Forget Landman and Yellowstone – Taylor Sheridan has pulled out all the military stops for Episode 8, a.k.a the dramatic finale of Lioness Season 2. It’s time to trust the CIA for one last mission. After the events set up in Episode 7, Team Lioness is heading back to base in Iraq, needing to intercept enemy intel on the border as quietly as possible. At the same time, Kaitlyn is now overseeing the overarching plot of Los Tigres, a Mexican drug cartel Joe has been chasing this entire time. They’ve got the inside hand with their niece Josephina being a US soldier, but it’s now up to her dad Pablo to play ball. Joe almost lost her life in the binge-worthy TV show , but she’s intent on being back on the battlefield. But can she make it out alive... and can anyone else? Here’s the full rundown of Lioness Season 2 Episode 8 (Warning: spoilers ahead !). The Iran mission is complex in Lioness Season 2 Episode 8 Episode 8 of Lioness Season 2 opens on the Turkey-Iraq-Iran border convergence. Cody is in position in complete camo (yes, Taylor Sheridan is back !), tracking a helicopter that is about to land. Jo, Bobby, Josephina, and Cruz are following up in tanks, with Joe near her physical limits before they even begin. They get back to the US base, where we saw Joe and Josephina meet during Episode 2 . When the team tries to gear up, Joe insists on taking a gun with her – remember, she was told in Episode 7 that she’s only allowed to observe and advise. Meanwhile, Josephina’s old Commander thinks she’s out of her mind to be flying a helicopter she doesn’t know with only one door gunner and no flight plan. Cruz will be with her, and the two promise to “talk” should they get through the new mission alive. The team is briefed. Essentially, they’ve got about two hours to get to an outpost to intercept the enemy. There’s support, but not much – or it’s been damaged in Afghanistan. The enemy is well-trained and well-stocked, almost entirely matching the Lionesses. Iraq’s border is only two miles away, but Joe has already been told damage needs to happen in Iran. The operation officially gets named Sky Hawk. Related: Pablo chooses his side Kaitlyn and Bryon arrive where Kyle is holing up, looking to talk to Pablo. His global bank accounts have all been frozen, including his trusts for the children. Kaitlyn clarifies they’re there to “eliminate the threat to United States national security,” which is technically his brother. What they want is Pablo’s trust to help them, which in turn they would “tirelessly protect.” When Pablo falters, the pair tempt him with “the security he has in Mexico with the freedom he has in the United States.” Pablo is made to call Alvaro, with Kaitlyn and Bryon wanting to meet him the following morning. They promise him $300 million upfront, with more to be arranged. Meanwhile, Edwin calls the Chief of Staff in to be briefed on an unfolding development. Two Chinese nuclear scientists are en route to Isfahan Nuclear Base with either information or supplies, essentially activating Iran’s nuclear abilities. The president has no knowledge of this. When four vehicles leave the enemy outpost, it’s all go. While Sheridan’s character is driving the equivalent of an army dune buggy across open plains, Josephina and Cruz attack the enemy convoy from the air. Their helicopter is hit and is going down. They brace for impact, crashing into the ground. Bobby and the on-ground team are sent to move in, with Cody in a nearby sniper base trying to take out whoever from the convoy was left standing. We cut to an airfield where Kaitlyn and co. are taken to meet Alvaro. Everybody is made to step out of the car before they arrive at his premises, which turns into a gun standoff. Pablo calms things down, with the cars moving in. Bryon sneaks a gun into Pablo’s pocket, who immediately shoots Alvaro in the face, taking down the rest of his henchmen with him. Pablo tells the remaining guys the cartel has a new boss, and that the Chinese hostage belongs to the CIA. Miraculously, the entire team survives In Iran, Cruz emerges from the crash. Josephina is also alive, but she can’t walk. They’re completely exposed to incoming enemy vehicles, with Joe’s team being called back to base. She dismisses the orders, telling Bobby they need to get there first. They are hugely outnumbered, leading to a shootout before they’re able to get to the crash site. There’s only so much Cody can do, and the rest are getting annihilated. Cody advises they fall back, leaving the snipers to cover after disabling the enemy vehicles. In the meantime, they’re hit by a new tank. They survive, but it’s revealed their location to the enemies on the ground. They move on foot while Joe finds the helicopter. While the team regroups, the entire outpost approaches to attack on foot. As Cody tells Joe they need to move, Edwin watches, being advised to call the president. Backup is still five minutes away, with more enemy soldiers turning up. One by one, the team starts to get shot as enemies swarm in. Joe runs out of ammo, with Josephina left screaming in pain. Just when things look at their bleakest, presidential backup arrives, destroying all enemy units in their surroundings. Relevant ambassadors phone the CIA, with Edwin advising to “let them stew.” Nobody has died, but