LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Voters dejected by the presidential election results need to find a way to give back and remain involved, Bill and Hillary Rodham Clinton said Saturday as they celebrated the 20th anniversary of the Clinton presidential library. The former president urged audience members in a packed theater to remain engaged and find ways to communicate with those they disagree with despite a divisive political time. The two spoke about a month after former President Donald Trump's win over Vice President Kamala Harris in the presidential election. Recommended Videos “We’re just passing through, and we all need to just calm down and do something that builds people up instead of tears them down,” Bill Clinton said. Hillary Clinton, the former secretary of state who was defeated by Trump in the 2016 election, said she understands the next couple of years are going to be challenging for voters who don't agree with the decisions being made. "In addition to staying involved and staying aware, it’s important to find something that makes you feel good about the day because if you’re in a constant state of agitation about our political situation, it is really going to shorten your life," she said. The Clintons spoke during a panel discussion with journalist Laura Ling, who the former president helped free in 2009 when she was detained in North Korea with another journalist. The event was held as part of a weekend of activities marking the 20th anniversary of the Clinton Presidential Library's opening in Little Rock. The library is preparing to undergo an update of its exhibits and an expansion that will include Hillary Clinton's personal archives. Hillary Clinton said part of the goal is to modernize the facility and expand it to make it a more open, inviting place for people for convene and make connections. When asked about advice he would give for people disappointed by the election results, Bill Clinton said people need to continue working toward bringing people together and improving others' lives. “If that's the way you keep score, then you ought to be trying to run up the score,” he said. “Not lamenting the fact that somebody else is winning a different game because they keep score a different way." “And in addition, figure out what we can do to win again,” Hillary Clinton added, eliciting cheers. The program featured a panel discussion with cast members of the hit NBC show “The West Wing” and former Clinton White House staffers. The weekend amounted to a reunion of former Clinton White House staffers, supporters and close friends, including former Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe and adviser James Carville. McAuliffe said he and Carville ate Friday at Doe's Eat Place, a downtown restaurant that was popular with Clinton aides and reporters during Clinton's 1992 White House run. He said he viewed the library and its planned expansion as important for the future. “This is not only about the past, but it's more importantly about the future," McAuliffe said. “We just went through a very tough election, and people are all saying we've got to get back to the Clinton model.”

Watching “ Nawi ,” two things become quickly evident. First, a wonderful lead performance carries the film. Michelle Lemuya Ikeny plays the eponymous character, a 13-year-old who yearns to go to high school but instead must face the patriarchal traditions of her community. She’s set to be married off for a substantial dowry in livestock. Second, the creative team of Toby Schmutzler, Kevin Schmutzler, Vallentine Chelluget and Apuu Mourine is so determined to make a salient point about child marriage that they deprive the film of its cinematic and entertainment value. In shifting focus to their political statement, the four co-directors fail to give their lead actor the showcase her strong performance demands. Selected to represent Kenya at the Oscars, “Nawi” takes place in the rural region of Turkana in the northern part of the East African nation. It’s based on true events and begins with its steadfast and studious young protagonist earning top marks in her high school entrance exams. As she’s being celebrated by her teacher and friends, and as a TV news crew interviews her for her academic accomplishments, a plan is hatched by her father Eree (Ochungo Benson) to marry her off to a much older man. Being the only daughter in her family, it falls upon her to save them and sacrifice herself in order that the price paid for the dowry can help sustain them. As she writes in her journal and the audience hears in voiceover, the price is “60 sheep, eight camels, 100 goats. No more, no less.” Before the wedding, the film spends time showing Nawi’s