The I'm A Celeb fans rushed to social media as they watched Danny Jones, Reverend Richard Coles, Coleen Rooney and Oti Mabuse don their capes and dive right in. On X, one said: "The one sole purpose of watching I'm A Celeb is finally here: Come on Cyclone." A second said: "Celeb Cyclone is my favourite every year.". While a third wished the fans: "Happy Celebrity Cyclone day all!" A fourth added: "Celeb Cyclone is my favourite every year." While another added: "Every celebrity who missed out on the I'm A Celebrity cyclone trial is unlucky. It looks so much fun and bloody exciting." And: "Celebrity Cyclone is the funniest trial and you can’t tell me otherwise." But there was a bit of disappointment that the public can't have a go. One suggested: "They need to open a Celebrity Cyclone experience where the public can pay to do this..." Another fan said: "If I had one wish in life or something to do on my bucket list it would definitely be Celebrity Cyclone." And a third simply added: "I’d bloody love to play Celebrity Cyclone." Ahead of the trial, as the campmates met I'm A Celeb hosts Ant and Dec, they told them: “You all look pretty fabulous!” Ant and Dec also revealed Oti was dressed in gold as she won the golden ticket to be at the iconic trial when she won Ticket to Cyclone. As she told the boys: “This is the dream, this is why I hit the gold buzzer, for this!” Dec took the opportunity to apologise to Richard, who has done plenty of food and drink trials, saying: “I feel like we haven’t got anything for you to eat or drink! I feel really rude!” Richard replied: “I’m gonna eat the Cyclone, that’s what I’m gonna do!” After they succeeded in getting their four stars and Ant and Dec asked if they really enjoyed the trial, Danny said: “Every minute! I wanna do it again.” Coleen said of the challenge: “It reminded me of a sunny day in the Rooney back garden! The NSE Nifty 50 finds immediate support near 24,550, with key resistance positioned at the 25,000–25,200 levels. Analysts highlight further resistance in the 25,200–25,400 zone while maintaining a positive outlook as long as the index stays above 24,300. "Technically, the support base now shifts upward towards 24,500 on an intermediate basis, which is likely to cushion any intra-week blips, followed by a sacrosanct support zone placed from the 24,350–24,250 zone," according to Osho Krishnan, senior analyst of technical and derivatives at Angel One. "On the higher end of the spectrum, 24,800, followed by 25,000–25,100, is likely to be seen as the next potential resistance for the benchmark index in the upcoming week," Krishnan said. Technically, on the daily chart, the index took a pause after a strong rally and formed a small red candle, while on the weekly chart, it formed a strong bullish candle, indicating strength, according to Hrishikesh Yedve, assistant vice president for technical and derivatives research at Asit C Mehta Investment Interrmediates Ltd. Yedve noted that, additionally, the index has witnessed a breakout from an inverted head and shoulders pattern. "As per this breakout, the index could test 25,000–25,200 levels in the medium term. Immediate support is placed near 24,550, followed by 24,300. As long as the Nifty stays above 24,300, traders should adopt a buy-on-dips strategy," he said. "As RBI reduced the CRR by 50 bps to 4% in line with market expectations, this move is expected to enhance liquidity in the financial system, support credit growth, and aid economic recovery. The repo rate was maintained at 6.5%, showcasing a balanced approach to managing inflation while fostering growth," according to Siddhartha Khemka, head of research, wealth management, Motilal Oswal Financial Services Ltd. "Next week, we expect Nifty to maintain its gradual upmove, driven by a potential increase in liquidity post RBI’s CRR cut, positive news flows around government policies, and the return of FII inflows," said Khemka. Bank Nifty settled the day on a marginally negative note at 53,510 levels. "On the higher side, the index could attempt to test levels of 54,000–54,500 in the short term. On the downside, 52,850 will act as immediate support for the index, followed by 52,500," said Yedve. So, he advised traders to adopt a buy-on-dips strategy in Bank Nifty. Overseas investors turned net sellers of Indian equities after buying for three consecutive sessions on Friday, while the domestic institutional investors turned net buyers after three days of selling. A federal judge in Houston is hearing arguments Monday on whether a bankruptcy auction was run properly as Jones alleges collusion and fraud. The hearing is expected to continue into Tuesday. TikTok asks federal appeals court to bar enforcement of potential ban until Supreme Court review TikTok on Monday asked a federal appeals court to bar the Biden administration from enforcing a law that could lead to a ban on the popular platform until the Supreme Court reviews the case. The legal filing was made after a panel of judges on the same court sided with the government last week and ruled that the law, which requires TikTok to divest from its China-based parent company or face a ban as soon as next month, was constitutional. Hemingway look-alikes visit Cuba and some of the late writer's favorite places HAVANA (AP) — Eighteen white-bearded men who resemble the late U.S. author Ernest Hemingway have arrived in Havana for the weekend to visit some of the his favorite places when he lived on the island decades ago. Members of the Hemingway Look-alike Society visited the author’s favorite bar in Havana, La Floridita, where the music immediately picked up, and tourists and locals gathered around to take photos. The visit comes as Cuba and the United States are in the midst of tense relations. Hemingway lived in Cuba from 1939 to 1960. 