Vanderhoef then began stabbing the woman's boyfriend, who suffered critical injuries but is expected to survive. The woman then came to her boyfriend's defense and stabbed Vanderhoff with a sharp metal object, said the spokesperson. Vanderhoef then strangled and stabbed the woman, causing moderate injuries. Vandorhoef suffered various critical stab wounds during the struggle. Whyte was questioned at the scene but said he did not know what was going on and was allowed to leave.