patriarchal family construct and the complicated interrelationships within it. As head of household, Eree has two wives: Ekai (Nungo Marrianne Akinyi) and Rosemary (Michelle Chebet Tiren). Nawi was born to Rosemary, the second and younger wife. These early scenes build real drama and tension in the family. Both women believe Nawi’s place is as a wife and mother, totally buying into their community’s traditions. Ekai is forthright and matter of fact about it, while Rosemary lovingly tries to convince Nawi to see the bright side, believing she could end up with a smart daughter just like she did. This mother-and-daughter dynamic is warmly portrayed, and the actors show palpable affection that explains how Nawi grew up to become courageous and graceful — she had lots of love and support. Additionally, Nawi has a poignant and playful relationship with her brother, Joel (Joel Liwan), even if they come from different mothers. Throughout this setup, Ikeny holds the film together with a performance rich in emotional clarity. The directors choose to play many scenes on her face, capturing her reactions to whatever’s unfolding in copious close-ups. Ikeny is always watchable and manages to convey silently what her character is feeling. For such a young actor, she comfortably and seemingly easily does what some actors take decades to achieve: fill the frame and single-handedly elevate their film’s artistic quality. Even as the screenplay runs out of ideas and resorts to obvious melodrama, Ikeny remains the sole reason to engage with “Nawi.” The character goes through a lot: she escapes, she tries to hitchhike to Nairobi, she becomes a mentor and teacher to a group of boys her age, and she has to make many critical decisions. Throughout this long journey, Ikeny shows Nawi as courageous, defiant, scared and lost all at once. Both character and actor mature onscreen and show real grit and conviction. However, even Ikeny’s performance cannot save the film once it hurtles to its conclusion. Where it had begun as a character study, “Nawi” fades out to become a rather rote PSA. The film loses artistic merit and dramatic credence as it desperately tries to make a point about child marriage. While this is a grave issue that needs to be addressed and loudly amplified to the audience, such an obvious approach is not how the issue should be tackled onscreen. The filmmakers resort to hammy techniques, such as having the actor address the camera, and in the process forget their main character and the story they set up to tell. Clearly, the filmmakers had good intentions, collaborating with various NGOs to tell the story, but the film ultimately becomes no more than an educational tool — something that could have directly come from one of these humanitarian institutions. Many people own RVs, or recreational vehicles, which are designed as “temporary living quarters for recreational, camping, or seasonal use” and are either powered by motor or mounted on another vehicle, the RV Industry Association says . But social media posts claim that the sale of RVs will be banned in several states starting in 2025. “These 6 States will be banning purchase of RV’s starting in less than 6 weeks: California New York Oregon Massachusetts New Jersey Washington Your Government is telling you what you can, and cannot buy,” one post says . VERIFY reader Andrea asked if it's true that some states are banning the sale of RVs. THE QUESTION Are six states banning the sale of RVs in 2025? THE SOURCES RV Industry Association California Air Resources Board Ford Advanced Clean Truck Regulation THOR Industries THE ANSWER No, six states are not banning the sale of RVs in 2025. But they are implementing regulations that will require manufacturers to sell more zero-emission vehicles, which the RV Industry Association predicts will negatively impact the availability of new RVs in those states. WHAT WE FOUND Claims that motorhome RVs are being banned in six states stem from California’s Advanced Clean Truck regulation, which requires manufacturers to sell an increasing percentage of zero-emission vehicles over the next ten years. New York, Oregon, Massachusetts, New Jersey and Washington are also adopting the regulation and will “maintain consistency with California’s requirements,” the RV Industry Association says . The policy doesn’t directly ban the sale of RVs in the states – it doesn’t apply to models already on the lots or used RVs, and companies can purchase credits to get around the rules – but manufacturers say the lack of compliant production materials could impact overall availability. The RV Industry Association says some manufacturers that aren’t able to meet the annual standards for zero-emission vehicle (ZEV) sales