On Sunday night, the 34-year-old Style singer concluded her two-year-long Eras Tour at the BC Place Stadium in Vancouver, Canada. However, boyfriend Travis, 35, was thousands of miles away as his NFL team Kansas City were taking on the LA Chargers at Arrowhead Stadium in his home state. Travis has wathced the Eras Tour an impressive 14 times, and fans watching his latest American football match were convinced he was itching to escape a post-match interview to watch his girlfriend sing instead. Many watching the sport were sure Travis looked uninterested while talking to the press after the game on Sunday - despite the Kansas City team winning 19-17. Earlier this year, a vicious rumour emerged that Taylor and Travis were only together as a publicity stunt and that they had a watertight agreement in place to annul their romance in September after a full year of dating. The sensational rumour began after an individual claiming to be an employee at the PR firm that represents Travis leaked a document online. The paperwork claimed to compose a "Comprehensive Media Plan for Travis Kelce's Public Relations Following Breakup with Taylor Swift ". A social media post about the alleged contract sparked furious speculation among fans - and an even more furious denial from the PR firm who insisted the document was "entirely false and fabricated" and confirmed that they “were not created, issued, or authorized by this agency". They added: "We have engaged our legal team to take action against those responsible for this unlawful and damaging document forgery." Nervous fans were then relieved as September came and went - with the couple maintaining their relationship which is still said to be going strong. The development was disclosed by Arif Habib Limited (AHL), the manager to the offer, in a notice to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Friday. “This is with reference to the PAI made by Liberty Mills Limited, Zain Ashraf Mukaty, Temoor Ashraf Mukaty, Ahmed Ashraf Mukaty, Soorty Enterprises (Pvt) Limited, Affinity Capital Pvt Limited, Najeeb Malik, Nadeem Malik, and Shahzad Malik dated February 26, 2024,” stated the notice. The PAI was initially supplemented by an addendum on May 17 and further extended on August 23 to allow time for regulatory and other approvals. However, AHL clarified that the timeline for the public announcement of the offer would lapse on November 24. “In this backdrop, and pursuant to Regulation 21(1) of the Listed Companies (Substantial Acquisition of Voting Shares and Takeovers) Regulations, 2017, read with the Securities Act 2015, we hereby give notice that as of the expiry date, the PAI stands withdrawn,” the notice said. The withdrawal, AHL added, is being undertaken to ensure compliance with legal requirements. Engro Powergen Qadirpur Limited operates as an independent power plant (IPP) with a 217MW permeate gas-based combined cycle plant located in Qadirpur, Ghotki. Purdy underwent an MRI that showed no structural damage but the shoulder didn't improve during the week and Purdy was ruled out for the game. Coach Kyle Shanahan said star defensive end Nick Bosa also will miss the game with injuries to his left hip and oblique. Left tackle Trent Williams is questionable with an ankle injury and will be a game-time decision. This will be the first time Purdy has missed a start because of an injury since taking over as the 49ers’ quarterback in December 2022. Brandon Allen will start in his place. The Niners (5-5) are currently in a three-way tie for second in the NFC West, a game behind first-place Arizona, and have little margin for error if they want to get back to the playoffs after making it to the Super Bowl last season. A man arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of UnitedHealthcare chief executive Brian Thompson has been named as Luigi Mangione. The 26-year-old was arrested on a firearms charge by police in Altoona , Pennsylvania, on Monday morning, following the shooting of Mr Thompson by a masked gunman in Manhattan last Wednesday. He has not been charged with the killing of Mr Thompson, officials said on Monday. Detectives from the New York City Police Department (NYPD) have travelled to Pennsylvania to question Mangione. Here's what we know about him so far... Arrest According to officials from the NYPD, Mangione was arrested in Altoona on Monday after a tip-off from a McDonald's employee who recognised him from the police appeals. Altoona is around 230 miles to the west of New York and in the state of Pennsylvania. According to police, he had a silencer and a gun "both consistent with the weapon used in the murder". They said the gun appeared to be a "ghost gun" - a type of weapon that can be assembled at home from parts and without a serial number - and that it was possibly made using a 3D printer. Mangione also had a fake New Jersey ID - with the name Mark Rosario - matching a document used by the suspect to check into a hostel in the city before the attack, NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch told a press conference on Monday. He was found carrying a "handwritten document" which Ms Tisch said spoke "to both his motivation and mindset". NYPD chief of detectives Joseph Kenny said that from the document, it appeared the suspect had "some ill-will towards corporate America". Background According to police, Mangione was born and raised in the state of Maryland and has links to San Francisco in California and Hawaii's capital Honolulu. His social media lists him as being from Towson, a well-to-do area to the north of the city of Baltimore. He is said to have attended Gilman school - a private all-boys school in the city. Fees cost up to $37,000 (£29,000) depending on the age of the student and the school boasts an impressive list of alumni, including businessmen, NFL stars and former state senators. After graduating in 2016, it appears Mangione went on to attend the University of Pennsylvania. According to his social media, he studied computer science and during his time there launched a gaming research group named UPGRADE (UPenn Game Research and Development Environment). He later co-founded his own computer game company, which focused on small, simplistic games. Magione lists himself as from Honolulu on his LinkedIn page, while pictures shared on his public Instagram page show him on the island of Hawaii. What about his social media presence? Mangione appears to have an active social media presence. One account, appearing under his name and picture on the X platform, regularly shares and reposts think pieces, with frequent topics such as artificial intelligence (AI), philosophy, and the future of humanity in a world of ever-more powerful technology. The account praised the book What's Our Problem? by the popular American author Tim Urban - who often addresses such topics - in January 2024 saying he "believed it would go down in history as the most important philosophical text of the early 21st century". While the account does address political issues, it seemingly does not express views on the American healthcare and insurance system. In another account matching his name and photograph on the user-generated book review site Goodreads, he appeared to give a four-star review to a text called Industrial Society and Its Future by Theodore Kaczynski. Brian Thompson shooting Brian Thompson, 50, was the chief executive of UnitedHealthcare - the fourth-largest public company in the United States. He was targeted by what experts claim was a "seasoned, professional killer", who shot him on 4 December as he was walking into a Manhattan hotel where his company was holding a conference. Investigators said last week the words "defend", "deny", and "depose" were written on the cases of bullets found at the scene, which are similar to the title of a book that criticises health insurance companies. The shooting happened at 6.45am on Wednesday 4 December - just before sunrise. Mr Thompson was in New York City for UnitedHealthcare's annual investors conference, which was due to start at 8am. As he walked towards the entrance of the Hilton hotel on Sixth Avenue, in Manhattan's midtown, a gunman appeared from two parked cars behind him. The suspect drew his weapon and fired at least three times at close range - around 15ft (4.6m) away from him on the pavement. Mr Thompson was shot in the back and the calf and died from his injuries. UnitedHealthcare is the largest provider of Medicare Advantage plans in the US and manages insurance for employers and state and federally funded programmes. The Wallabies could yet have code-hopping star Joseph-Aukuso Suaalii in the team to play Ireland in the final match of the UK tour after he was cleared of a broken wrist. Suaalii, who signed the most lucrative contract in Australian rugby history, was left wounded after handing out a big hit on Scottish captain Sione Tuipulotu, the Melbourne-born former junior Wallaby who was inspirational in his team’s 27-13 win that halted Australia’s UK winning streak. Amid serious concerns about Suaalii’s wrist, after he walked from the field in Edinburgh, coach Joe Schmidt tried to downplay fears of a more serious injury and subsequent tests delivered the relieving news. “After making a tackle yesterday Joseph Suaalii lost function and had severe pain in his right arm and was substituted,” a statement from the Wallabies camp said. DALLAS — As Perry Minasian prepared to leave MLB’s winter meetings on Wednesday, he wasn’t sure what he had actually accomplished during his