The lawmaker representing Ilorin South in the Kwara State House of Assembly (KWSHA), Yusuf Maryam Aladi, on Sunday supported and empowered over 1,000 residents, including widows and artisans. She put the monetary worth of the exercise at well over N20 million. The lawmaker gave out 20 grinding machines, 20 chest freezers, 20 dryers, 20 catering equipment, 100 hair clippers, generating sets, 20 welding machines, 20 solar panels, 20 sewing machines, and cooking gas to male and female artisans. At the event held at the Bishop Smith Secondary School, Ilorin, the legislator also supported over 500 widows with cash and food items, including semovita, salt, and N10,000 each, as part of her widow support. According to her, no fewer than 100 pupils benefit from her education scholarships with due support and encouragement from Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq. The guest speaker, Lawal Olohungbebe, urged the youths to be wary of their contributions to the nation’s economy. Speaking on the title “Contributions of artisans to nation building,” Olohungbebe charged artisans to utilize the trending technology to enhance their productivity. According to him, networking should be encouraged among artisans, as well as improved customer-relationship practices. “Your integrity in business is unequalled and unparalleled; it is supposed to be the pride of every artisan,” he urged, adding that promptness and dedication to duty matter in business activities. The chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Sunday Fagbemi, while commending Aladi, said it is not always easy to give back to the source, describing the beneficiaries as the source. Fagbemi advised the beneficiaries not to sell the items, saying: “Please don’t, for the sake of the ravaging economic hardship, sell these items. Empower yourselves with them; the donor has good intentions for you to break the shackles of poverty.”Qatar tribune QNA Doha Lekhwiya launched its Strategic Plan 2024-2030 In the presence of Minister of Interior and Commander of the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) HE Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, on Tuesday. Ms Anne Neuberger said a sweeping Chinese cyber espionage campaign known as Salt Typhoon had targeted top US politicians. MANAMA, Bahrain - The US believes that an alleged sweeping Chinese cyber espionage campaign known as Salt Typhoon targeted and recorded telephone calls of "very senior" American political figures, a White House official said on Dec 7. The comments by Ms Anne Neuberger, the US deputy national security adviser for cyber and emerging technology, to reporters at the Manama Dialogue regional security conference in Bahrain's capital revealed new details of the campaign. While a large number of Americans' metadata likely has been stolen, US officials understand that "the purpose of the operation was more focused," Ms Neuberger said. "We believe... the actual number of calls that they took, recorded and took, was really more focused on very senior political individuals," she continued. She did not elaborate, including revealing the identities of those who were targeted. Chinese officials previously have described the allegations as disinformation and said that Beijing "firmly opposes and combats cyber attacks and cyber theft in all forms." "We're still investigating the scope and scale" of the hacking campaign, Ms Neuberger said. The New York Times in October reported that members of US President-elect Donald Trump's family and Biden administration officials were among those targeted by China-linked hackers who broke into telecommunications companies. A senior US official this week said dozens of companies worldwide have been struck by the hackers, including at least eight telecommunications and telecom infrastructure firms in the US. US officials have alleged the hackers' targets included Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, Lumen, and others and that telephone audio intercepts along with a large tranche of call record data were stolen. Clearview needed strong leadership to overcome last year’s attrition. Senior captain Isaiah Garcia was a leader on and off the field for the Clippers, playing a big part in their 8-3 record. Garcia’s hard work alongside his teammates rewarded them with a solid season. He was also rewarded individually with a Division IV first-team All-Ohio selection at defensive back Dec. 10. Junior quarterback Cy Christensen and senior linebacker Josiah Longo were named to the third team. “Isaiah is a tough, hard-nosed football player,” Clearview coach Mike Collier said. “He has great commitment to being great at whatever he works for. He was blessed to have a great season probably because of all of his hard work and his preparation. He did an outstanding job of being a leader for us this year.” It’s fitting that Garcia played safety and was the leader of the Clippers’ defense that held opponents to only 13.3 points per game. He had six interceptions on the season, including an interception return for a touchdown to guide Clearview to a 22-14 win over Black River in October. Garcia played a big role in all three phases for the Clippers as their second-leading wide receiver and second-leading punt returner. He had 31 catches for 480 yards and three touchdowns and led the team in all-purpose yards with 784. Longo earned All-Ohio honors for third straight year with 52 tackles and seven sacks. He was also Clearview’s leading rusher with 537 yards. Christensen threw for 1,970 yards and 19 touchdowns to go along with only five interceptions. “I think it says a lot about those three young men,” Collier said. “It couldn’t happen to better guys. They just work hard at their craft, they’re very coachable and they’re willing to do whatever it takes to make our team successful. They’re always team-first guys, and it shows a lot about the success for them and our team.” Keystone decided that two years away from the LC8 title picture was enough. The Wildcats put together a fantastic 10-2 season that culminated in a conference championship and a playoff victory. To return back to the LC8 driver’s seat, it took a lot of grit and determination from this group. Their efforts were rewarded at the state level with five D-V All-Ohioans. Senior offensive lineman Macin Padin and junior linebacker Shane Ohl were named to the second team, while senior quarterback Zach Shackelford, senior wide receiver Grady Whitacre and sophomore running back Wyatt McKee were third-teamers. “I’m really happy for these young men to be recognized for their hard work, for their leadership and certainly for their competitive excellence,” Keystone coach Don Griswold said. “They’re great teammates, and they provide great leadership for us. I’m really happy that they were able to receive state-level recognition.” Columbia had a league-high eight All-Ohioans ahead of Keystone’s five. Wellington also had five in D-V led by junior linebacker Trey Moore and junior defensive back Alex Frenk earning second-team honors. Senior wide receiver Johnnie Kinter was named to third team, and senior defensive lineman Nathan Krosse and sophomore punter Bryce Lehmkuhl were honorable mentions for the Dukes. Behind Clearview’s three All-Ohioans and Black River’s two, Firelands senior offensive lineman Noah Angle landed on the D-IV third team. It was a strong season for the league across the board. “There’s really good football players, and there’s really good coaching (in the LC8),” Griswold said. “I think each team in the league had some unique strengths. Firelands has the size, Columbia is going to run downhill at you with their three-headed monster. It’s awesome to see our Lorain County athletes be recognized. There is good football here, and I’m really happy for our LC8 players.”University of Phoenix Recognized With 2024 Academic Partner of the Year Award by EC-Council, the World’s Largest Cybersecurity Certification Body