might stop selling any new RVs in states with the regulations. “While the regulation does not specifically ban motorhome sales, the ACT regulation mandates manufacturers of medium and heavy-duty vehicles to sell an increasing percentage of ZEVs each year,” the RV Industry Association says . Companies can still sell non-compliant RVs only if they are meeting the quota of zero-emission vehicles required each year from 2025 to 2035. Manufacturers who do not sell enough zero-emission vehicles can still sell regular vehicles through a credit system, but the credits "are likely to be expensive on the open market and would add another layer of cost to producing a motorhome with a combustion engine chassis,” the Association adds. The rule, which affects both trucks and RVs, has the goal of lowering the environmental impact of vehicles with air pollutants in the state. There are several types of RVs and the California Advanced Clean Truck regulation has different goals set for each, based on its gross vehicle weight rating, the maximum weight allowed on the vehicle as determined by the RV manufacturer. The regulation states that by 2035 new vehicles sold in the state should have: 55% of its sales of class 2b-3 on-road vehicles with a gross vehicle weight rating of 8,501 to 14,000 pounds be zero-emission. Vehicles in this class typically include camper vans like a Mercedes sprinter van , or smaller motorhomes like a Thor Compass. 75% of its sales of class 4-8 on-road vehicles with a gross vehicle weight rating of over 14,001 pounds be zero-emission. Vehicles in this class typically include motorhomes like the Coachmen Leprechaun . 40% of sales of its class 7-8 on-road vehicles with a gross vehicle weight rating of over 26,001 pounds be zero-emission. Vehicles in this class typically include larger luxury motorhomes like a Tiffin Zephyr . RV industry says there aren’t enough compliant parts The RV Industry Association argues that the regulation would have an impact on the availability of new motorhomes in those six states because there are no compliant chassis. The association said the regulation has “led chassis manufacturers to halt sales of traditional internal combustion engine chassis for motorhomes in California, stemming from the lack of ZEV chassis suitable for motorhomes.” A chassis is the foundation that RVs are built on. Depending on the type of motorhome, a chassis typically has a gross vehicle weight rating that can easily fall in line with the rate restrictions put in place by California state. For example, Ford sells chassis for motorhomes with gross vehicle weight ratings ranging from 9,000 pounds to 26,000 pounds. “Because chassis manufacturers have no ZEV chassis that are rated for applications to motorhomes, they have been informing motorhome manufacturers that they will not be able to provide them with any internal combustion engine chassis for motorhomes for the California market,” the RV Industry Association added. Without the ability to meet the requirements of selling an increasing number of zero-emission vehicles per year, some manufacturers may halt selling in the state altogether starting in 2025, the RV Industry Association says . RV manufacturer THOR Industries says it does not “anticipate any impact to our Class A gas, Class B or Class C product lines in fiscal year 2025,” although “there is some potential that our sale of Class A diesel motorhomes into California will be limited in fiscal year 2025.” The company added that Class A diesel sales only accounted for 1% of its North American sales in the 2024 fiscal year. The RV Industry Association has been meeting with the California Air Resources Board as recently as last month to discuss a potential exemption for RVs or delay implementation until a zero-emission chassis is available for RVs. “We remain committed to working toward a sustainable path forward that supports both CARB’s goals and the RV and active outdoor lifestyle. We are also exploring all options to ensure all Americans will continue to be able to purchase new motorhomes,” the RV Industry Association says . Rules wouldn’t impact RVs that residents already own or the purchase of used RVs While availability of new motorhomes for sale may be impacted in those six states in 2025, the regulation will have “no effect” on motorhomes already produced and delivered to the state. It impacts manufacturers, not current owners, and the sale of new, 2024 model and later vehicles. Consumers who wish to purchase a non-compliant RV outside of an impacted state can still register the vehicle in-state only if the RV is used, with more than 7,500 miles on the odometer. Several additional states are set to implement California’s Advanced Clean Trucks