there are some serious life-threatening injuries among the Lionesses. The clean-up operation is overwhelming, and Joe is left in an extremely emotional state. She breaks down in tears, later arriving back home. Neal is on the doorstep waiting for her, and the two make up after their previous row. Lioness Season 2 is available on Paramount Plus. I learned the hard way that pressuring him to change wouldn't work. A home remodel forced us to face the clutter, and now, we communicate much better. I consider myself a pseudo-minimalist . I don't buy knickknacks when traveling, fill my home with extra furniture, or stock up on pantry, beauty, or toiletry supplies. I like having dresser drawers that close easily and bookshelves I can pull a novel from without four others toppling onto my head. Now imagine the opposite of my personality in the clutter department, and you have my husband. He's a collector . He's a saver of the socks I would throw out because they're starting to get a small hole, of the hockey gear that goes unused, of extra dinnerware we don't have room for. So what are these two personalities doing living under one roof? Well, we love each other. And people do crazy things for love. The difference between how we dealt with clutter took a toll When we married and moved in together, the problem revealed itself in full. We had very different ways of organizing and even thinking about the items we bring — and keep — in our home. I felt suffocated and panicked at the stacks, bags, and boxes of his things. My attempts to purge items didn't go well. I didn't know how to be kind in my panic, and he didn't want things to change. Living with so much clutter affected my mental health. I felt the pressure of organizing so many things. It seemed impossible to make stuffed spaces look nice. Rooms felt cramped, every storage area overflowed, and our fights over the subject became caustic. I knew it was time for a different approach. He had emotional attachments to things that I didn't understand, but it didn't mean I was right in demanding that they go. Health and wellness consultant Michelle Porter told Business Insider, "Studies show that cluttered spaces elevate cortisol levels, the body's stress hormone. For all household members, this can mean heightened irritability, difficulty focusing, and a reduced ability to relax." In short, our stuff affects our health, and I needed to reduce our load. Biopsychologist Mary Poffenroth explains why organizing shared spaces can be so difficult. "What one partner thinks is necessary organization, the other partner may see as a threat to their emotional safety and well-being." A remodel meant it was time for a new approach During our recent kitchen remodel , I saw that even with the additional space provided by the new cabinetry, it still wasn't enough for all the appliances and dishes he owned. I suggested we only keep what would fit into the new space. To my surprise and delight, he agreed. This made the getting-rid-of-things talks that followed easier because we'd both consented beforehand. Related stories At the end of the remodel, we donated several boxes. I felt empowered. High on the win, we implemented this same tactic in other areas by creating a "one in, one out" rule. If a new shirt comes into the house, he donates one. The same goes for other clothing items. And now, when he wants to buy a new appliance, he considers first if we have a space for it. We now have a new way of talking about clutter For items going unused, it takes a little more patience. I'll bring up the item I'd like to discuss and the fact that it seems we don't really need it. I use the word "seem" specifically so he can correct me if he is using it and I'm wrong. He usually replies with how he's hoping to use the item soon and we agree to a timeline. Then, if it's not used at least an agreed-upon number of times over the next year, we'll sell or donate it. Nowadays, our space is much more comfortable for me than when we first married. Decluttering our space will be an ongoing process as life and needs change, but we've learned how to talk through the "stuff" in a way that works for us both, and that's the real success story.
YPSILANTI, Mich. (AP) — On a damp Wednesday night with temperatures dipping into the 30s, fans in sparsely filled stands bundled up to watch Buffalo beat Eastern Michigan 37-30 on gray turf. The lopsided game was not particularly notable, but it was played on one of the nights the Mid-American Conference has made its own: A weeknight. “A lot of the general public thinks we play all of our games on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, not just some of them in November,” MAC Commissioner Jon Steinbrecher said in a telephone interview this week. “What it has done is help take what was a pretty darned good regional conference and has given it a national brand and made it a national conference.” When the conference has played football games on ESPN or ESPN2 over the last two seasons, the linear television audience has been 10 times larger than when conference schools meet on Saturdays and get lost in the shuffle when viewers have many more choices. The most-watched MAC game over the last two years was earlier this month on a Wednesday night when Northern Illinois won at