'Reindeer' volunteers bring holiday magic to Ukrainian children living on the frontlines IZIUM, Ukraine (AP) — A volunteer group is trying to fulfill the holiday dreams of thousands of children living near the frontlines in Ukraine. The St. Nicholas’ Reindeers initiative publishes letters online detailing the children's wishes. Some ask for gifts, such as a bicycle or a pet mouse, alongside more complicated requests for their family members to be released from captivity or to be able to return to their homes. Donors fulfill the gift requests and volunteer “reindeers,” named for the magical beasts that pull Santa's sleigh, deliver them in the weeks following Dec. 6, when Ukraine celebrates St. Nicholas Day. ON April 6 at a hotel in Sibu, Bawang Assan assemblyman Dato Sri Wong Soon Koh and other leaders of the now-defunct Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB) officially joined a Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) component, Progressive Democratic Party (PDP). With the inclusion of Wong, Engkilili assemblyman Dr Johnical Rayong and Ba Kelalan assemblyman Baru Bian, PDP now has a strength of eight assemblymen within the party. Wong, formerly PSB president, was appointed as PDP new senior vice-president, while Rayong and Baru were appointed as vice-presidents in their new party. Their admission into PDP came nine months after a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed in Kuala Lumpur for both sides to collaborate. Wong had, during the PDP Unity Dinner on April 6, said that PSB as an opposition party “has now become history.” He revealed that the approval letter for the party’s dissolution was received from the Registrar of Societies (RoS) on March 19. He also had said former PSB members were “happy to have chosen a new home, and happy with the decision to (join) PDP.” “Judging from the political situation in our country, we need strong governments at both the federal and state levels. “We therefore have decided to support the federal Madani Government under Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, and the ‘People’s First’ state government under Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg,” Wong said at the time. PDP president Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing had said that the entry of the leaders and members of now-dissolved PSB into PDP heralded “a new chapter of shared goals and stronger Sarawakian brotherhood.” He also thanked GPS leaders for their blessings and invaluable support of the PDP-PSB alliance. However, not everyone in GPS seemed too happy with this development. Clashes over two state seats, namely Bawang Assan and Engkilili, can be expected as these are the traditional seats contested by Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP), the state’s oldest political party and another component of GPS. Abang Johari, also GPS chairman, had said that the matter on which party got to contest would be discussed “when the election is approaching.” Nevertheless, the admission of these three former PSB members to PDP has enabled them to officiate at government events and hand over government grants to recipients in their respective constituencies. Meanwhile, Batu Lintang assemblyman See Chee How, who became independent after quitting PSB in 2022, has been closely linked with SUPP, having been seen attending events with SUPP leaders. The speculation became intense after See was seen joining SUPP legislators in a meeting with Abang Johari at the State Legislative Assembly Complex in November. SUPP president, Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Dr Sim Kui Hian, has however brushed off rumours that See might soon join the party, since no application has been received. Batu Lintang is a traditional seat contested by SUPP. It was first won by See in 2016 on a Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) ticket, and he successfully defended the seat for two more terms, including in 2021 as a PSB candidate. The presence of See (standing, third left) with SUPP leaders, seen here during a meeting with Abang Johari (seated centre) at the State Legislative Assembly Complex in November, has fuelled talks that he may soon join the party. Another seat clash with PDP is expected for Batu Lintang following Wong’s remarks about the party eyeing to reclaim the seat since PSB had invested significant resources and efforts to secure it in 2021. Wong also said that historically, Batu Lintang has not been a stronghold for SUPP. Meanwhile, GPS lynchpin Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) will hold its 16th General Assembly in late January or early February next year. As such, all the 82 PBB branches have been holding their respective general meetings to elect their respective branch leaders, and to come up with resolutions for presentation at the PBB Convention. All those branches that have held their meetings so far, have come up with the same resolution for Abang Johari to be retained unopposed as PBB president in order to continue as GPS president and Premier of Sarawak. Meanwhile, Democratic Action Party (DAP) Sarawak has continued with its stance of being the opposition at the state level, despite working together with GPS in the Unity Government headed by PM Anwar. DAP Sarawak chairman Chong Chieng Jen, as Padungan assemblyman, is only one of two DAP state elected representatives in Sarawak – the other being Pending assemblywoman Violet Yong. Chong, also Stampin MP, had stated his view that GPS having command of 80 out of the 82 state seats was “not good for democracy in Sarawak, and surely is not in the interest of the common people of Sarawak.” Elsewhere, Parti Tenaga Rakyat Sarawak (Teras) is aiming for inclusion in Barisan Nasional (BN) following its rebranding. There is currently no BN component party in Sarawak, after the four components formerly under BN Sarawak left the coalition after the 2018 general election to form GPS.