regulation in later years, including Vermont in 2026 and Colorado, Maryland, New Mexico and Rhode Island in 2027. While the RV Industry Association says “chassis suppliers have indicated that there is no change in sight for future years as well,” Winnebago is one manufacturer working on a prototype for an electric RV. THOR Industries is also currently working on a hybrid Class A motorhome that includes a Harbinger electric vehicle chassis. “RVs built on this hybrid chassis will be commercially available in 2025 from the THOR family of companies. The product is expected to qualify as a Near-Zero Emission Vehicles (NZEV) under the Advanced Clean Truck legislation adopted by the California Air Resources Board,” THOR Industries says . Manufacturers can get credits for selling near-zero emission vehicles, although they will be counted as partial credits. Data consumption has been skyrocketing for AI chatbots, digitalized medical records, online banking and cat videos. Now Newport Beach, California-based Province Group plans to invest up to $500 million into the 1-million-square-foot Merrillville Technology Park data center campus near Colorado Street and Harms Road in Merrillville that will pay workers up to a projected $175,000 a year. Chicago-based Wylie Capital plans to develop a 1.2 million square foot data center at Broadway, 93rd Avenue and Georgia Street in Merrillville that could result in $600 million in investment and up to 200 mostly six-figure jobs. And Karis Critical eyes up to $900 million in investment in a data center on 180 acres on 101st Avenue east of Deep River County Park that would bring hundreds of jobs. "It's a huge boon to the tax base of course once these buildings are totally finished and operational," Town Council President Rick Bella said. "They have to be equipped inside, which is another tax base increase. The neighboring businesses that will come here because there are data centers of this size here is tremendous. We're building Liberty Estates now, a thousand housing units. We need people that are going to buy those houses and move in." It would pay high salaries to highly educated professionals like network engineers, computer programmers, computer support specialists and database administrators. Listen now and subscribe: Apple Podcasts | Spotify | RSS Feed | SoundStack | All Of Our Podcasts "Those are the kind of people who are going to build new homes and bring their families to Merrillville," he said. "The trickle effect of these types of large businesses. You can't really put a dollar figure on it. It just keeps growing and growing." Data centers should help modernize Northwest Indiana's economy with high-paying, high-tech jobs, Bella said. "I think it helps put the Region on the map if we have data centers and more modern businesses," he said. "The steel industry and the oil industry are there and they helped build Lake and Porter counties. They've been there for decades but they're limited. These types of businesses help build a labor force, a smart labor force. These are different types of jobs with large salaries. It's going to build the economy of the Region." Stephen Muenstermann, the president of Cloudbusters and a Data Center Advisory Board member, said some academic studies would suggest that the $2 billion in direct investment in data centers in Merrillville could end up having an $8 billion economic impact in the town. "What happens is, if you look at things like autonomous vehicles and people doing surgical processes, they can't have any latency in the amount of time when they make the action they're doing remotely on the screen. They have to have precision timing," he said. "In order to do that, you have to have as few hops as possible to get to the source. So the more data centers you have in close proximity, the less jumps you have. If you design your network right and make sure you get a secure path with minimum microsecond wait time behind it, you can draw those types of businesses." Data centers could draw health care, financial, legal, cybersecurity and other firms. "They want to be close to data because they need it fast," Bella said. "There's a multitude of different businesses that will be here because of data centers."
