centre Time: 7:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST) TV: Amazon Prime Monday Night Hockey The Ottawa Senators Searching for some Positives Some line tinkering by head coach Travis Green wasn’t enough to get it done Saturday versus the Vancouver Canucks . The Sens came back but in the end, it was too little, too late. It will be interesting to see what tricks coach Green has up his sleeve for the Flames. The @NHLFlames take a four-game winning streak into Ottawa, where @Senators forward Tim Stützle owns an eight-game home point streak of his own. It's Monday, and it's only on Prime! 7:30 p.m. ET | Prime Video Canada ( @SportsOnPrimeCA ) pic.twitter.com/ltd1uDnztx — NHL Public Relations (@PR_NHL) November 25, 2024 Regardless of the line changes, one player who continues to hum along is young star Tim Stutzle . Through 20 games, Stutzle leads the team in assists (15) and points (24). Along with Drake Batherson and Brady Tkachuk , the trio are all a point-per-game or better and power the Sens offence. However, the team is in disarray, evidenced with the roster changes. Artem Zub has a fractured foot, so the Sens management have made it known they’re in pursuit of a defenceman. Furthermore, Zack MacEwen cleared waivers and fellow Zack, as in Zack Ostapchuk has been recalled from Belleville. Cole Reinhardt was also called up so the exact lineup is a bit unclear. One thing confirmed is that Anton Forsberg gets the call between the pipes. Sens are trying to spice things up, hopefully they end up with two points in the end tonight. Vancouver Looks to Stay Above the Curve It’s hard to imagine the Flames are where they are right now. They traded Noah Hanifin , Elias Lindholm , Nikita Zadorov , Jacob Markstrom , and went from cap ceiling to basement dwellers over the past year or so. And somehow, someway, they might have actually gotten better. Yes, on paper they aren’t very strong. However, if you check the NHL’s Pacific Division standings you’ll find their 12-6-3 record has them in second place. Their offence is not fancy, with a pair of defencemen, one-two in team scoring. Rasmus Andersson (13) and MacKenzie Weegar (12) take the honours for that distinction. It is also interesting to note, that although they are not scoring a lot, they are consistent and durable. Each of the club’s top-seven scorers have played in all 21 games. The Alberta work ethic appears to be strong in Cow Town. Along with the team, one of their players is taking the NHL by storm. Rookie goaltender Dustin Wolf is a big part of his club’s success. Expect him to put his wonderful record on the line tonight. He’s currently 8-2-1 with a 2.33 goals-against average and a .926 save percentage. NHL Predictions: Canucks and Senators Based on our analysis, Ottawa powered by their captain right the ship for one game and emerge victorious. Prediction: Ottawa wins in regulation, 5-1. According to Fanduel, if we want to look at adding some friendly wagers on the outcomes, check these out. Take Ottawa to cover the spread at -1.5 paying +154, also, having either Tkachuk or Batherson score pays +110. Stutzle to record a point is -215. Those seem like good value picks assuming an Ottawa victory. Please play responsibly, check for your local rules and age restrictions, some jurisdictions require ages 21+. Gambling problem? (Nasdaq: TXG), a leader in single cell and spatial biology, announced today it had secured a permanent injunction in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware against the GeoMx products sold by Bruker Corporation (Nasdaq: BRKR), which acquired the product line from NanoString Technologies. To minimize the risk of disruption to ongoing research, 10x Genomics requested a carve-out for GeoMx users who installed an instrument prior to the trial in November 2023 . The injunction, which the Court said it will enter in January 2025 , is expected to prohibit Bruker from making, using, selling or offering to sell in the United States its GeoMx Digital Spatial Profiler and associated instruments, reagents and services for RNA and protein detection. At the request of 10x Genomics, the injunction will not block ongoing research by researchers who installed a GeoMx instrument prior to November 18, 2023 . Such customers can continue to purchase GeoMx reagents for use with existing GeoMx instruments for purposes of continuing their ongoing research. The Court found that making such an exception for ongoing research strikes a "workable balance between protecting the patentee's rights and protecting the public from the injunction's adverse effects." In addition, the Court affirmed the $31 million damages awarded by the November 2023 jury verdict, as well as supplemental damages and interest that will be added to the total damages when final judgment is entered. "Today's decision helps to safeguard our decade-long investment in innovation and ensures we can continue to develop groundbreaking technologies that help our customers revolutionize science," said Eric Whitaker , Chief Legal Officer at 10x Genomics. "10x exists to fuel scientific progress – not stifle it – and that is why we've done our utmost to ensure this injunction was structured to protect both our intellectual property and existing GeoMx customers' ongoing research." The Court recognized the harm NanoString's infringing conduct caused 10x when it wrote in its ruling, "Having been careful not to license its technology, 10x suffers when it proclaims itself as an innovator in spatial genomics but a competitor is using the same innovative, patented technology." Today's Court decision follows a November 2023 jury verdict that found that NanoString's GeoMx products willfully infringed seven patents exclusively licensed to 10x Genomics by Prognosys. During the trial, the jury heard testimony from the sole inventor of the patents, Illumina co-founder Mark Chee , and NanoString CEO Brad Gray and NanoString CSO Joe Beechem. After hearing all of the evidence, the jury determined that all seven patents had been infringed by NanoString, that each patent was valid, that NanoString willfully infringed those patents and that monetary damages were owed to 10x for the infringement of all seven patents. In affirming the jury's finding that NanoString willfully infringed, the Court relied on the evidence showing that NanoString knew or was willfully blind that its acts would cause infringement of 10x's rights. The asserted patents in Case No. 21-cv-653-MFK include (a) U.S. Patent No. 10,472,669; (b) U.S. Patent No. 10,961,566; (c) U.S. Patent No. 10,983,113; (d) U.S. Patent No. 10,996,219; (e) U.S. Patent No. 11,001,878; (f) U.S. Patent No. 11,008,607 and (g) U.S. Patent No. 11,293,917.
