As the city's official convention bureau, DBE collaborates with stakeholders across the public and private sector to grow the pipeline of events taking place in Dubai. Among its key initiatives is the Al Safeer Congress Ambassador Programme, through which it engages with local experts and leaders to identify, bid for, capture, and host international business events in their respective fields. Dr. Mohamed Al-Olama, President of the Emirates Society of Neurological Surgeons, President of the Gulf Neurosurgical Society, General Secretary of Arab Pediatric Neurosurgical Society, Treasurer of Asian Australasian Society of Neurological Surgeons, and an Al Safeer Congress Ambassador, added, "This conference will bring some of the most intelligent and talented doctors from around the world to Dubai, to discuss their innovations in the field of neurosurgery. Their surgical skills will add tremendous value to the field of medicine and elevate Dubai's positioning as a destination of choice for specialised events. The clever tech savvy app is available for curious iPhone and Android users who are interested in chatting directly with Father Christmas this festive period. ChatGPT have managed to create an AI voice that is described as "merry and bright" and closely follows the speech patterns used by Hollywood depictions of old Saint Nick. The upgrade is a part of Open AI's spectacular 12 days of OpenAI campaign where they release a new feature every two days until Christmas. Dubbed Santa Mode, it is available to everyone using ChatGPT on their mobile, web app or desktop apps on MacOS and Windows. In order to access the Santa Claus speech users need to open up ChatGPT and find the snowflake icon next to the prompt bar. The virtual voice should then be a drop down option which when clicked transforms AI across to the North Pole. Santa Mode is set to remain available to users across the globe until early January. ChatGPT will work the exact same way as normal when the voice is on with only the tone changing. This also means that the chats with Santa won't be remembered and saved in the chat history . It is being mainly aimed at young families with children as it gives them a chance to speak directly to Father Christmas through the clever technology. It comes just months after OpenAI allowed anyone to use ChatGPT for free without even needing an account. "We're rolling this out gradually, with the aim to make AI accessible to anyone curious about its capabilities," OpenAI explained. Currently more than 100 million people are using ChatGPT weekly across 185 countries, according to OpenAI. ChatGPT is a powerful chatbot created by OpenAI. It's based on a large language model that means it can process your sentences and respond almost as if it was another human. The app launched on November 30, 2022 and saw a rapid rise in popularity. Part of the app's appeal is how natural it feels to speak to ChatGPT. "These models were trained on vast amounts of data from the internet written by humans, including conversations, so the responses it provides may sound human-like," OpenAI explained. "It is important to keep in mind that this is a direct result of the system's design (i.e. maximising the similarity between outputs and the dataset the models were trained on). And the content you provide to the chatbot can also be used to train OpenAI's models. However, you can opt out of this by going into ChatGPT settings if you have an account. It was even revealed that the groundbreaking artificially intelligent chatbot will soon be smarter than any human on Earth "in a few thousand days", according to its creator. In a personal blog post titled " The Intelligence Age ", OpenAI CEO Sam Altman wrote: "It is possible that we will have superintelligence in a few thousand days (!); it may take longer, but I’m confident we’ll get there. "How did we get to the doorstep of the next leap in prosperity? In three words: deep learning worked." AI is still a highly contentious piece of tech for millions across the globe. Many fear it will soon become too powerful with humans potentially being over reliant on the system. Others have concerns over how it may affect various industries and workplaces if robots or chatbots could replace humans. Ethics, privacy and misinformation worries are also some of the most common objections to the rise of artificial intelligence. Behavioral Insights on Waste Management: A Path to Sustainable Urban PracticesVice President Kashim Shettima on Saturday commissioned the launch of a new Floating Production, Storage and Offloading vessel by Oriental Energy Resources Limited. The VP represented President Bola Tinubu at the Drydocks World Dubai Shipyard in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates The vessel, named ENEM FPSO, with a storage capacity of one million barrels, will kick off with an initial production of 17,000 barrels per day before increasing its production capacity to 30,000 bpd. [Credit: X | #stanleynkwocha_] The vessel will be deployed to the Okwok Oil Field and is projected to commence operations in the first half of 2025. According to a statement by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Communications, Office of the Vice President, Stanley Nkwocha, this development aligns with the president’s efforts to revitalise the nation’s oil and gas sector, as the government aims to optimise production, reduce dependence on foreign imports and generate more revenue. Shettima said, “This FPSO vessel is more than just a technological achievement; it is a symbol of Nigeria’s ambition and our readiness to meet global energy demands. Under President Tinubu’s leadership, we are witnessing the transformation of the oil and gas sector, which is central to our economic revitalisation efforts.” According to him, the vessel is a critical link in Nigeria’s ambition to optimise productivity, enabling the country to become a central hub for hydrocarbon demand, both domestically and globally. The VP lauded the Executive Chairman, Oriental Energy Resources Limited, Muhammadu Indimi, for his remarkable contributions to the industry. He stated, “Over the decades, Alhaji Muhammadu Indimi has stood as a model businessman and symbol of excellence in the oil and gas industry. So, it’s not surprising that his vision has transformed Oriental Energy Resources Limited into a global phenomenon. “This outcome testifies to what is possible when ambition is matched with perseverance and expertise. His journey reminds us that Nigeria is a land of opportunity, and with dedication, there is no limit to what we can achieve.” Related News Shettima urges CBN, banks to address arbitrary PoS charges Shettima urges banks to tackle arbitrary PoS charges Oil sector struggles as govt misses revenue target [Credit: X | #stanleynkwocha_] Shettima further explained that as Nigeria’s home-based refineries come alive, vessels like this would be instrumental in maximising the nation’s production capacity and driving economic growth. “Just about two weeks ago, His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, was in Paris, where he oversaw the expansion of one of Nigeria’s indigenous banks into that sphere of the European financial market. That historic moment reflected our collective aspiration as a nation. “This FPSO vessel symbolises a future where Nigerian ingenuity meets global standards, and we will be here every step of the way to ensure its utility and success,” he added. Expressing delight in the project, Borno State Governor, Prof Babagana Zulum, commended Indimi’s vision and tenacity, saying his investment would stimulate economic growth and create job opportunities for many Nigerians, as well as ensure steady growth and development of the nation’s economy. [Credit: X | #stanleynkwocha_] Earlier, while welcoming the VP and his entourage at the event, Indimi revealed that the facility is the first FPSO to be fully funded by a Nigerian indigenous company. He said, “When operating at full capacity, we expect the Okwok Oil Field to produce up to 30,000 barrels of oil a day, significantly enhancing Nigeria’s oil production and contributing to the government’s ambition to increase oil revenue to fund Nigeria’s development. “The Okwok field is just one step towards our long-term ambition to deliver 100,000 barrels of oil per day of production in Nigeria. We have a strong set of proven assets and a development pipeline that can deliver it. “I want to take this opportunity to thank the Nigerian government; His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu; His Excellency Vice President Kashim Shettima, and the dedicated officials and civil servants in the Ministry of Petroleum Resources, NURPC and the other agencies that have provided the enabling environment for this investment”. Other dignitaries present at the commissioning include the CEO, Drydocks Dubai, Antolovic Rado; the Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, among other personalities.