Movie Review: ‘September 5’ goes inside a newsroom during the Munich Olympics hostage crisis News junkies will find much to love in “September 5,” a fictionalized account of ABC’s live coverage of the hostage crisis during the 1972 Munich Olympics . Lindsey Bahr, The Associated Press Dec 11, 2024 1:34 PM Share by Email Share on Facebook Share on X Share on LinkedIn Print Share via Text Message This image released by Paramount Pictures shows a scene from "September 5." (Paramount Pictures via AP) News junkies will find much to love in “September 5,” a fictionalized account of ABC’s live coverage of the hostage crisis during the 1972 Munich Olympics . There are spirited debates about reporting with only one source, use of words like “terrorism” and what to do if violence breaks out during a live shot. There are negotiations with rival networks over satellite usage, disguises and fake badges made to get reels of 16mm film in and out of the locked down Olympic village and plenty of confused men (and a few women) trying to keep up with an ever-escalating situation. The film is a moment by moment retelling of how a group of sports broadcasters brought this story to the world in real time, despite the technical limitations and their own inexperience across a confusing 22 hours. Everyone came to the studio that night ready for breaking sports news, scores and pre-packaged interviews. Even that was going to be a test for the man running the control room for the first time. Geoffrey Mason, portrayed by John Magaro , was a 28-year-old coordinating producer. Someone wonders about his experience and is assured that he’s covered minor league baseball games. But in the early hours of Sept. 5, 1972 , eight members of a Palestinian group called Black September broke into the Olympic village and attacked the Israeli delegation killing wrestling coach Moshe Weinberg and weightlifter Yossi Romano. Some escaped, but nine others were taken hostage. While the tragedy of the Munich Olympics has certainly been told many times, writer and director Tim Fehlbaum saw an opportunity in the team behind the live broadcast. And he commits fully to staying in the newsroom, with all of its glorious old technologies, from the walkie-talkies they used to stay in touch and to taking time to show how they had to manually add text to the screens. He and his screenwriter were able to reconstruct the events almost minute-by-minute, which helped shape the screenplay. The players are many in this large ensemble. Peter Sarsgaard , who’s looked right in a newsroom since “Shattered Glass,” gives gravitas to Roone Arledge, then-president of ABC Sports, and Ben Chaplin is operations engineer Marvin Bader. Leonie Benesch is Marianne Gebhardt, a German-speaking interpreter who is the only person there able to understand the language of the country. She might be a bit of a composite who checks off a lot of boxes as both an entrepreneurial woman and a younger German offering perspective and insight into what this moment might mean for the country trying to put on a good front in the aftermath of World War II. An actor (Benjamin Walker) plays broadcaster Peter Jennings, and real archival footage of anchor Jim McKay from that day is used in the film. And while they all rise to the occasion, mistakes are made – including a rather big one at the end, following imperfect secondhand information from the Fuerstenfeldbruck airfield. They don’t call it the first draft of history for nothing, after all, and it may be illuminating for audiences to see how it’s handled. The film looks of its time, but it also feels fairly modern in its sensibilities which makes it always seem more like a re-telling than an in-the-moment experience. This may be to its detriment, yet it’s still an undeniably riveting and compelling watch. The word thrilling doesn’t seem appropriate, however. This is not “Apollo 13” after all. The end is not a happy one. But at time when trust in the media is in crisis, this film is a great humanizer, reminding audiences that the media is far from a monolith, but a group of individuals under immense pressure to get the story right, get the story out and go back and do it again the next day. “September 5,” a Paramount Pictures release in theaters Friday, is rated R by the Motion Picture Association for language. Running time: 94. Three stars out of four. Lindsey Bahr, The Associated Press See a typo/mistake? Have a story/tip? Five schools forfeited matches in the regular season against San Jose State, which carried a No. 2 seed into the conference tournament in Las Vegas. Among those schools: No. 3 Utah State and No. 6 Boise State, who will face off Wednesday with the winner scheduled to play the Spartans in the semifinals on Friday. Wyoming, Nevada and Southern Utah — which is not a Mountain West member — also canceled regular-season matches, all without explicitly saying why they were forfeiting. Nevada players cited fairness in women’s sports as a reason to boycott their match, while political figures from Wyoming, Idaho, Utah and Nevada suggested the cancellations center around protecting women’s sports. In a lawsuit filed against the NCAA , plaintiffs cited unspecified reports asserting there was a