LAGOS – The Federal Government has been enjoined to confirm the appointment of Mr. Joseph Imalighwe as the substantive Rector of the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT), Zaria. Comrade Abednego Galadima, the President National Association of Aircraft Pilots and Engineers (NAAPE), stated this during the week in an interview with Saturday Independent . Galadima explained that since the assumption of office on December 13, 2023, Imalighwe had galvanised growth in the institution and enhanced productivity, stressing that his confirmation would propel him to do more for the college. Imalighwe was appointed as the Acting Rector of NCAT alongside five other Chief Executives (CEs). Apart from Capt. Chris Najomo, the Acting Director-General Civil Aviation (ADGCA), other four were substantive Chief Executives. Imalighwe, had replaced Capt. Alkali Modibbo who was removed alongside other five CEs last December. The Federal Government in its statement had said that Imalighwe would be in acting capacity, pending the appointment of a substantive rector, in accordance with Section 13(2) of the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology Act, 2022.