few days in Dallas. The Angels didn’t acquire any players during the event – aside from a left-handed reliever picked in the Rule 5 draft – but the Angels’ general manager said he hoped he laid some groundwork for deals that could come to fruition throughout the rest of the winter. “We’ll find out,” he said. “I hope so. There are a lot of conversations.” The Angels still need some of everything. Minasian, per usual, would not rank the needs. “We want to get better,” he said. “We want to get deeper. Is that the bullpen? Is that the position players? Is that infield? Is that outfield? Is that starting rotation? We’ll find out. But we would definitely like to add to the team, not only the 26 but below that too.” Considering what the Angels have done and what they have currently, the infield nonetheless still seems to be a pressing need. Shortstop Zach Neto, third baseman Anthony Rendon and utility infielder Luis Rengifo will all be coming off injuries. So far the Angels have only added Kevin Newman and Scott Kingery to provide depth behind that group. A player who can start at third or second would be ideal. The Angels have checked in on trades for at least three third basemen: Nolan Arenado of the St. Louis Cardinals, Alec Bohm of the Philadelphia Phillies and Eugenio Suarez of the Arizona Diamondbacks. A deal for any of those players could be costly – in terms of money with Arenado and talent with Bohm or Suarez. Among free agents, third baseman Alex Bregman is the top of the market, followed by second baseman Gleyber Torres. Bregman is certainly out of the Angels’ price range, and Torres might be as well. One intriguing option below them would be Jorge Polanco, who is a 31-year-old bounce-back candidate who can play second, third or shortstop. He could likely be had for $8 million to $10 million. Polanco had a career .780 OPS over parts of 10 seasons with the Minnesota Twins, but that dropped to .651 last season with the Seattle Mariners, who declined his option. Seattle is a notorious pitchers’ park, and Polanco had a .606 OPS at home, and a more reasonable .694 mark on the road. Some of last year’s decline could have been attributed to playing through knee issues that ultimately required surgery. He also had a .740 OPS with 11 home runs during the second half of the season. Polanco is also a switch-hitter who has been better from the left side over his career. The Angels are in need of any good hitters, but ideally they’d add some who are better against righties, because that was their weaker side last season. “You always want to balance the lineup as best as you can,” Minasian said. “It’s just about what’s available. So we wouldn’t pass on a right-handed hitter that we feel like is productive.” RULE 5 PICK The Angels selected left-handed reliever Garrett McDaniels from the Dodgers in the Rule 5 draft. McDaniels joins the Angels’ 40-man roster. They must keep him on the major league roster all season or else offer him back to the Dodgers. McDaniels, 24, had a 3.19 ERA with 84 strikeouts in 731⁄3 innings last season. He pitched just three innings at Double-A, and the rest were at two levels of Class-A. “Good arm, can spin two breaking balls, heater’s 94-95, combination of ground balls and strikeouts,” Minasian said. “Now, it’s at lower levels, but stuff is stuff. We felt like it was worth taking a look at him at spring training, and we’ll see if he can make the team. ... “You can never have too many lefties, and especially guys that can really spin the ball. It’s a good trait to have in the bullpen.” ARIZONA UPGRADES Before Minasian came to Dallas, he stopped in Arizona to get a look at the team’s upgraded spring training facilities in Tempe. The Angels re-did their clubhouse, weight room and offices, and they added pitching and hitting labs. “It looks great,” Minasian said. “I had a chance to walk through. It’s not completely finished. Obviously, we still have time. It blew me away. It’s better than I even thought it would be. The labs are awesome.” The Angels have been behind other organizations in terms of their technology. This facility should help them catch up, and Minasian believes it will translate to improved performance of their players. “I think it’s going to be significant,” Minasian said. “I really do. Although it’s reasonable to think the language barrier might preclude Kikuchi from having the same type of influence, Minasian said he is “100%” certain that Kikuchi will help the Angels’ young pitchers, both with his words and actions. “His English is pretty good,” Minasian said. “The work ethic and the the prep and the weight room stuff. People see him doing the work. If you ask people in Toronto and the short stay in Houston and even in Seattle, it’s real. It will be good for our guys.”