transgender player on the San Jose State volleyball team, even naming her. While some media have reported those and other details, neither San Jose State nor the forfeiting teams have confirmed the school has a trans women’s volleyball player. The Associated Press is withholding the player’s name because she has not publicly commented on her gender identity and through school officials has declined an interview request. A judge on Monday rejected a request made by nine current conference players to block the San Jose State player from competing in the tournament on grounds that she is transgender. That ruling was upheld Tuesday by an appeals court. “The team looks forward to starting Mountain West Conference tournament competition on Friday,” San Jose State said in a statement issued after the appeals court decision. “The university maintains an unwavering commitment to the participation, safety and privacy of all students at San Jose State and ensuring they are able to compete in an inclusive, fair and respectful environment.” Chris Kutz, a Boise State athletics spokesman, said in an email the university would not “comment on potential matchups at this time.” Doug Hoffman, an Aggies athletics spokesman, said in an email Utah State is reviewing the court’s order. “Right now, our women’s volleyball program is focused on the game this Wednesday, and we’ll be cheering them on,” Hoffman wrote. San Jose State, which had a first-round bye, would be sent directly to the conference title game if Utah State or Boise State were to forfeit again. If the Spartans make the title game, it's likely the opponent would not forfeit. They would face top-seeded Colorado State, No. 4 Fresno State or No. 5 San Diego State — all teams that played the Spartans this season. ARLINGTON, Texas — Kind of a weird week in the Big 12, yeah? One of the conference’s former flagship programs (Texas) is playing for the SEC championship in its first season away from the Big 12. One team it passed over (SMU) is ranked higher than any of its current members and will contend for an ACC championship. Big 12 commissioner Brett Yormark publicly squabbled with the College Football Playoff committee and Group of Five competition on two separate occasions. Saturday’s conference championship game at AT&T Stadium yielded an announced attendance of 55,889, which, outside of the COVID-19-impacted 2020 season, was the lowest in the event’s 28-year history; last year’s, between Texas and Oklahoma State, drew a record 84,523 for what it’s worth. The secondary ticket market get-in price for the Big 12 championship game was as low as $16 on Saturday morning, according to Vivid Seats, and their cheapest SEC championship game tickets started at $110. And, yet, Arizona State gave the Big 12 a reason to cheer. The Sun Devils (11-2) throttled Iowa State, 45-19, to win the Big 12 championship in their first season as a member after the Pac-12 folded. Senior running back Cam Skattebo (208 total yards, 3 touchdowns) rumbled up and down the field, paced a blowout and helped give the Big 12 exactly what it needs: a team that looks like it might be worthy of a top-four playoff seed. “We’re 11-1 with our starting quarterbacking, having beat four ranked teams, having won the Big 12 championship,” head coach Kenny Dillingham said. “I think there should be a real chance we get a first-round bye, and I definitely think we should host a game.” Wouldn’t that be something? Yormark, before Saturday’s game, said that the conference is “building something special.” He talked up the conference’s “magical” November in which half the league remained in contention for a title game berth and a four-way tiebreaker (which also included BYU and Colorado) was called upon to decide Saturday’s matchup. Still, the Big 12 lacked a marquee contender this season. The kind that looks like a legitimate perennial postseason player. Like, say, a Texas or Oklahoma. The Longhorns and Sooners combined for five of the Big 12′s six playoff appearances under the original four-team format before they jumped to the SEC prior to this season. Texas will play for a top-four playoff seed on Saturday against Georgia in the SEC championship game. Oklahoma is, well, at least in better shape than their in-state rival Oklahoma State still in the Big 12. Internally, BYU had a chance to plant its flag this season but floundered late; Colorado has star power, a baseline of success but no serious postseason berth to show for it; TCU could’ve been in the driver’s seat after its CFP berth two years ago but is just 13-11 since. “I think, within time, you’re going to find that certain schools will distance themselves from others,” Yormark said. “I think that’s the evolution we’re going to