Western Michigan and there were 441,600 viewers, a total that doesn’t include streaming that isn’t captured by Nielsen company. During the same span, the linear TV audience has been no larger than 46,100 to watch two MAC teams play on Saturdays. “Having the whole nation watching on Tuesday and Wednesday night is a huge deal for the MAC,” Eastern Michigan tight end Jere Getzinger said. “Everybody wants to watch football so if you put it on TV on a Tuesday or Wednesday, people are going to watch.” ESPN has carried midweek MAC football games since the start of the century. ESPN and the conference signed a 13-year extension a decade ago that extends their relationship through at least the 2026-27 season. The conference has made the most of the opportunities, using MACtion as a tag on social media for more than a decade and it has become a catchy marketing term for the Group of Five football programs that usually operate under the radar in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois and New York. Attendance does tend to go down with weeknight games, keeping some students out of stadiums because they have class or homework and leading to adults staying away home because they have to work the next morning. “The tradeoff is the national exposure,” Buffalo coach Pete Lembo said. “You know November nights midweek the average fan is going to park on the couch, have a bowl of chips and salsa out in front, and watch the game from there." When the Bulls beat Ball State 51-48 in an overtime thriller on a Tuesday night earlier this month, the announced attendance was 12,708 and that appeared to be generous. There were many empty seats after halftime. “You watch the games on TV, the stadiums all look like this,” Buffalo fan Jeff Wojcicki said. “They are not packed, but it’s the only game on, and you know where to find it.” Sleep and practice schedules take a hit as well, creating another wave of challenges for students to attend class and coaches to prepare without the usual rhythm of preparing all week to play on Saturday. “Last week when we played at Ohio in Athens, we had a 4-four bus ride home and got home at about 3:30 a.m.,” Eastern Michigan center Broderick Roman said. “We still had to go to class and that was tough, but it's part of what you commit to as an athlete.” That happens a lot in November when the MAC shifts its unique schedule. During the first two weeks of the month, the conference had 10 games on Tuesdays and Wednesdays exclusively. This week, there were five games on Tuesday and Wednesday while only one was left in the traditional Saturday slot with Ball State hosting Bowling Green. Next week, Toledo plays at Akron and Kent State visits Buffalo on Tuesday night before the MAC schedule wraps up with games next Friday and Saturday to determine which teams will meet in the conference title game on Dec. 7 in Detroit. In all, MAC teams will end up playing about 75% of their games on a Saturday and the rest on November weeknights. When the Eagles wrapped up practice earlier this week, two days before they played the Bulls, tight end Jere Getzinger provided some insight into the effects of the scheduling quirk. “It's Monday, but for us it's like a Thursday,” he said. Bowling Green coach Scot Loeffler said he frankly has a hard time remembering what day it is when the schedule shift hits in November. “The entire week gets turned upside down,” Loeffler said. “It’s wild, but it’s great for the league because there’s two days a week this time of year that people around the country will watch MAC games.” AP freelance writer Jonah Bronstein contributed to this report. Shane Barnett was last seen on May 7, 2023 on CCTV at Allensbank Road, just outside the hospital, and then disappeared. Since then his family have been looking for him every day and have issued a number of emotional appeals in the hope someone might have information about his whereabouts. Now South Wales Police have issued an update saying Shane has been found and thanked all those who helped in the appeal to find the 49-year-old. One Facebook , Sunday November 24, South Wales Police shared: "Shane Barnett, 49, who was reported as missing in May last year has been found. Thank you to everyone who shared our appeals." Shane's mother, Diane Bush who has spent the past 18 months alongside her family and SWP searching for her son also thanked all those who helped with locating Shane. She wrote on the Facebook post: "I cannot thank you all for all your shares over the last 18mths, and as for the police, I cannot thank you enough, you have never given up looking and followed up on any leads, and in the end you found him , thank you so much." In September South Wales Police put out an artist's impression of Shane 15 months after he disappeared. His sister, Nicola Casey said at the time police told the family that he may no longer be alive, but she refuses to believe it until he's found. She told WalesOnline at the time: "I have spent hours daily searching every inch of Cardiff since he went missing. I've put posters up, I've posted his picture on any Cardiff social media pages I could find. I've had many people message me with possible sightings which I'm so grateful for, I've gone there to check and unfortunately it hasn't been him but I won't stop checking."
