Now that we’re done with peculiar festive events, it’s time to dive into BitLife once again and take on the Under the Influence challenge. This time, our character is chasing social media fame while tackling a few addictions. BitLife Under the Influence challenge guide BitLife’s Under the Influence challenge has five tasks to complete: Be born in Germany Get Verified on 3+ different social media platforms Develop an alcohol addiction Develop a gambling addiction Troll 5+ people on social media Although you’re not required to purchase any special career packs or expansions for this challenge, having ones like musician, athlete, or modeling will make it much easier to become famous and gain social media popularity. The Hollywood Star can also achieve a similar result. If you don’t have either and want to avoid spending money, though, you can finish this challenge without pursuing these routes. Your first task of the Under the Influence challenge is to create a character born in Germany. Your gender and city don’t matter for this challenge as long as you select Germany as your country in the character creation menu. Once you make your German character, age up and create some social media accounts. You can access this by going to Assets, Social Media , and any platform you wish. Right away, you can make a Twitch account and join the Affiliate program, giving you an avenue to become famous early on through streaming. Otherwise, there are other methods you can use. After joining Twitch as your first verified social media platform, you have two main paths to getting other verified accounts: actively post on various platforms until you cultivate a following, or become famous through other means before making your accounts. Becoming famous makes this much easier, but you can use whichever strategy you prefer. BitLife offers multiple ways to become famous, with the jobs below being just a few examples: Writer Chef DJ Magician Socialite Musician (Special Career Pack) Actor (Special Career Pack) Model (Special Career Pack) Astronaut (Special Career Pack) Athlete (Special Career Pack) Being royalty achieves the same result, but this is much harder to accomplish, even with the celebrity dating service added in 2024. Generally speaking, becoming famous requires you to land one of these jobs and work hard for a few years until you get lucky and catch the public’s eye. From there, you can create a few in-game social media accounts, age up once or twice, and request verification to knock out this task. The next two tasks of the Under the Influence challenge are to develop alcohol and gambling addictions. You can gain addictions in BitLife by repeatedly engaging in the activity. With alcohol, visiting a nightclub through Activities > Nightlife will quickly get you there, while gambling requires visiting the casino multiple times a year. The final objective is the easiest, as it just requires you to troll five people on social media. To do this, head to any of your social media platforms and select Troll. From here, you can troll friends, family, celebrities, or BitLife App themselves, but the last option will give you various illnesses that can be difficult to cure. Once you troll at least five people, you’ll officially complete BitLife’s Under the Influence challenge and receive a mystery gift box.MARLBOROUGH, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec 17, 2024-- CardioFocus, Inc. , a medical device company dedicated to advancing ablation treatment for cardiac arrhythmias, today announced the first series of patients treated with the investigational OptiShotTM Pulsed Field Ablation (PFA) System for the treatment of paroxysmal atrial fibrillation as part of the VISION AF clinical trial. WASHINGTON (AP) — The United States should proceed cautiously as officials consider new natural gas export terminals, Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm said Tuesday, warning that “unfettered exports” of liquefied natural gas, or LNG, could raise wholesale domestic prices by more than 30% and increase planet-warming greenhouse gas emissions. Granholm’s statement came as the Energy Department released a long-awaited study on the environmental and economic impacts of natural gas exports , which have grown exponentially in the past decade. The analysis found that U.S. LNG shipments drive up domestic prices and frequently displace renewable energy sources such as wind and solar power. Increased LNG exports also would lead to higher global greenhouse gas emissions, even with use of technology such as equipment to capture and store carbon emissions, the report said. “Today’s publication reinforces that a business-as-usual approach (to LNG exports) is neither sustainable nor advisable,’' Granholm said. The Energy Department report comes after the Biden administration paused approvals of new LNG projects in January to study the effects LNG exports have on the planet. Natural gas emits methane, a potent greenhouse gas, when burned, leaked or released. RELATED COVERAGE What does Big Tech hope to gain from warming up to Trump? Archivist says Equal Rights Amendment can’t be certified as Democrats push Biden to recognize it Pharrell Williams is named a UNESCO goodwill ambassador LNG is especially energy intensive, since the gas must be retrieved through underground drilling, then piped to export terminals along the East and Gulf coasts. The gas is then “superchilled” into a liquid that is taken by tanker ships to import terminals in Europe and Asia, where it is then reheated into gas and distributed for business and family use. The oil and gas industry, along with Republican allies in Congress, have decried the LNG pause as unnecessary and counter-productive, and President-elect Donald Trump has vowed to end the pause on his first day in office . The pause is on hold under a federal court order , but few new terminals have been approved in the past year. The Energy Department said last week it will not decide on two major LNG export projects in Louisiana until the independent Federal Energy Regulatory Commission completes environmental reviews of each project. The American Gas Association called the Biden administration’s pause a mistake that has resulted in uncertainty for the global market, investors and America’s allies around the world. “This report is a clear and inexplicable attempt to justify their grave policy error,” said AGA president and CEO Karen Harbert. “America’s allies are suffering from the weaponization of natural gas and energy deprivation, and any limitations on supplying life essential energy is absolutely wrong-headed.” Harbert said the industry group looks forward to working with the Trump administration “to rectify the glaring issues with this study during the public comment period,” which lasts until mid-February. Charlie Riedl, executive director of the Center for LNG, a pro-industry group, said Republican and Democratic administrations, as well as independent researchers, “have continually found that U.S. LNG exports provide economic, national security and climate benefits and serve the public interest.” U.S. LNG “remains a vital tool for countries looking to displace dirtier fuels” such as coal and reduce their emissions, Riedl said, adding that U.S. LNG exports play a key role in meeting growing global demand for natural gas. U.S. gas shipments to Europe and Asia have soared since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in 2022. The LNG pause, announced by President Joe Biden as the 2024 election year began, aligned the Democratic administration with environmentalists who fear the huge increase in LNG exports in recent years is locking in potentially catastrophic planet-warming emissions at a time when Biden has pledged to cut U.S. climate pollution in half by 2030 . “While MAGA Republicans willfully deny the urgency of the climate crisis, condemning the American people to a dangerous future, my administration will not be complacent,′′ Biden said in announcing the pause. His actions “heed the calls of young people and frontline communities who are using their voices to demand” climate action, Biden added. The White House declined to comment on the Energy Department study, referring questions to the agency.Zhang Gui Bing, President of Chery International (Seated in the Middle), with business leaders who attended the opening ceremonyGardening trends set to be big in 2025