go through. Parity and depth right now is what I’m selling, candidly, but moving forward I think it might be a little different.” Arizona State, in Year 1 of the new-look Big 12 and the expanded playoff, might’ve been the first to raise its hand. The Sun Devils were picked to finish dead last in the conference’s preseason poll but won five straight games to finish the regular season and force their way to JerryWorld. Dillingham, 34, is a rising star. Freshman quarterback Sam Leavitt (219 yards, 4 total touchdowns) is too. Skattebo — who surpassed 2,000 scrimmage yards on Saturday — is “the best player in the nation,” according to his quarterback. Their collective performance Saturday left no doubt that they belong in the CFP. It’s just a matter of whether they’ve done enough to convince the committee that they belong in that cushy top four where Yormark believes they do. The Sun Devils, ranked No. 15 in last Tuesday’s playoff poll, could certainly still be seeded No. 12 in Sunday’s final playoff bracket as the fifth highest-ranked conference champion. The four highest-ranked conference champions — who, according to the most recent rankings, are the winners of the SEC, Big Ten, ACC and Boise State of the Mountain West — will receive first-round byes. Boise State (No. 10) beat UNLV in the MWC championship game on Friday night to secure safe passage into the playoff. Yormark teed off on the selection committee on Wednesday and argued that no Group of Five team should be ranked higher than the Big 12 champion. He doubled down on Saturday, referenced his conference’s strength of schedule and claimed that there’s “no comparison” between the Big 12 and “any G5 conference champion.” The Sun Devils might have a chance to prove that a truth. If they remain the No. 12 seed and if Boise State remains the No. 4 seed, the two would be in line to meet in the quarterfinals if Arizona State wins its first-round game on the road. If their blowout win versus Iowa State sways the committee enough to move them above Boise State and into a top-four seed in Sunday’s final rankings, that same aforementioned quarterfinal Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty and Skattebo rank No. 1 and No. 2 in all-purpose yards per game this season. Jeanty is a Heisman Trophy candidate, though Yormark said Saturday that he doesn’t think “there’s any competition” for the award with Colorado two-way star Travis Hunter also a finalist. Yeah, if you hadn’t noticed, he’s not too fond of anything that has to do with the Group of Five right now. He’ll see which side of the argument the playoff committee falls on come Sunday. The Sun Devils, at least, made it interesting. “I do think we need to have a really thoughtful conversation [about] the selection committee and how the ranking is being done,” Yormark said. “Again, look at resumes. Look at data. The data doesn’t lie. So we’ll see where that goes.” ©2024 The Dallas Morning News. Visit dallasnews.com . After a late Chuba Hubbard touchdown and two-point conversion had made it 27-27, the Chiefs got the ball back with less than two minutes on the clock and a 33-yard run from Mahomes helped set up Spencer Shrader for a game-winning field goal. Running back Jahmyr Gibbs scored two touchdowns as the Detroit Lions beat the Indianapolis Colts 24-6 to improve their record to 10-1, matching that of the Chiefs. David Montgomery also ran for a score before having to leave the game with a shoulder injury. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers ended a four-game losing streak with a 30-7 win over the New York Giants, who “mutually agreed” to terminate the contract of quarterback Daniel Jones earlier this week. Jones’ replacement Tommy DeVito was sacked four times while opposite number Baker Mayfield ran for a touchdown and completed 24 of 30 pass attempts for 294 yards. Rachaad White, Bucky Irving and Sean Tucker also ran for touchdowns in a one-sided contest. The Dallas Cowboys ended their five-game losing streak with a remarkable 34-26 win over the Washington Commanders, with 30 points scored in the final three minutes. KaVontae Turpin’s 99-yard kick-off return for a touchdown looked to have sealed victory for the Cowboys, only for the Commanders to respond with a field goal before getting the ball back with 33 seconds remaining. Wide receiver Terry McLaurin sprinted 86 yards through the Dallas defence for a touchdown, only for Austin Seibert to miss the extra point. 99 YARDS TO THE 🏡 @KaVontaeTurpin was gone!! 📺: #DALvsWAS on FOX📲: Stream on NFL+ https://t.co/LvklCbYJ1e pic.twitter.com/4ckMWDEDPL — Dallas Cowboys (@dallascowboys) November 24, 2024 The Commanders tried an onside kick and Juanyeh Thomas returned it 43 yards for a touchdown.
